The Pokemon world is perhaps most different from the real world in its morals, and this has been confirmed Junichi Masuda. He said that the Pokemon world has no "global warming, water shortages, or any other disaster; instead a world where people work together to eliminate or lessen these problems." This is probably very true, I find this to be one of the most important things in a world especially with very special and blessed creatures.

The games and anime have a limited amount of space to them, so not much could be shown. The games just have Pokemon battling, and that's it. But, in my opinion, Pokemon is way deeper than at the surface. It's really a huge world after all, and more like Earth than most would believe, albeit still very different.
