Ch.3 The Horse Shall Remain King

Ichigo P.O.V

"What?!" Orihime's voice was the first to panic. "Can't we do something about it?"

"That hollow inside you Ichigo is very dangerous. I've seen the power it holds... "Uryu spoke gravely, a hint of fear lingering inside his eyes."It could destroy a town in a matter of seconds..."

"Is it that powerful?" Chad questioned. "I've never seen it before."

I sighed and leaned against the railing of the school roof. "You don't want too. I promised myself to never let my hollow take over. I guess studying and lacking off on my duties counts as taking over my body."

'That's right~' Hichigo's annoying voice spoke up, but his question shocked me next. 'Aren't you going to tell them about that girl? She could be a threat too. Never let your guard down around people, even your friends.'

"Right... Hichigo had a point there... well I was the only one who heard him. Remember that girl who came into our class?"

"(y/n)?" Orihime chimed, "well, I believe that was her name. I only heard it once."

"Yeah, I think it was (y/n). Anyways, Hichigo thinks she might be like me because he senses a locked power inside her."

"What?" Uryu's eyes widen, so much the deep ocean blue of his eyes swirled with wonder. "Your zanpakuto believe there is someone just like you? Half hollow and half human?"

'Well, she is something else, but I can't pinpoint what it might be.'

"He also says she might be something else but isn't too sure." Man, repeating after someone gets kind of annoying.

"Oh, I know!" Orihime grinned ear to ear. "Why don't we go to Kisuke? We can ask him about the girl and see if he can help with your hollow problem."

"That's brilliant Orihime," Uryu claimed.

'What?!' Hichigo snarled in disgust. 'I don't want some old man fixing this problem! This is my dream! No old man is going to ruin it!'

"Shut it!" I yelled mentally back at him before looking at the group. "I'll go see Kisuke after school. Can anyone of you look after that girl?"

"I got work." Orihime eyes when downcast.

"I've got sewing class," Uryu uttered next.

"Boxing is something I can't miss out on." Chad gravely spoke, "I can't miss any of the practices."

"It's alright I understand. Go do your stuff while I figure this out on my own."

The three of them nodded just when the bell rang. Great, I didn't even eat my lunch yet. I grabbed the bento from my bag and begun to eat it down swiftly when an elbow bumped into me, (h/c) hair shinning in the nearby window light.

"Oh, I'm sorry." (y/n) turned and helped steady my bento. "I'm still new here and didn't see you coming from around the corner."

"It's fine. It's (y/n)... right?"

"Yes, and who are you? I remember talking to you earlier this morning."

"Name's Kurosaki Ichigo, senior in class B1."

She smiled and retracted her hand away from my hand. "Nice. I'm still new here... do you think you can show me around the school tomorrow? It'll really help since I'm still new to Japan."

"Not a problem. We should get going before the next bell rings."

(y/n) nodded and walked with me to our classroom. Everyone was seated in their seats by the time we can back, along with Orihime and Uryu and Chad, looking at (y/n) with a curious gaze. I can't blame them since they can sense the spellbinding down her powers.

As soon as the bell rung the other left for their duties as I came up to (y/n) while she packed up her stuff. "Do you need help walking home? I know my way around this town at the back of my head."

(y/n) smiled and slung her backpack on her shoulder. "That's sweet of you, but I need to know my way around here by myself. I'll give me a chance to really experience Japan culture."

"I understand. See you tomorrow."

She waved back and exited out of the other door, walking down the other way while her hair bounced lightly behind her.

Hichigo's laugh echoed inside my head, just as annoying and painful as he was. 'Do you like that girl? She's rather cute, but she's out of your league, Horse.'

"Shut up! I don't like her and I'm only helping her because she's one of us! I don't see you getting all nice and helpful around her, not in a million years."

'Can it! The only time I see you help someone is when you want something, that's the dark side of you, and I know it.'

