Chapter Fifteen

<Shina>

It had been nearly a week and I still couldn't help smiling whenever I thought of my birthday. How had he managed to do all that without me finding out? The decorations had been so beautiful and the food was amazing. And where did he even find all those flowers?

But something even more important...How had he found my grandmother, someone I hadn't seen since I was a child? I had been so shocked, so happy, that I had been unable to do anything but cry as soon as I had seen her smiling face when I walked into the kitchen.

We had spent the next three days doing little more than talking about everything that had been happening in our lives. She admitted mine had been a bit more adventurous that she cared for. But it had brought me where I am today and I wouldn't want to change anything about my life with Elijah and our wonderful family.

Elijah, Matthew and Emily, they were everything to me.

<Elijah>

As much as I hated bringing someone from outside into our home, even for a few days, it had been worth it to see how happy it had made Shina. Perhaps I would allow the woman back once in a while to visit again. The children seemed to like having her visit as well. Yes, once in a while might be ok.

I would talk to Anthony about it in the morning. We could perhaps make plans for her to come over again in the spring time. I am sure Shina would love to show her the gardens that she has worked so hard with Anthony on. And you would be hard pressed to find another garden as lovely as ours.

Climbing the stairs to our bedroom, I found Shina already asleep in our bed. I quickly changed and gently slid into my spot beside her as I began snuggling against her, my arms wrapping around her waist.

"I love you, Shina. My Precious Shina."

I couldn't believe it when I heard the person in front of me talking to the cashier about random garbage. Didn't they realize there were people behind them who had things to do and didn't want to listen to their boring stories about their boring lives? I needed to find my family! Hurry up!

"And my granddaughter Shina has the cutest twins! A boy and a girl! They are just adorable! And so polite!" I froze at her words for a moment, my breath caught in my throat. Had she just said...

"Did you say..... Shina?"
