Part 37: Proposal: Dil Ko Karaar Aaya!

Randhir was totally mesmerised at the scene. His heart started beating erratically unknowingly......seeing the selfless and pure heart of Chashmish who was herself getting drenched in rain but was helping poor kids cross the roads by protecting them under the sheath of her saree. She had helped 5 kids reach across the road and was now treating them with bhutta (grilled corn). She paid for 4 bhuttas but was pouting sadly because she was not having money to buy the bhutta (grilled corn) for the 5th child. She cutely sat on her knees in front of that child and held her ears cutely. She was apologising to that child when suddenly someone handed bhutta (grilled corn) to the fifth child. When Randhir saw Sanyukta apologising to the kid, he immediately crossed the road and bought a bhutta (grilled corn) for that child. Sanyukta looked up and smiled happily at Randhir.

All the kids happily ate the bhutta and Sanyukta found her happiness in their priceless smiles. Randhir was admiring her, when Sanyukta clicked her fingers which brought him out of his trance.

Sanyukta: Lets go Randhir.....already you are completely drenched in rain because of me....you catch cold also very easily....come on lets go.

Sanyukta started moving towards the car when Randhir held her wrist to stop her and came near behind her.

Randhir (huskily whispering in her ears): Chashmish.....rukte hain na thodi der baarish main! (Let's enjoy the rain for sometime)

Sanyukta almost closed her eyes at their proximity. She felt Goosebumps due to his husky voice....or maybe it was just the atmosphere which had turned hot even in heavy rain.

Sanyukta (turning around): But Randhir.....

Randhir: Come on Chashmish.....you were my date for the day and it was our misfortune that we didn't even have dinner together. (pouting cutely) I am very hungry.

Sanyukta (smiling): Ok....let's have bhutaa (grilled corn).....Anyways nothing can be better than having grilled corn in rain!

Randhir immediately bought two grilled corns from the small stall....as he was also packing everything up and was about to leave, but he prepared last two corns for Randhir, took payment for them and left. Randhir was coming towards Sanyukta carrying two corns, when he was about to slip due to water on the footpath, but Sanyukta caught his one hand and balanced him, but one of the corns fell.

Randhir (pouting sadly): Chashmish....at least you take yours and eat....

He handed her the corn and was about to go towards the car, when Sanyukta held his wrist and whispered in the same way in his ears....

Sanyukta (whispering): Randhir.....lets share it!

Randhir (turning and smirking): Situation ka advantage le rahi ho Chashmish? (Trying to take advantage of the situation Chashmish?)

Sanyukta (hitting his arms playfully): You will always be the same shameless flirt haan.....I can't believe I am friends with you......In fact 30 days back, I wouldn't have imagined myself standing with the naughty flirt who did not even think for a second before flirting with a lecturer of a college.....

They both remembered their first meeting.....(flashback)

Sanyukta enters the auditorium and saw Simran taking selfies with a guy...she assumed him to be someone from the team and so she called her from behind......

Sanyukta(sternly): Ms. Simran Choudhary....if your selfie session got over then please report to Block-C .....the students are waiting for you to make arrangements

Simran immediately got alert and left for Block-C and meanwhile Randhir was checking out the young beautiful girl clad in a Black kurta and white legging wearing spectacles on her flaring red nose....and her long black her tied in a high ponytail.....

Randhir(smirking): Hey Ms. Chashmish...tum toh apni friend se jealous hi ho gyi....itna jealous hone ki zarurat nhi....(naughtily)tum kaho toh tumhare saath main close waali selfie click karwa leta hun(winking towards her..)

Flashback ends......

They both laughed at the memory of their first meeting.......

Randhir(smirking): Waise Chashmish.....humari Close-waali selfie toh abhi bhi due hai!

Sanyukta: I am not taking any selfies with you.....

She was about to run when Randhir caught her waist, pulled her towards himself and opened the selfie camera of his mobile in the other hand.

Sanyukta: You know what.....take your selfie but I won't even smile.....huh!

Randhir (challenging her): You won't smile.....

Sanyukta: No!

