CHAPTER 56

Taehyung pov

We all gathered in the backyard after a long time apart. At first, I was furious with both of them, but they managed to calm me down and explain the situation inside the palace.

We sat in a circle, and there were three bottles of soju placed before us. To my surprise, Jungkook joined us after many persuasions from Jin hyung. I could sense his discomfort, knowing that the three of us were from royal families.

Jin hyung poured the soju into glasses and handed one to Jungkook, who accepted it with an expressionless face. I sighed and took a sip from my own glass.

"Taehyung, you can't stay here forever. And another thing, Dad is searching for you like a madman. He's furious," Jin said, his voice tinged with tension, causing me to look at him seriously.

"Especially y/n. If he finds her, you know what—" I growled, cutting off his sentence, gritting my teeth in anger.

No, he can't do anything until I'm alive. No one can lay a finger on Y/N. I promised myself that I would not let anything happen to her. I sighed and glanced at Jungkook, who was waiting for my response.

"I won't let anything happen to her," I said blankly, locking eyes with Jungkook.

"I believe you, Taehyung. But you both have a future. So, if you're considering anything, you have to think many times over," Jimin advised me, and I nodded.

"I have to tell you guys something very important." I took a deep breath, meeting their curious gazes. Maybe now was the best time to confess my decision.

"I and Y/N decided to get married," I announced, scanning their expressions. Jin and Jimin smiled at me, seemingly accepting of our decision. But when I glanced at Jungkook, his expression twisted into one of pure rage. Not again, I thought with a heavy sigh. He gritted his teeth, struggling to contain his anger. Why does he always react this way when it comes to me?

Jungkook gritted his teeth, struggling to contain his rage. "No, it won't happen," he declared, locking eyes with me. My blood boiled, my beast awakening within me. I rose from my seat in a fit of anger, the chair clattering to the floor behind me.

"I don't give a damn about your opinion. But it will happen," I spat out each word, my teeth clenched in frustration. How dare he oppose us like this?

"But she's my sister. I can't give permission to marry a murderer like you." With heavy steps, I advanced towards him, gripping his collar tightly in my fist.

"Hey, Taehyung, don't," Jin's voice rang out, but I ignored him. Right now, I didn't care about anything except confronting Jungkook.

"Do you really believe a ten-year-old could commit murder?" I retorted.

" BUT I DON'T WANT TO LET THIS HAPPEN," Jungkook shouted back, also grabbing my collar. We glared at each other, locked in a battle of wills.

"WHY? What's your problem with me?" I gritted my teeth , but before Jungkook could respond, someone intervened, pulling us apart. Jimin's hand rested on my shoulder, trying to calm me down, but I shook my head stubbornly.

"Calm down, buddy. We can—"

"No, Jimin, I want to know why the hell he can't accept my decision," I insisted, my gaze fixed firmly on Jungkook.

"I don't want to repeat the past. I'm afraid of what might happen if you marry her. You escaped with her once, and NOW YOU'RE PUTTING HER LIFE IN DANGER BY MARRYING HER." Jungkook explained, his gaze piercing into mine with intensity.

"I WON'T GIVE MY SISTER TO A MONSTER LIKE YOU," he added, his words hitting me like a punch to the gut. Monster. The word echoed in my mind, igniting a fierce anger within me. If Jungkook weren't Y/N's childhood best friend, I might have done something I'd regret. But for now, I clenched my jaw, struggling to contain my fury.

"MONSTER, yes, I'm a heartless monster that doesn't have any feelings," I said, laughing loudly, though only I knew how my heart ached with pain.

No one could see the pain I hid inside my heart, but Y/N did. She healed me. She saw the pain that I hid from the whole world behind a fake cold mask.

"REMEMBER  JUNGKOOK, this monster became human because of my Y/N. She understands me more deeply than anyone else ever could."I shouted. I can't tolerate it now. Everyone seems to see me like a person who doesn't have a heart or feelings.

"But remember, I also have a heart, I also have feelings. I also craved the love that I didn't get from my childhood," I breathed heavily while glaring at him.

"Maybe you can't see my pain. But it's okay. Try to see me as also a human. I'M A HUMAN, JUNGKOOK. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY EVERYONE SEES ME AS A HEARTLESS PERSON." Tears rolled down my cheeks, but I gritted my teeth in anger. These tears were not because I was sad, but because of my anger. I flipped my hair back in disappointment and then glanced at Jungkook, who wore a blank expression.

"I don't care if you like it or not. I'll marry her by hook or by crook. That's it," I declared firmly.

"Taehyung, go inside. We'll talk about this matter later,"  He said, I shooting a glare at Jimin. With a deep breath, I turned to head indoors, but I paused, turning back to face Jungkook.

"Do you think I'm putting her in danger? No, you're so wrong. I don't know what the future holds for us, but as long as I'm alive, no one can harm her. No one. I mean it," I asserted before striding towards our room.

My eyes were bloodshot red. With heavy footsteps, I entered the room, but they softened upon seeing her peacefully sleeping, clutching my pillow. I sighed and silently approached, wiping away my tears. As I lay down beside her, I noticed a pout on her face, making her look even more adorable. Gently, I took the pillow from her grasp and stared at her, running my fingers through her hair tenderly.

