A/N this poem is for a poetry contest I'm entering, so I hope you like it and tell me what you think!

The girl walked through forests this night,

The darkness seeping through her soul.

She shivered and shook with fright,

As she took her midnight stroll.

The cold made her cower fear.

She didn't like it one bit.

Every sound she could hear,

Made her want to end this horrid trip.

She heard gruesome twigs snapping.

She heard the spooky owl "hoo."

All night creatures that had been napping,

Now wanted to make her their food.

She took a sharp turn at the corner,

The graveyard filled with spooky fog.

A sharp whistle tried to warn her,

Of what was yet to come.

The misty fog engulfed her.

There was not a soul in sight.

She did not know what was to come of her,

As it carried her through the night.

She whizzed past her small little house.

The fog flew her past the catacombs.

She knew as she whizzed past a mouse,

That she was going a place that wasn't home.

She must have fainted on the way,

She was feeling awfully dizzy.

It was obviously still not day,

But she couldn't tell, her head was fizzy.

She could now see the starry night sky,

As she stared up into the clouds.

She heard weary creatures cry,

And many more ugly sounds.

She looked at herself and screamed,

As she saw a horrible sight.

This was not a dream,

She became a ghost that night.

Towards a hollow willow,

She hovered two feet above ground.

She whisped her hand to and fro,

Without the smallest sound.


She hovered around the graveyard,

Between the headstones and crypts.

She continued her trip with a brave heart,

And somehow, she felt that she'd trip.

She flew and saw memories of past,

She flew past trees she'd leaned against,

Sadly she had become aghast,

And then, she fainted again.

She woke up, her eyes filled with tears,

There was surely no surprise,

She couldn't disguise the fear,

As she stared at me, fear in her eyes.