Randhir: Yeah you won't smile but I will make sure that you will laugh your heart out in this selfie.

Sanyukta: Huh....in your dreams Shekhawat!

Randhir: I believe in turning my dreams into reality Chashmish....!

Randhir pulled her closer and started tickling her waist.....

Sanyukta (laughing loudly): Randhir...hahaaa......lea....haahaaa.....leave me.....this ....hahaaahaa....this is cheating!

Randhir: Everything is fair in Love and War Chashmish and this is.....

He stopped for a moment looking at her intensely.

Sanyukta (naughtily tickling him): And this is War!....

Both laughed their heart out and Randhir took a perfect selfie.....both of them drenched in rain, standing in each others arms and laughing their hearts out!

Sanyukta: Arrey....because of you my corn is getting cold!

They both started eating from the same corn taking bites at a time. They enjoyed their corn, getting drenched in rain.....They finished the corn and threw it in a dustbin when Randhir noticed a bit of corn on the corner of Sanyukta' lips. He came close to her and removed it with his thumb.....

Randhir (remembering something and smirking): See Chashmish.....sometimes even 21st century heroines also need hero's help to wipe their mouths and its not always a cliched romantic scene shown in films and daily soaps.

Saying this Randhir moved to bring the car towards her, while his words reminded Sanyukta of another one of their beautiful memories!

Flashback

They both finished the lunch together...and when they were wiping there hands....Randhir noticed some gravy on Sanyukta's lips....he bent forward to remove that...when Sanyukta used her mobile and wiped it herself

Randhir(pouting): Kya Chashmish ..pure romantic scene ka dahi kar diya tumne....

Sanyukta(naughtily): kyun tumne kya socha yahan koi hero- heroine ka scene chal raha hai jahaan hero heroine ke lips par se gravy wipe karega........

Randhir(innocently): Aur nahi toh kya.......

Sanyukta(laughing loudly): tum aur main hero-heroine.....chalo ek baar ke liye main khud ko heroine consider kar bhi lun....par tum hero..(teasingly).....tum toh ekdum villain lagte ho.....and by the way main 21st century ki heroine hun...jisse apne mobile ka achche se use karna aata hai...jisme apni reflection dekhkar ..I can easily wipe my face on my own...Unn Dumb heroines ki tarah nhi...ki sab kuch jaankar bhi anjaan banun

Flashback ends

Sanyukta just smiled and blushed a little remembering their conversation and the moment they shared few months back. She smiled at their silly conversations. She was getting nostalgic when she heard the horn of the car and immediately came out of her thoughts and went and sat inside the car. Randhir started the car and began driving. Sanyukta didn't notice but Randhir took a beautiful solo pic of her in his mobile....when she was smiling and enjoying the rain getting nostalgic.

They did not talk much during the drive to home....the silence prevailing in the car was loud enough to express the beauty of their friendship......this silence was loudly narrating the saga of their story....where in the shy, silent and demure Chashmish became friends with the shameless flirt Randhir.....

They reached home, bid each other good night and started going towards their respective rooms, when Sanyukta called Randhir from behind.

Sanyukta: Randhir....!

Randhir (turning around): Yeah Chashmish?

Sanyukta (looking in his eyes): Thank you Randhir.....

Randhir (confusingly): Thank you...? For?

Sanyukta: For....For everything!

Saying this Sanyukta entered in her room, while Randhir kept standing there for a few minutes comprehending her words. Sanyukta herself didn't know that for what did she express her gratitude to Randhir.....was it for tonight? Was it for being the best friend she always needed? Was it because of fighting with her for her......or Was it simply for gifting her reasons to smile and for helping her find her capability to smile and laugh without any reason?.....Maybe that Thank You was indeed for everything he did for her....or simply for being present in her life.

Later that night, both of them changed their clothes and slept with a content smiles on their faces.

