Chapter 15

May 14, 2017

12:18 a.m.

**Yu's POV**

Sasha falls asleep on Yu's shoulder, her soft snores echoing in the near-silent forest. Yu chuckles softly, trying hard to not wake her up. Her hair is so soft, he thinks. Her head buries deep into his shoulderblade, causing a spiking pain there. He grumbles and attempts to shift her position. He tries to shove her off of him gently, just get her onto the ground. As he barely touches her, she grumbles in her sleep. 

He pauses only for a moment, just to make sure she doesn't wake up. This moment seems so much like the one episode of Spongebob where Spongebob and Patrick are trying to play a prank on Sandy while she's sleeping, and they can't wake her up. 

Yu tries shifting her again, and prevails. He sets her on the base of the tree softly.  He takes his uniform jacket off and places it on her. She looks so cold laying there in only a tattered dress. He wonders silently what happened to her while she was in the Forbidden Castle. It must've been something big if it had affected her so much. She was sobbing when he approached her. 

3:22 a.m.

Yu watches as the clouds reveal a crystal-clear moon. He's laying on his back, next to Sasha. She's still asleep. She really must've needed it. Yu looks over at Sasha, the moonlight just barely gracing her face with the clear blue light. The moonlight caresses her nose, her eyelids, her lips. The light refracts off of her hair, spiking out towards the human eye. It blurs together with such finesse it makes Sasha looks like a glowing angel.

Yu sighs deeply. He turns over, only to have Sasha tapping at his back.

Yu: Mmm?

Sasha: *groggily* What time is it...?

Yu: I'm not sure. Late, I'm betting. *yawn*

Sasha: Hm.

Sasha sighs contently, and Yu joins her. Yu turns to face Sasha on his side. She's looking directly at his eyes. The moonlight makes her eyes sparkle. Her eyes shimmer with utter curiosity. He brings his fingertips to her chin, pointing it up at his face. Their faces lean together. As their lips are less than a centimeter away from each other, they hear branches snap. Yu sits up. Yosuke clears his throat. 

**Sasha's POV**

Me: Damn it, Yosuke! Really?!

I sit up, leaves stuck in my hair. Yu stares at me with an adorable look on his face, and he brushes them out of my hair, pulling apart the individual strands so the leaves don't get broken all throughout my hair. I squint my eyes then take a deep breath. I open them fully, eyebrows furrowed.

Me: You couldn't walk up to us 1 minute later?

Yosuke: What? We were worried about you guys! It's like...3:45 or something like that. In the morning!

Me: What? It is?

Yosuke: Yeah. And you had us worried. It's been like 12 hours and you couldn't think of calling us? We thought you were DEAD.

Yu: Yosuke. Look. She came here, got lost, and we sat here so she could rest her ankle. 

Yosuke: I don't believe you. Bro, Teddie said he saw everything. 

Me: What are you-

Rise steps out from behind a tree. She points at me, lips pursed. 

Rise: Don't play dumb. You both went in the Forbidden Castle. Teddie and I saw it all. You're not the only one with special powers, y'know.

The rest of the gang steps out of the shadows, all are fucking pissed.

Kanji: Look, man. We've been searching everywhere, thinking you went to the hospital like a normal person. We came here, and Teddie walks up to us saying, "Th-They went in there! That's beary, beary bad!" Can you see why we were worried?

Me: *grumbles* I can see why you're so pissy.

Kanji: What was that...?

Me: Nothing. Look, I'm fine. Nothing happened.

Yosuke: Bullshit.

Me: Am I not allowed to go anywhere?! What the hell!

Naoto is the last to venture out. It's obvious she's been crying.

Naoto: How could you just leave without letting us know? Without letting ME know!? I thought we were best friends, Sasha.

Me: Why...Are you guys...

I blink rapidly, tears streaming down. I look at everyone's face. I get up onto my toes, only crouching. Yu looks at me like, "Why did you drag me into this mess?" Kanji looks at me with near disgust. 

