First Gym Badge

Okay guys, before we actually get started....I forgot to leave out some very important details about this nuzlocke. First, there were two rules I forgot to include.

5. I enact the Dups Clause. Which means, if I run into a Pokemon I've already caught, then I don't have to catch it, and can instead catch the next Pokemon I encounter.

6. I enact Shiny Clause. Which means, if I find a shiny Pokemon, whether its the first encounter or not, I can catch it.

There are also some important randomizer additions I forgot to talk about.

- All pokemon abilities will be randomized

- All pokemon can learn any type of HM move

- All given and fossil pokemon will be randomized

-The Pokemon I find will only be between Gens 1-4, since its an older game

Okay, now I think that's everything. I apologize for not mentioning these before. With that said, now let's begin this journey.

(Also, I will be linking videos of Pokemon music at the top. I highly recommend you play each song as you read. Kinda sets the mood....that sounded a little weird. Whatever, enjoy!)

I start my day with getting dressed, ready to meet Professor Rowan and receive a Pokemon. Barry is being impatient and ushers me to hurry. So after a bit, we finally leave our town and start to head to Sandgem Town. We come across some green grass, which we can't enter because we don't have Pokemon. But Barry, being the genius he is, gives a bright idea.

"If we run really fast, no Pokemon should attack us!"

.....

*sigh* Geez, Barry, are you even thinking about this? You realize if we so much as find one Pokemon and it attacks, we're screwed! We're only 10, aren't we? Why would we do something so risky? Oh well, it's not he'd actually-

OH MY GOD HE'S GONNA GO IN THE GRASS-

"Stop it right there!"

Thankfully, Professor Rowan appears with Lucas and stops the stupid blonde. He then gives us a very strict scolding about how we should be more responsible and not idiots and such. And, to my surprise and against Lucas's argument, he still gives us a Pokemon. I'm super excited what I'll pick! With the randomizer in effect, I could get anything! I wonder who my new partner will be?

Rowan shows us the choices: Male Nidoran, Porygon, and Magnemite.

Not at all what I expected, but not bad choices either. It took a few minutes to decide, but I watched as Nidoran gave me this adorable stare. I knew then and there, he was the one I'd pick. And he'd need a fitting name. He'll evolve into some sort of king-like Pokemon, so I decided to give him the name of a great king.

Asgore.

(Please tell me you know the reference)

After receiving Asgore, Barry immediately wants to battle. Instead of getting one of the other starters like I expected, he actually got a Nidoran too. Somehow. Glitch in the randomizer maybe? Didn't matter, cause Barry was defeated easily. Not long after, I go to Sandgem Town, and Lucas gives me the unnecessary tutorial of how to throw a plastic ball at a poor, defenseless monster, forever keeping it as your battle slave.

Fun.

Once I get some Pokeballs, I go back to Lake Acuity to get my first encounter. I was shocked to find an Aerodactyl. Hell yeah, this guy will be a great addition to the team. It should be great to have a Rock/Flying type. I wonder what I'll name him....oh. I'm out of Pokeballs. Oh well, free XP it is.

I continue to Route 202 for my next encounter, more Pokeballs stocked up, and....oh my god a Sceptile!! I actually find a fully evolved starter here! That's so awesome! He'll make a great Grass type to use! Never know when I'll need it....great. Great critical hit, Asgore. You're Peck was awesome....*sigh*

I stayed determined, grinding Asgore a little before heading into Jubilife Town. I then tried to get two more encounters on Routes 203 and 204. First I found a Mantyke on 203. Couldn't take many hits and ended up getting killed before I could catch it. On 204 I found a Kabuto, another Water type. Sadly, it didn't want to be caught, and I ran out of Pokeballs again.

Four encounters, and I didn't catch anything. I take out my frustration on Barry, who wants to battle me. He has both his Nidoran and a Graveler. But thanks to a bit of over leveling on accident (since I only have one Pokemon thus far) they both get obliterated. In fact, after that battle, Asgore actually evolves into Nidorino, which is awesome. Before I move on though, I go back and decide to head to Route 218.

It was a long shot, but I figured I might be able to fish for a Pokemon. Turned out to be a good idea, because I reeled out a cute little Horsea. She nervous at first to join us, but she eventually becomes our newest friend! Finally, a successful encounter. I named her Mermista.

Turns out, we quickly had another encounter cause in cave that I forgot what its called, I think it was part of Mt. Coronet, I found a Nincada. Not the best, but we're happy to add a new member to our team. I name him Kweeble.

We did some grinding before the gym. We attempted to catch an Electivire in the cave on Oreburgh Town, but it was honestly too dangerous. After some training, we head into the gym for our first gym badge. I was a little nervous, because as mentioned before, his team would be randomized. So I had no idea what to expect from this guy. But I was a little over leveled, so I wasn't too worried.

We faced Roark, and began the battle.

Turns out he used Fighting type Pokemon. First he brings out a Machamp, which Asgore takes out with only a few Pecks. Next he brings out Toxicroak. That was annoying, since he kept using Sand-Attack, making it almost impossible to hit it. But after too much time had passed, Asgore finally lands the hits he needs and takes it out. Finally, Roark brings out a small Tyrogue, that I wasn't worried about. The moment I had Asgore use Peck though, I suddenly got scared, cause I wondered if Tyrogue knew Counter.....but it didn't matter, cause he o-k'd it.

With that done, we got our first gym badge: The Coal Badge