Wednesday, 8 AM

Randhir was all ready to go down for the breakfast. He was just keeping his wallet in his jeans when a card fell from his wallet. He picked that card and saw that it was contact card of RJ Siddharth from Radio FM. He remembered yesterdays conversation with him and made a note in his mind to talk to Sanyukta about it. He went down and saw that everybody was settled on the dining table. He went and sat beside a vacant chair, which was Sanyukta's seat. It was vacant for the time being as she was serving breakfast to everyone.

Randhir settled down on his chair when he suddenly started sneezing badly. Sanyukta came near him and kept something on his plate. He thought that she must have served him the delicious French toast that she had served everyone but when he looked down, he saw two tablets on his plates.

Randhir (dramatically): So unfair Chashmish.....you are serving French toast to everyone and two yuck tablets to me!

Sanyukta (taunting): Sorry.....small babies who don't take care of themselves, get drenched in rain deliberately and then don't take medicines at night, get two complementary cold tablets before breakfast.

Randhir: but Chashmish!

Sanyukta (authoritatively): Randhir gulp them down now.....or no French toasts for you!

Randhir (making yucky faces): Ok.....

He gulped the medicines and asked her for those delicious toasts.

Sanyukta (serving him French toasts): Good boy....Baat maante hue achche lagte ho!

Randhir's mother noticed this sweet exchange between them and smiled to herself. Her son never listened to anyone but Sanyukta had some sort of charm, which made her so special for Randhir.

Sanyukta's parents left for their respective workplaces for the day, while Randhir's parents went out for a little shopping. Sanyukta was at home as preparatory holidays were there for a week before exams, while Randhir was free from his shoot.

Randhir went to talk to Sanyukta about the Radio opportunity. He knocked her door and entered inside when she said "come in".

Randhir: Hey Chashmish....are you doing something important?

Sanyukta (Reading her books with concentration and typing on her laptop side by side): Yeah I am working on my thesis.....

Randhir (jumping on her bed relaxing): Ok so not anything important.....!

Sanyukta glared him at his comment....

Randhir: Arrey chill Chashmish.....I was just kidding yaar......but I really wanted to talk about something important with you.

Sanyukta (getting back to her books): And that is?

Randhir: I want to talk about that Radio opportunity that RJ Siddharth offered you last night.

Sanyukta (moving uncomfortably in her seat and then getting more into her books....trying to avoid him) Oh so nothing important.....(taunting him in his style)!

Randhir: Chashmish....when will you stop hiding behind your books haan?

Sanyukta: I am not hiding....I just

Randhir (completing her sentence): You just want to avoid talking about it.....or are you searching for some excuse inside that book to escape this opportunity....(rolling his eyes) yet again!

Sanyukta (standing up and looking at him): Randhir I am not searching for any excuse......its just that its not something very relevant....I mean you know that I am passionate about writing and this opportunity is for singing. I sing just as a hobby....I am not interested in pursuing it professionally....or for that matter I am not interested in making fun of myself on national radio.

Randhir (standing up): See.....this is what I am talking about.....this notion that "you will make fun of yourself" shows your lack of confidence on your talent and skills. Chashmish....not everyone is as lucky as you to have a talent and then have opportunities walking towards them. You are getting a platform to showcase your talent....be it a hobby for you. You know.....everyday thousands of people struggle to get just an opportunity...a platform to showcase their talent but they don't get that stage even after walking miles and miles for that one stage. Here, you have an opportunity that came walking towards you and you are as always ready to say no to it. National radio is no joke Chashmish!

Sanyukta (interrupting him): Exactly Randhir....National radio is no joke.....its a Live show and there is no scope for making mistakes. There is no script and everything is impromptu and here you want me to keep confidence on myself speaking for a population of crores and that too Live!

Randhir: I was not finished Chashmish...National radio is no joke but you have the capability to perform live with accuracy. Maybe you don't trust yourself Chashmish but I do trust you. I agree it's a live show but "you"....the "writer Chashmish Aggarwal" needs a script? Don't joke in front of me Chashmish. You are a writer and words come "naturally" to you.....you don't need a piece of paper to speak your heart out Chashmish and as far as the fact that singing is your hobby and not your passion.....which makes this opportunity irrelevant is concerned then let me tell you Chashmish that we should know how to turn any opportunity in our favour. National radio is a source of Mass communication. That's right that you will be singing there but that 1 hour on the radio, you will have the opportunity to talk, express your thoughts, narrate your story and inspire others......This is your chance Chashmish.....you never know who is listening to you....

