Once upon a wish 🌟

"I just want to meet someone... I'm not asking for Mr. Perfect. I'm tired of having my heartbroken... please grant my wish lil shooting star," I prayed as saw a shooting star race across the sky. I closed my eyes and sighed. "This is pathetic. I just need to try harder," I whispered to myself as I leaned on my balcony railing. Pulling my coat closed, watching my breath fade in front of me. Staring out at the city scape, lights shinning and cars bustling.

My name is Olivia Stillë. I'm 25 years old, I have short brown hair in a bob, brown eyes, white skin. I'm as plain as plain can be and I've never had luck with romance. I've only ever dated a couple times in Highschool. After a while I felt like my luck in dating was nonexistent. Both men and women seem to be uninterested in me. It's gotten to the point where I'm wishing on a star for help. My parents try to help. They set me up with sons of work friends, but they never call me back after our first meeting. I walked back into my apartment, locking the sliding door for the night.

Watching tv till I couldn't stay awake anymore. I was dreaming till I felt a breeze on my face. "Did I leave the window open?" I asked myself as I slowly opened my eyes to reveal that I wasn't in my bed room! I jolted up, frantically looking around for answers. I was outside under a light blue and white shifting sky. I was somehow taken from my apartment to a lush field completely covered in strange flowers. Flowers that were pale yellow and light blue. Almost like lily of the valley but the bells were shapped like little stars. I stood up and picked one only to have it disintegrate in my hand. "Where is this place... where am I," she asked softly feeling oddly refreshed. "You're in the star garden my dear," a voice spoke up and I spun around afraid. There stood a man. He was quite tall, beautiful short white hair, stunning blue eyes, and warm dark tan skin. I've never seen anyone so beautiful. Dressed in a navy suit with coattails adorned in slightly darker navy filigree type embroidery. Silver trim accents, and buttons. He even had silver dress shoes. "Who are you, what's a star garden," I asked keeping my distance. "Ah how rude of me. My name is Ophiuchus. You may also call me Ophi if it's too hard to pronounce," he smiled as he took a deep bow. His voice didn't have a discernible accent but it sounded almost familiar. "Ophiuchus? Like the constellation," I asked calming down. "Precisely my dear, and a star garden is a place where people like me come for healing or comfort from their troubles. A place of peace and restoration. Each plant here can be picked and absorbed through your aura. Healing one's spiritual self is just as important as one's physical self," he explained getting closer to me. "So why am I here," I asked looking around. "Your wish," he smiled. "My wish," I repeated confused. Ophiuchus pulled out a silver pocket watch, but when it opened a small hologram of myself appeared. "I just want to meet someone... I'm not asking for Mr. Perfect. I'm tired of having my heartbroken... please grant my wish lil shooting star." I heard it say and I was stunned. I looked up at his gentle smile as he closed the watch. "Seems someone heard your prayers my dear," he smiled softly. My body felt warm as I noticed the sky suddenly turn to night. "I've never seen so many stars so clearly before... they're so bright," I whispered as each flower began to softly glow. "I'm the guide of this place. Well at least for now. Your gift will be potential love. Tho not guaranteed; I will be with you every step of the way," he smiled motioning me to follow him as he walked towards the center of the garden. "How are you going to do that," I asked following close behind him. "The pieces have already been set," he said and as of on cue the ground began to shake. I grabbed onto his arm and he chuckled as a large stone structure rose out of the ground. The base was about the size of a car. A stone pillar sat on top, with a intricate crescent moon on top and a large illuminated gem near the base. "Go on touch the stone," He smiled nudging me. "Will it hurt," I asked cautiously taking a step back. "Haven't heard a complaint yet," he teased. "I'm serious! How will this help me," I asked with fear in my voice as I looked back at him from the platform. "It won't hurt you. You have my word," he said genuinely and I gulped. I looked back at the gem. My hand rose to touch it and I hesitated. "Go on. I'll meet you on the other side," he said assuring me. "Other side?" I asked looking back but My hand touched it before he could answer.

My world went dark and I woke up at in a cold sweat. I quickly looked around and I realized I was home in bed. "Was that just a dream," I whispered trying to catch my breath as I touched my face. "Not quite," said Ophiuchus and I jumped. I looked at him sitting in the corner closing a book. "How'd you get in here!!" I yelled standing up. "I told you I'd meet you on the other side," he chuckled. "This is not a laughing matter! How were in my dream, how are you real," I panicked. "Calm down my dear this isn't even your home," he smiled and I looked around frantically. "Yes it is," I protested. Everything was exactly how I left it, before I fell asleep. "Look outside," he gestured and I ran to my balcony. He was right.

The sky was filled with constellations, colored in beautiful gradients of purples, pinks, and blues. There was no moon or sun to be seen. Yet it was light enough to be around noon. The buildings and plants looked pastel and had a very subtle glow about them. "I'm... not home," I mumbled. "You're here to do an exam of sorts," he explained walking up to me. "Exam," I asked confused looking back at him. "You'll be going on 12 dates. Each ending either midnight or when you chose to," he smiled. "12 DATES!" I yelled panicked. "Now now, calm down my dear. At the end of 12, you'll rate the suitors, then the stars will take that information and match you with someone who in theory, is ideally the perfect match for you. In your world of course," he finished. I stared at him dumbfounded. "Why can't I get a suitor now," I asked some how accepting the situation. "That wouldn't be much fun, now would it," he chuckled. "If you say so," I sighed. "How about you go get changed and I'll take you to your first date. May I suggest something sporty," he smiled. "If you say so," I said as I walked into my closet and shut the door. I changed then walked into the bathroom to do my face and hair. He sat back down and continued to read.

"This can't be real right!? I have to be dreaming, but everything feels so real. Why 12? Why can't they get the data with like 3 or 4," I thought as I finished up. My hair clipped away from my face and very light natural makeup. Mostly just covering up some blemishes. I wore some black athletic shorts and a cute baby blue tank top. I even put on my old running shoes. I walked out and he put his book away. "You look absolutely stunning," he smiled warmly. "It's just causal wear," I chuckled. "Still. Are you ready to go," he gestured towards the door. "It's not like I have a choice," I said following him. "You always have a choice my dear. If you wanted to leave you can tell me know and you'll wake up at home like nothing ever happened," he said looking at me sadly. "So I can just end this now," I whispered looking at my hands. "If that's what you wish," he said meekly offering his hand. I stared at it for probably to long, he chuckled and said. "Shall we continued then my lady," he smiled. "I'm afraid, but I don't think I'll ever get this chance again. If it's true that I can leave at anytime then... what's the harm in staying," I thought looking into his eyes then back at his hand. "Y..yes. I'll go with you," I said hesitantly and he gently took my hand.

"Wonderful. Now the first date I must apologize, it's doozy so please pace yourself," he explained as we stepped outside. "A doozy? Who is it," I asked getting nervous as we arrived at our destination. Walking for only a few minutes. We stepped into a park. "Your first date is Aries," he smiled and as I gazed out into the park seeing blazing red hair charging towards me!