"Y/n," I murmured, my voice barely audible in the quiet of the room. "I've spent my life building walls around myself, convinced that I was better off alone. But every time I look at you, those walls crumble to dust."

I reached out, tracing the line of her jaw with the back of my hand, feeling the warmth of her skin against my fingertips.

"B-But with you." I continued, my voice thick with emotion." I feel like I can be the person I've always wanted to be. The person I used to dream of becoming before the world turned me cold."

A faint smile tugged at the corners of my lips as I leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead.

"you're the only one who understands me, the one who truly sees me for who I am," I smiled, feeling fortunate to have her in my life. My arms tightened around her, pulling her closer.

"Please don't ever leave me," I pleaded, my voice barely a whisper. "Without you, I'm lost."

"Do you think Jungkook is okay with the marriage?"Prince Jimin asked Prince Jin as they strolled through the village, embracing the morning's fresh air.

Jin sighed and shrugged his shoulders. He felt so sad about his younger brother. He could see  how much he had been through in the past, and he just wanted him to live happily.

After yesterday's argument between Jungkook and Taehyung, Jin felt it was necessary to talk to Jungkook about the matter and clear up any misunderstandings he might have about Taehyung. That's why he had a conversation with Jungkook last night, doing his best to understand the situation.

"I don't know," Jin replied to Jimin's question. "I talked about this matter with Jungkook yesterday, But I'm not sure if he truly understands the situation. I can only hope he'll come to see things clearly." With a heavy sighed, and they continued walking through the village, feeling the fresh morning air.

"Wait here, I'll go and grab some pastries for us. I'll be quickly." With that, Prince Jimin walked toward the pastry shop. Jin sighed and nodded his head, looking around.

They wore casual clothes to avoid drawing attention as royalists. As Jin walked, he felt someone collide with him, causing him to stumble back a bit. Without hesitation, he caught the person's wrist to prevent them from falling. Slowly raising his gaze, Jin's eyes widened as he beheld a beautiful girl standing close to him, causing his heart to race.

Lost in her mesmerizing black eyes, Jin was snapped back to reality by the girl's gentle cough. "Ahem... Mister," she said, bringing him back to the present.

"Oh, sorry," Jin replied, releasing her wrist from his grip.

"It's okay, thank you so much for saving me. But my flower basket didn't survive," she pouted, sadly looking at the bucketful of white roses scattered everywhere.

"I apologize for that," Jin said, slightly bowing to her.

"No, no, it's not your fault, mister. I was in a hurry, and I didn't see you," she softly smiled, her face flushed.

Jin bent down to help her pick up the undamaged flowers. Once they were done, they both stood up and gazed at each other, a moment of silent connection passing between them.

"Once again, thank you -" She paused for a moment because she didn't know his name. Jin understood and smiled as he introduced himself.

"I'm Seok Jin. And you?" Jin asked, eager to know the name of the girl standing in front of him.

"Oh, I'm Harin. Nice to meet you," she replied, returning the smile as she introduced herself.

"But I haven't seen you here before," Jin nervously remarked.

"Ah, actually, I'm here to see my brother. I live in Yangdong. That's why you haven't seen me," He lied. Of course, he had to lie; otherwise, who knows what might have happened.

"Harin...oh, why are you still here and what happened to your flower basket?" An unfamiliar voice interrupted them, causing both of them to turn their heads towards the speaker.

"Oh, Oppa, actually, I bumped into him accidentally and dropped my flower basket," she sheepishly chuckled, glancing at her own brother.

Then their eyes traveled towards Jin, who stood there, looking at both of them.

"Oh, he's Jin. Today, I met him, and he helped me reorganize my flower basket. Hmm. Jin, this is my brother, Jung Hoseok," she introduced.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Jung Hoseok," Jin slightly bowed, and hoseok shown his prettiest smile.to him.

"Likewise, Jin. Any friend of my sister's is a friend of mine," he declared warmly.

"Here you go, Haerin. Maybe Jungkook will be waiting for you," Hoseok said, and she nodded. Jin's eyes widened, and he spoke up.

"Oh, do you know Jungkook? Actually, I am staying there," Jin said. Haerin and Hoseok exchanged confused glances before smiling.

"Oh, then you can go with us," Haerin suggested, but Jin smiled and shook his head.

"My friend went nearby to shop for something. I'll come  with him; you guys can go ahead," Jin replied. They both nodded.

"Then we'll go. See you another day," Haerin said, and they walked away from Jin.

"Oh, god, what's this?" Jin placed his hand on his chest, feeling his heart beating fast. A small smile appeared on his face.

"Ahem... Mmm... someone in love," Jimin's teasing voice came from behind him, making Jin look back and roll his eyes.

"It's not like that. We have to go now," Jin said, but Jimin smirked, seeing the older's face turn red.

"I was looking for the drama the whole time," Jimin chuckled. Jin sighed loudly and began to walk as if he hadn't heard him.

"Hey, I want to ask you something. Is this a Daegu thing that you guys always fall for a village girl over a princess?" Jimin jokingly questioned.

"Shut up and come," Jin replied with a slight smile, and they both began to walk towards Jungkook's house.