Sanyukta: But Randhir......I have my PhD exams starting next month.....

Randhir (showing her his hand): That's it Chashmish.....I have already said what I wanted to say.....I have nothing more to say to you. Because every time I try to convince you for something and sometimes I feel that I am forcing you to do something which you don't want to do. Anyways after 4 days, I won't be there to convince you. You have to learn to take your decisions on your own Chashmish.....I won't fight with you today. Now, its up to you to decide whether you want to take this opportunity or not....and you need not give any excuses to me.....if those excuses work for you to avoid an opportunity then who am I to stop you.....

Sanyukta (trying to stop him): Randhir....

Randhir just turned around and went from there. He just went out, sat in his car and went out for a drive to calm himself.

After an hour,

He had come a long way driving......he was right now driving on a highway. He was introspecting himself. He couldn't really understand his and Sanyukta's connection. It always felt like he cannot let anything go wrong with her. He wanted to protect her, but more importantly he wanted to empower her. Maybe he was always like this.....maybe he would have supported his other friends also like he supports Sanyukta.

He was thinking all this when the ringtone of his mobile phone brought him out of his thoughts. The phone displayed "Chashmish" calling.

Randhir (looking at the phone ringing): I am sorry Chashmish.....today I am not gonna help you.....

The phone rang 2 more times but he did not pick up her call. His phone again started ringing. He was irritated now....so he picked his phone to burst his anger on Sanyukta.....

Randhir (angrily): What is it Sanyukta?

Caller: Ron....its me ....

Randhir (recognizing the voice and looking at the caller id now): Mom...ummm....I am sorry....I thought it was

Randhir's mother (completing his sentence): You thought it was Sanyukta....!

Randhir didn't say anything and was just silent.

Randhir's mom: Is everything Ok Ron?

Randhir: Yeah...(sighing) everything is fine mom.....(trying to change the topic) you went for shopping right? you came back?

Randhir's mom: yeah we came back!......(sarcastically) and If you say everything is fine.....then fine! I just wanted to ask you....where are you right now?

Randhir: Mom....I am just out for a drive.

Randhir's mom: Ok...great....then switch on the radio and tune into....Radio FM Xx.x.....there's a surprise for you....

Randhir: Mom...what surprise?

Randhir's mom: switch it on and you will understand....now goodbye Ron!

Randhir: Mom....

By the time Randhir could say anything more, his mom had hanged up.

Randhir switched on the car radio and switched on to the channel his mom had asked him to listen to.

Radio FM: Good morning......Dilliwalon.....we are back with our in famous talent show "In search of fresh talent from Dilwalon ki Dilli" and you are listening to RJ Siddharth.....aap sabka payara RJ Sid is back with a fresh new talent today. Today we have with us.....someone who imparts education.....someone who plays a major role in creating the future of India by imparting education to the youth. She might be strict in the classroom but believe me she is no less than a Rockstar on stage guys.....So, today I welcome Ms. Sanyukta Aggarwal from St. Xavier's College. So Sanyukta.....how are you feeling today?

Sanyukta: Goooooooood moooorning Delhi.....(being humorous) Wow yaar....takes a lot of energy and enthusiasm to greet the population of Delhi like that. Being a lecturer, I am used to the same old monotonous good morning by the half sleepy students from my class.....maybe they can learn something from you.....!

Randhir was surprised to hear Sanyukta's voice on Radio.

Randhir (in mind): Chashmish went to the radio station on her own......(smiling) now that's like the winner I have always wanted to see you Chashmish...

RJ Sid: Well thank you for the compliment Sanyukta.....I think guys first time I have received a compliment from a teacher in my life....

Sanyukta: Hahaha.....

RJ Sid: So, Sanyukta.....I would like to know a little more about you.....how did you start singing?

