Chapter 1
The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies...

Blossom stares up at the ceiling, tears slipping silently down her cheeks. She doesn't understand why she's crying-there's nothing to cry about! she lives in a perfect town with a perfect family-a perfect life!
She releases a sigh and turns under her pink flannels blankets to look at the electric clock. 11:23. She pulls the blanket up farther to cover her bare shoulders until it poking at her chin. She sniffs in deeply and looks across the room at a black shape.
The shape is more of a bundle, rising and falling with soft snores coming from it. Her sister. She flips back to the other side and looks out the window. The moon shines brightly over her house, casting an eery yet comforting light over her house her perfect house.
And she continues to cry.

Blossom sits on her knees, her arms pressed flat on the window sill so her hands are clasping. She places her chin on her clasped hands and stares glumly as a silver mini can pulls out from the driveway next to hers, driving past her house. She watches it drive off until it turns a corner, leaving her view. Leaving the town.
A warm hand brings her from her glare and she shifts over. A girl plops onto the couch next to her but she refuses to meet her magenta eyes. She has no intention or patience for a pep talk from her sister.
"You know it's not so bad," she tries, glancing her deep pink eyes at Blossom. Blossom sits back on her legs but refuses to look at her. She sighs, tucking a strand of loose orange hair behind her ear, and stares at a table in front of them. She starts to follow the tan cracks in the wood as she waits for her younger sister to respond.
"How so?" Blossom finally sighs, flipping onto her butt like her sister and looking at her. She stiffens under the intense gaze from Blossom's light pink eyes and finally turns to meet her challenge.
"Now you'll get a chance to meet new people. We both will!" she says, plastering a totally fake smile onto her lips. Blossom snorts in consent and glances back at the window.
"I bet a couple of old crabs'll move in. Big us all the time," Blossom says, frowning as she fantasizes the possibilities. Her sister laughs and grabs her hand, startling Blossom with her sudden warmth.
"I promise, we'll defeat them together," she says, her eyes locking with Blossom's. Finally Blossom releases a laugh and her sister joins her. "Just promise me you'll keep your spirit."
"I promise," Blossom whispers, smiling. Her sister joins her and the two sit there, enjoying each other's presence. "I love you, Berserk."
"I love you too, Blossom."

