one hundred eighty

9-10-15
I remember us singing,
I'M FAIRLY LOCAL,
I'VE BEEN AROUND,
I'VE SEEN THE STREETS
YOU'RE WALKING DOWN.
I remember I saw a streetlight in the dusk downfall
And I wrote lines of poetry for you.
I remember I realized nobody thought like I thought
But you did.
And then my life fell apart
And perhaps I was nothing grand without you
Because I've never felt like I loved until you.

Maybe we were written in the stars
And we were a super nova of color and inspiration
Until it all ran out.
We drove our metaphorical car until we were empty
And once the car stopped,
I realized we were on fire
In the Badlands
And you disappeared like a ghost,
Leaving me with a Badlands to myself
And a ghost who haunts me.

We were fire, we were flame,
Yet we were water in the rain,
We were a hurricane.