Sanyukta: To be honest.....I have always been more of a writer....writing has always been my passion and music....music is like a tranquiliser for me. It gives me inspiration to write. I remember that my dad gifted me my guitar on my 15th birthday after I topped my 10th boards. I never really took any formal training but learned to play it through YouTube channels, sometimes taking help from my friends. I feel music touches the soul....and when you add heartfelt lyrics to music (which is the job of a writer).....it helps you have a connection with god.....music is divine in that sense for me.

RJ Sid: Those are pretty deep thoughts Sanyukta.....so is there any person whom you admire or who inspires you?

Sanyukta: I was coming on that.....As I said my dad was the one who brought guitar for me.....he is the one who helped me write my first words.....but it was someone really special who gave me the confidence to pick up that pen and pursue writing professionally.....he is the reason that I am sitting in front of you today. 1 month back.....I was living my life monotonously....the same old schedule of waking up, going to job and coming back home. However, I met someone and he brought some drastic change in my life....I won't say an "angel" entered my life....haahhaaa....he is definitely not an angel but ....a "Shameless flirt". He flirted with me when he saw me for the very first time.....he is a very naughty but immensely passionate person. He is someone who made me believe in myself....he fought with me for me.....made me realise that life should not be "spent".....it should be "lived and loved". He believed me when I didn't believe myself. I didn't realise when I started seeing life from his lens. He teases me by calling me "Chashmish".....initially I felt very irritated.....but as time passed, as he became an integral part of my life.....this endearment also became dear to me. Now if I don't listen someone calling me "Chashmish" at least once na.....then my day feels incomplete!

RJ Sid: Hmmm....sounds like someone special....?

Sanyukta: He is indeed very special......Just one person is enough to turn your attitude around. He makes me believe in myself! I believe that helping others, spreading love is important but he made me believe that "self-love" is equally important. Loving yourself is very important in today's time. Today's youth has stopped believing in themselves and their capabilities.....but you need to stop comparing yourself to others and start loving yourself. Having said that .....I would say that "change is the only constant in life" ....so change but make sure to have a "positive change". 20 days back, I wouldn't have imagined myself speaking on the Radio.....but today I am here.....addressing such a big population.

RJ Sid: Those are some beautiful thoughts Sanyukta! Before we move forward with you performing for us, we have a few callers.....

Caller: Hello Ms. Sanyukta......I am Aashi and I am a software engineer. I have been in this job for about 10 years now.....but my real passion had always been dancing. Although, today I have everything.....a good job, salary yet I don't have satisfaction. I feel that people who get to follow their passion are very lucky but everybody is not as lucky as them.

Sanyukta was lost in a flashback on hearing the caller's words....

Flashback

Sanyukta (smiling sadly): Tum bahut lucky ho jo tum apna passion follow kar rhe ho....

Randhir: Isme luck ka koi factor nhi hota....If you really have passion for something toh uske liye tum kuch bhi kar sakte ho...

Flashback ends

Sanyukta: You know what Aashi.....around a month back....I had very similar thoughts. That its just me being unlucky for not being able to follow my passion.....but someone mad me realize that in following your passion.....luck is not a big factor.... luck toh sirf yeh decide karta hai ki tum apne passion mein kitne kamyaab hote ho..... I agree that we all have different circumstances and we have to deal with them but we are ready to do anything for our families, friends and so on.....so for once try to give everything to your passion.....I wont guarantee that you will be successful in it....but at least you will have a satisfaction that you at least gave it a try.....otherwise you will always have this thing in your heart that you didn't even gave one chance to your passion.

Caller (Aashi): Thank you so much for the advice, Ms. Sanyukta.....I will definitely give my passion a try.

Similarly, two more callers had a chat with Sanyukta.

RJ Sid: Ok Guys.....we will take one last call for today.....so if you want to talk with this brilliant new talent for the day....Ms. Sanyukta.....just dial 9XXXXXXXXXX.

Suddenly the phone rang on the radio station and Sanyukta pressed the receive button.

Sanyukta: Hello....you are talking to Sanyukta....the fresh talent for today .....May I know your name?

