Cosmic
Author's note: A gift for a poem! Sorry that it is not as good...
Peeking from the shadows,
I spotted a glimpse of a figure.
Then, I called out from afar
and as the lady smiled so familiar,
she took my hand and guided me to the star.
Then I stilled from my repose
to wake in an anguished cry,
sobbing out my eternal woes.
When alas would I return to the sky?
I screamed out her name,
only to levitate out of my estate.
What was their ultimate aim?
Were the lights pitying my sorry state?
"Let me no more yearn",
I whispered that night to the heavens above.
And with a resounding echo they did return,
answered "no", with love.
Author's note: This is based off heaven/hell stories and influenced by a story called Stardust...so yep. However, there is a character, Dedun, from one of my published stories, Lapis, that inspired this poem's premise. (Fits his situation perfectly.)
In fact, the first chapter of that story, Grip, is based on the events that are mentioned in this poem.
Cosmic was written in response to EvelynWhitej007 's poem, Flew, in the anthology To my Unrequited.