"I'm just going to ignore you now."

What can you get with an annoying hollow inside your head? Walking around the town with him boasting and screaming about him being the king, and that is what I'll do when I see him again. Kill him each time I get the chance.

Luckily for me, Kisuke was already outside sitting down, fanning himself with the air he was missing. He smiled when he saw me and put his fan away. "Ichigo! How may I help you?"

"It's my hollow. He's taken control of some parts of my body. I was hoping you had something to maybe push him away from the control."

"Hmmm..." his expression turn stern, almost sorrowful. "I can see what I can do. If there isn't anything for me to do... then I'm sorry Ichigo."

Shock stabbed me inside the chest. If there wasn't Kisuke could do then... Hichigo was going to take over my body. If I try to power myself up to a stronger level... no that wouldn't work since he would become just as strong as me.

"I-I see..." I controlled my voice from cracking. "Do you want to do some test right now?"

"Yes, right away."

* a few hours later*

I laid still on the floor as Kisuke came in with some notes in his hand, looking positive with some and negative with other. My heart was beating so fast when I stood up I got a little bit dizzy. "So... can there be anything to do about it?"

Hichigo chanting inside my head for no cure, but Kisuke's words were when I lost will to stay calm. "There are two choices. Either you let him take over and control your body, or you can separate yourselves as two beings, but be connected as sword and master."

(y/n) P.O.V

"Ugh... now that I think about it I should have let that guy Ichigo lead me home."

It wasn't uncommon for me to get lost in a new town, but it was small and surely finding the way home wouldn't have been so much of a problem. The chain around my wrist clanked a bit as I smiled and looked at the charm.

It was a cross with a blue pattern on the sides. My father gave it to me and told me to never let it go, no matter the cost. I had to put it away for school, but the familiar ringing brought a sense of calmness to me.

Then, a tiny earthquake happened. It was so fast I barely felt it, but it did make my body shake a bit. The buildings didn't seem affected... was it my imagination?

A roar came from the other side of the street as a shadow towered over me. I just looked at the shadow and not at the creature, but it was in a form of a monkey, with razor-sharp blades all over its arms and legs.

"YoU! I wANt yoU! yOUR spIRIT eNeRgY!"

I just bolted for it and ran away from the thing, but when it took a step the ground shook with it. What the hell was that thing?! Why are there monsters in a town?! Didn't anyone see them?!

It caught up to me as it slammed me down with its hand, making me face plant into the concrete, along with the feeling and sound of my nose breaking. Blood poured and dripped onto the concrete as the creature grabbed me with its huge hand.

"LET ME GO!" I thrashed and screamed about.

The monster seemed to ignore me and inched me closer towards its mouth. My heart pounded fearfully with each passing second. Was this how I was going to end? Suddenly, the chain from my wrist began to glow a brilliant bright blue.

It slashed at the monster as it roared and threw me away, making me scream and break my arm to cover myself from the fall. Stars danced around my vision when a man in white clothing came, hair white and silver with a single streak.

He held a long blue bow and struck the hollow down with many arrows. What was going on...? Why did that guy seem familiar? My heart seems to stop when he turned around and had eye contact.

He walked over to where I was and bent down, smiling ear to ear. "You can't seem to ever get away from trouble. Don't worry, I won't hurt you, but this will."

A burn, almost searing pain, exploded inside my neck as I gasped and chocked for air. It felt like a pattern was being carved into my skin, sinking inside my soul. The smile he gave me was soon looking like a psychopath.

"You'll be lucky enough to even remember me after this, but just remember its Hotaru. The next time we'll meet is when I'll take you away, for good, so just remain peaceful and quiet." He removed my cross chain as I weakly tried to resist, but he laughed and picked me up into his arms. "Want this back? I'm sorry, but I'm ordered to take it back for good."

I managed to claw the guy in the face, but it didn't do anything as I suck back into the deeps of the darkness...