Caller: Hi I am Ran...(coughing a little and modulating his voice) Hi.....I am Ronnie.

Sanyukta felt something hearing the caller's voice.....she felt as if she knew him.

Sanyukta: Hi Ronnie.....so how can I help you?

Ronnie: Ms. Sanyukta.....I have been trying to pursue my passion for a long time now.....but all I have got is failure and rejection. I have failed so many times that now I feel that I should give up on trying.....

Sanyukta: It seems that today each and every caller is a reflection of me in some way or the other. Ronnie I only want to say one thing to you.....someone told me this when I feared failure and believe me I still am very scared of failure but his words always help me overcome those fears.....He said that "Failing Is just another opportunity to try harder".....and failures are those who give up on their dreams. If you don't face your fears today....then there would be no bigger loser than you! These words might sound harsh but they simply portray the reality.....I know that today we live in a world of cut-throat competition.....but what we don't realise is that our biggest competition is to defeat our own fears.....if we let our fears defeat us, then getting defeated by others will not be difficult......if we overcome our fears and face the competition, then believe me.....even if you loose from your opponent, you will still be a winner....

Ronnie (emotional): Tha....thanks for the advice Ms. Sanyukta.....

Sanyukta (realising who was on the call): Ronnie....before you hang up....I want to say a few words for my special friend....your voice reminds me of him and since he is very upset with me today....I want to convey those lines to you.....I will assume that I am talking to him.....

"Kuch ankaha sa.....kuch ansuna sa.....woh dost se badhkar koi handsome naujawan

Apne liye khada hona, apne darr ko hara aage badhna.....mere liye hi mujhse ladna

Mujhe apne pairon par uthana..............aur Bin kuch kahe sab kuch kar dena bayan

Kuch toh hai tere mere Darmiyaan......."

There was silence for a few minutes between them.....

Sanyukta: Ran....Ronnie?

Ronnie: Thank you Chash.....Sanyukta! Goodbye!

Sanyukta: Goodbye Ronnie! It was nice talking to you....(speaking to herself) like always!

Sanyukta spoke those words very slowly but Randhir aka Ronnie still heard them and smiled to himself.

Randhir (immediately taking out the RJ's card and putting the address on GPS): I am coming Chashmish.....

In the whole drive, he continued to hear her show....

RJ Sid: Those were some beautiful words Sanyukta.....truly a writer there in somewhere. So now we are done with the call session and now we would like to hear you sing something.

Sanyukta: Yeah definitely.....now since my special friend is fond of "Romantic songs" ......so this song especially for Shameless flirt.....

Tujhpe Hai Pyaar Aaya
Pehli Pehli Baar Aaya
Oh Yaara

Dil Ko Karaar Aaya
Tujhpe Hai Pyaar Aaya
Pehli Pehli Baar Aaya
Oh Yaara

She ended the song with a beautiful smile remembering Randhir.

RJ Sid: That was beautiful....really heart-touching Sanyukta.....when someone sings from the heart, then just a guitar is enough to give music to the song because rest of the music comes from the heart. On this note, we end today's show....and thank you so much for gracing our show with your beautiful voice and thoughts Sanyukta.

Sanyukta: Thank you.....

RJ Sid: Ok....Kal phir milenge dilliwalon with new songs, lots of thoughts and chatpati baton ke saath...till then goodbye....have a great day and keep your environment clean....bajate raho radio FM XX.xx....RJ Sid signing off....

They both came out of the studio....

RJ Sid: You were phenomenal Sanyukta....thank you for coming on the show.

Sanyukta: Actually.....thank you for giving me this opportunity.

RJ Sid: Pleasure is all mine.....well my shift is over....should I drop you somewhere?

Sanyukta (spotting Randhir's car): No....actually I will manage

RJ Sid noticed her looking at someone fondly and he understood that her ride is already her. He gave her an understanding smile and bid her goodbye!

Sanyukta (sitting inside the car and teasing him): I thought you were not gonna talk to me?

Randhir: Chashmish....if you will say such sweet words for me that too on national radio, then how can I be upset with you?

