Demons (DA&P Research Part 1)
For this picture I used a bright light to cast a shadow and had some volunteers use their hands to create "demons". I used the burner tool with the hardness set to 100 to make the background darker and then used it again, while it was set on 50, on the model and the shadowed hands to make it a little darker than the background. This was for a Famous Artist Research Project that we did and I chose Edvard Munch because his art dealt with a lot of darker imagery and colors and made me really think about the story behind the art. A lot of his art was inspired but the anxiety, depression, and other mental health problems that he faced. When he was five, he lost his mother to tuberculosis, and his sister died the same way when he was fourteen. The idea of this image was to show the fear and difficult times that Munch might have gone through and how he got through them by being brave and determined. I tried to base it off the first copy of Edvard Munch's painting called, The Sick Child
(Here is the first copy of The Sick Child)