5 years later
"Blossom get down here before your breakfast gets cold!" Blossom's mom yells. Berserk glances towards the stares, expecting her little sister to come bounding down them, to no such luck. "Blossom!"
"Coming!" a voice calls out. Blossom comes down the stairs, in a pink shirt with black volleyball shorts. Her floor length hair is up in its usual ponytail.
"Good morning, Mom, Dad, Berserk," she greets, kissing her parent's cheeks and plopping onto a stool next to her sister.
"Ready for your last week?" Her mom asks eagerly, handing two sacks to the girls. Blossom grabs one with a pink B and Berserk grabs the one with a magenta B. They open the packs, switching fruits and same hicks before snapping them closed and placing them back on the black counter.
"Yup, oh can I go to the arcade with Butch and Boomer after school?" Blossom asks through a mouth full of pancakes. She was a year younger than Berserk-only a sophomore.
"Alright, just make sure to be back before 6 and- Blossom Rose! How many times have I told you not to talk with your mouth full?" her mother sighs, staring intently at her daughter with angry blue eyes. Blossom holds in a giggle, gulping down her large bite of pancake and gives an apologetic smile.
"Sorry mom," she says, taking another bite. Her mother rolls her eyes-the closest thing to an okay they got in this family.
"Yes, well Berserk don't forget to pick John up from school. He had a presentation so he'll have his project," her mother says while Berserk nods, barely paying attention. A knock from the door cut their babbling mother off short and she went over to see who it was while the girls wash off their dishes.
"So, the arcade?" Berserk asks, glancing sneakily at Blossom. Blossom drops the towel in alarm, surprised that her sister had actually been listening.
"Boomer suggested it, I'm just going along to see them battle it out," Blossom recovers with a giggle. "What about you? What're you and Mr. Cool gonna do?"
"Oh you know...this and that," Berserk says, turning to hide her blush. Brick and Berserk had been going steady for three years now. They had hit it off right after the boys moved into the house next door. Butch and Boomer were only a month or two behind Brick, just missing the cut off.
"Girls! Three fine gentlemen are here!" Their mom calls out. The girls share an annoyed look and grab their lunches, sticking them in their backpacks as they head out the door.
"Bye!" Blossom says, allowing her mom to kiss her head. She smiles at the three boys, jumping down the extra step on her porch and slinging her back pack over her shoulder. Berserk is right behind her, taking the extra causation to step on the step.
"Hey!" Boomer waves. Butch smiles next to him and Blossom smiles back, coming over to the two.
"Excited for the arcade?" Butch asks, clearly amped to kick Boomer's butt once again.
"You're going to the arcade?" Brick asks, wrapping his arm around Berserk. Blossom couldn't help but feel a right pain in her chest as she looks at them, but she ignores it.
"Yeah!" Butch says, smiling enthusiastically.
"It was all his idea," Boomer grumbles, pointing his thumb at Butch. Blossom giggles at their incompetence and Brick smiles.
"What's the winning this time?" Berserk asks, leaning into Brick while rolling her eyes.
"We haven't decided yet," Blossom says with a shrug.
"Why do you even go to those things?" Brick asks her as if it were the most ridiculous thing in the world. Blossom rolls her eyes and they start walking.
"Because it's fun, though in sure we all have our own opinions of fun. After all you think it's great to suck off my sisters face," Blossom shrugs. Berserk's cheeks turn bright red while Brick laughs.
"Blossom Rose!" She hisses with amusement, lightly swatting at Blossom's back.
"Blossom Rose? Your middle and first names are flowers?" Boomer asks with a laugh.
"Yeah, so what?" Blossom counters, folding her arms and raising her eyebrow. Boomer puts his hands up in surrender while Butch laughs.
"Look out, a flowers got Boomer on the run!" Butch says through his laughter. Boomer frowns and mumbles something while jamming his hands into his pockets.
"Hey why don't you guys wager on that dance?" Brick suggests out of the blue.
"What dance?" Blossom asks, turning to face him while walking.
"The end of the year dance? It was on the announcements," Berserk says, frowning at her younger sister.
"Since when do we listen to the announcements?" Butch asks obliviously. Berserk rolls her eyes but Brick continues.
"I know you both want to ask the same girl, so whoever wins gets to ask her," Brick says with a knowing smirk. Both boys blush while Blossom picks up her head.
"Oh, who's the lucky girl?" she asks, nudging Boomer's shoulder. He ducks his head down and Brick scrunches his eyebrows. He had heard that from somewhere, he just couldn't think straight.
"Sounds good to me!" Butch says, clearly eager to win. Boomer lifts his head and sticks a finger into Butch's chest.
"Bring it!" he challenges. the two brothers glare at each other into Blossom pops up between them.
"So who's the girl?" She asks, tilting her head. Both the boys jump in surprise and look away.
"You'll see soon enough," Boomer says with a winning smile.
"Yeah, can't have you gossiping with all your girlie friends," Butch laughs. Blossom lifts her nose on disgust.
"Girlie friends? I only have two girlie friends and they're the ones doing the bet," she says. Brick and Berserk laugh while moving ahead of the young group, starting towards school. The others drop their tussle and follow after them.
"See you after school," Boomer says, waving to them. Butch sticks next to Blossom's side as they wait for the bell ring and Blossom watches as Berserk and Brick kiss goodbye before separating.
"Is it wrong to be jealous?" Blossom asks after they were out of view. Butch glances over his shoulder at her and furrows his eyebrows.
"What do you mean? of who?" he asks, curiously. He pulls out his water bottle and takes a few gulps.
"My sister," she responds darkly causing him to cough on the water. Once he regained his breath he turns to her with shock written clearly on his face.
"Why are you jealous of Berserk?" he asks. Blossom frowns slightly, thinking.
"I don't know...lets just forget about it," she says with a smile, heading for class. Butch frowns and follows after her.
How was that? Twisty enough for you? well I like it so far, how bout you? Next one will be up soon. See you then! ~ Emily