Sanyukta (raising her eyebrows and pretending to be confused): What words did I say for you? I don't remember taking your name? Did I?

Randhir: Chashmish.....don't be over smart....I know you were talking about me the whole time on your show....you did not take my name because you didn't want me to attract unnecessary media attention because I am a public figure.

Sanyukta: No....I said all those words for someone else.

Randhir: Really? Who?

Sanyukta: For "Ronnie".

Randhir (not realising her trick): Ha....I am Ronnie....

Suddenly he realised what he said and understood Sanyukta's trick...

Randhir: Chashmish....you cheater....!

Sanyukta: What cheater? Cat got your tongue Mr. "Ronnie".

Randhir: Huh....

Sanyukta (pulling his cheeks): Awww.....soooo cute......you are looking like a tomato with this balloon face Randhir....Hahahaha....

Randhir: Chashmish....don't pull my cheeks....huh

Sanyukta: Ok....how about I treat you with Delhi Chaat today? Will I be forgiven then?

Randhir: You also buy desserts for me and you have a deal!

Sanyukta: Ok boss deal....

They both laughed and went to enjoy some golgappe (Delhi chat)

Sanyukta: Bhaiya....keep it less spicy.

Randhir: Chashmish...I can handle spice...bhaiya aap spicy banao.

Randhir had one and started jumping because of the spice...

Sanyukta: See I told you Randhir...wait.

Sanyukta brought ice-cream from a nearby stall and made him eat by her hand.

Sanyukta (rubbing his back): Are you feeling better?

Randhir just nodded and they continued to enjoy their ice-cream and roamed around Delhi.

Aggarwal Mansion,

Randhir's mom was sitting in her bedroom and recalling the past few moments. She remembered how Sanyukta called her and told that Randhir was upset with her. Sanyukta told her to call Randhir and convey her message of listening to the radio. Randhir's mom had heard the complete show of Sanyukta on Radio. She recalled that how much Randhir and Sanyukta have come close to each other.

Moreover, today, Sanyukta's words on the radio and her song that she dedicated to him clearly showed Sanyukta's love towards Randhir. Also, Randhir's care for Sanyukta and his protectiveness was not hidden from her. They might not have said "I Love You" to each other but she could see their love for each other. Sanyukta was the best match for Randhir.

Randhir's mom (in mind and smiling): I think I have found Randhir's perfect better half!

It was 7 PM and Sanyukta's mom came back home from hospital.

Randhir's mom: How was your day Anjana?

Sanyukta's mom: It was hectic Avantika....and Amar (Sanyukta's dad) is also out of station for today...he will come back tomorrow.

Randhir's mom: You don't worry we will prepare the dinner together....kids are also out and Harsh is also in a video conference meeting right now.

Randhir and Sanyukta's mom prepared the dinner together...and were now just setting the dining table.

Randhir's mom (hesitantly): Umm Anjana....I wanted to talk to you about something.

Sanyukta's mom: Yeah say na Avantika.....

Randhir's mom: If I ask you for something....will you give it to me?

Sanyukta's mom (looking keenly at her): Yeah say na Avantika.....Why are you so nervous? Tell me....

Randhir's mom (gathering courage and speaking): I want to ask for Sanyukta's hand for marriage....with Randhir!

Before Sanyukta's mom could react or say something, they heard another voice.

Randhir (Coldly): Mom!

They both turned around and saw Randhir and Sanyukta standing at the door. They heard their conversation. Randhir's eyes were red and he was up for a conversation with his mom.

MY POV

Friendship: A beautiful and truthful bond shared between two people. As friends, we share each and everything with each other. We laugh, we cry, we eat, we share secrets and above all we share a part of ourselves. This description fits perfectly on lovers as well. Yet, there is a thin line between friendship and love. Do friends have such depth of feelings as Sanyukta has for Randhir? Is there something beyond friendship between Randhir and Sanyukta? Is Randhir's mom right in envisioning Sanyukta as Randhir's better half? Will friendship turn into love or will love create distance between two friends? To know the answers to all these questions......you have to read the next part!