Rise: And bitch...Next time don't take MY FUCKING YU NARUKAMI with YOU!

My face contorts into horror. The next thing I know, Rise tackles me. Everything goes black.

I wake up, screaming. Yu bolts upright, scared half to death by my awakening. I shiver in fear.

Yu: Hey! It's okay! It was just a dream!

I stare at Yu. He looks no different than before. He's not wearing the same look as before, that accusing look. That piercing dagger that bore into my heart and carved a little hole, letting my soul seep out a little.

Yu: Are you alright?

I start to calm down. It was only a dream, I tell myself. It was only a dream.

Me: What...the hell happened?

Yu: Well, I was about to...

Yu looks off into the shadows of the forest. He's blushing a heated red.

Me: You were going to...what...?

Yu: I was going to kiss you, okay?! You fell asleep like, this far away from my face, and that's it! There! You happy?

Me: I'm sorry...

I look away. I made it all awkward by falling asleep?! That's so dumb, and I punch myself on the inside for doing so. I sigh, and plop back down. I land hard on the surface we're laying on. It's only then that I realize we're laying on a tree branch. 

Me: Ow!

Yu: ...You okay?

I rub my back. I'll have a nice bruise there later. Yu's stifling a laugh. I punch him mockingly in the ribs and close my eyes. I take a deep breath. I open one eye, his grey eyes are staring directly at me. I open my other eye. I place my hand on his face; it's very soft and delicate. I bring my face to his, and close my eyes. 

For the first time in a long time, I kiss someone. It's not a kind of kiss where you choke on each other's tongue. It's just a kiss where our lips touch gently, softer than silk. 

I pull away, blushing. He looks at me, his grey eyes sparkling. I smirk at him and kiss him again. He places his hand on my face, caressing it gently. We kiss, again and again, under the moonlight. He pulls away for the final time, smiling. He closes his eyes, chuckling.

Me: What's so funny?

Yu opens one eye to look at me. 

Yu: This was the first time I've kissed a girl. It was pretty damn nice.

I giggle.

Me: It sure as hell didn't seem like it.

Yu chuckles again. He takes me by the hand, and pulls me to my feet.

Yu: We should go back.

I bend down to pick up his jacket. I spot something inside the pocket. It looks like a note. I decide not to mention it or look at it myself. I hand him his jacket.

Yu: Thanks, but you can keep it. Just for now. You can return it tomorrow after we go ice skating. Then I'll have an excuse to go to your house.

I stand on my tip-toes to reach his face, and loop my arms around his neck. I peck him again. I pull away, my eyes sparkling. 

Me: We should go now.

Yu: Yeah.

I take Yu by the hand and pull him through the forest. I beckon the swirling winds to move us faster. Faster and faster until we're flying. I look over at Yu, who's like a child again. His eyes are sparkling, his feet not touching the ground. I spot the portal back home. I tell the winds to stop, and they bend to my will.

Our feet touch the ground, and I pull Yu through the portal. I let out a laugh, pure and true. I've achieved everything I could want, just in one day. I've gotten the boy of my dreams. I wonder what will happen now.

We land in Junes, in the electronics department. Yosuke and the rest of the gang are there. Their expressions when they spot us change from worried to relieved. 

Rise: Senpai! You're back!

Yosuke: Bro! Where have you been!?

Naoto: Thank God you're safe, Sasha.

Yu and I are enveloped in a hug of all of us.

Kanji: Uh, guys...? What the hell are we doing?

We pull away awkwardly, brushing ourselves off.

Chie: Gross! I have Yosuke cooties on me now! 

Chie pouts. I start to giggle, then it changes from a giggle to a full-hearted laugh. Yukiko joins in with me, and eventually we're all laughing. Yu's laughing so hard that he's crying.

Yu: Guys...Why are we laughing?

We can't stop laughing. This night made me realize one thing. We are indeed infinite. 

OMG Feelz with that freaking kiss and stuff also that group hug! Anyone else feel edgy with that nightmare? It was so painful to write, poor Sasha/Yu.
