I never expected to end up in this position. I was supposed to help people, not be helped. But here I am, with my tires flat and my gas empty in the middle of nowhere. Who could I call? I checked my contacts and the only one who could help... no, I couldn't call him. He was my one rival! But, I had no other choice.. I dialed the number.

"Hello?" Markanic asked, yawning.

"Oh sorry, did I wake you?" I mumbled, feeling bad.

"Huh? Rooster? Why are you of all people calling me? Finally admitting I'm better?" I could hear the smirk in his voice.

"Never. I just need you to pick me up." I said. "My car broke down and you're the only dumbass who would be awake at this hour."

He tsked. "Wow, insulting me when you need my help? Not happening."

"Come on, please! I don't know who else to call!" i said.

"Guess you should've been a good boy then. Apologize and i'll consider it." Markanic chuckled.

"Fine.. i'm sorry." i mumbled. "Now come pick me up."

"Alright. Where are you?" he asked

"I don't know. Somewhere outside the city, north." i said, checking my compass.

"I'll be right there." I heard his engine revv as he hung up.

A few minutes later he arrived, smiling. "Found you."

I smiled a bit, relieved. "Hey." I watched as he attached me to him and started driving.

"Where were you going so late, anyways?" he asked.

"I just wanted to drive around, but there must have been glass on the road." I explained.

"I see.. Well, i'll get you home safe." he assured me.

He did just that, and right as I was about to park, he said "Hey, by the way.. Stay safe. Don't get yourself in that situation again."

"I won't." I promised, watching him leave. Maybe next time we meet, it will be under more pleasant circumstances.
