Part 33 Why Fear When I am Here!!!!
Recap: Randhir and Sanyukta's parents meet each other and they both come to know about the past close connection shared by their parents.
After having a hearty chit chat with each other after so many years, Randhir and his parents stood up to leave for their hotel......
Avantika Shekhawat: Anju.....it's already 12:30 in the night, we will take your leave now.....It was really great meeting you and Bhaiya after so many years.....
Anjana Aggarwal: But Avantika....why do you have to go to the hotel? Why don't you guys stay here till you guys are in Delhi.....?
Avantika Shekhawat: But Anju......
Anjana Aggarwal(emotionally blackmailing): No need to explain Avantika....You just call me sister for the sake of it right.....if you truly considered me a sister, you wouldn't deny to stay here.....(sighing dramatically) It's Ok......
Avantika Shekhawat: Ok Ok....Anju.....you don't need to blackmail me emotionally .......We are staying here only till we are in Delhi.......Happy now?
Anjana Aggarwal(happily hugging her): Very happy......
Avantika: Randhir.....call the driver and ask him to get our luggage from the hotel.
Randhir: Ok mom.....but I will have to go to the hotel first as your luggage is packed but my luggage is set up in the room.....so first I have to pack that up and also I have to complete the check out formalities in the hotel. However, I can complete the check out formalities in the morning only as it's already midnight and no one would be there at the reception.
Avantika Shekhawat: You do one thing......just go with your dad and get our and your luggage for now. You can formally check out from the hotel tomorrow.....
Randhir(sarcastically smiling): Yeah right.....I would go with dad if he already hadn't slept on the couch.
Avantika(shaking Harsh): Harsh wake up!.....Come on
Harsh(rubbing his eyes): Why don't you let me sleep Avantika?
Sanyukta: Aunty let uncle rest....you both must be tired from the journey.....Come I'll show you the room.
Avantika: But beta......if not Harsh then I have to go with Randhir......He cannot pack his luggage on his own.....he is very messy and will dump all the clothes in the bag without folding them......and when he will get irritated , he will leave half the clothes there only.
Randhir(frowning): Mom please.......I am not such a messy packer and why are you saying all this in front of Chashmish.....what will she think of me?
Avantika(sarcastically): She will just get to know that her friend who can even jump windows in his show cannot pack his luggage neatly. Let it be.... let Harsh sleep, I will come with you.
Avantika gets up but suddenly holds her back painfully ....
Sanyukta (concerned): Aunty.... are you alright?
Avantika: Yeah, just a little back pain......
Randhir(frowning): Just a little pain? Mom just by looking at your face I can say that your back is paining like hell......Why don't you take care of yourself mom?
Avantika: Ron....
Anjana (coming with Volini spray): Avantika.... come to the room.....I'll apply it. This spray will give relief..... and don't worry about Randhir......Sanyukta will go with him.....she'll help him pack....you come and take rest.
After that Randhir's parents went to their room, while Sanyukta and Randhir went towards the car to leave for hotel.
Sanyukta: Where's the driver Randhir?
Randhir (remembering Something): Oh yeah..... I forgot.....the driver called me during dinner..... he had to leave as he had some family emergency. Let it be..... I'll drive.
Sanyukta: Ok
Randhir (opening the front door for her): After you sweetheart....
Sanyukta (nodding her head annoyingly): You are soooo cheesy Randhir!
Randhir (Sitting in the car and putting on the seatbelt): What Cheesy? I am not cheesy. Chashmish, if there was some other girl in your place, she would have been flattered by my chivalry and you are saying I am cheesy.... huh!!
Sanyukta (Giggling): But you know that I always say the truth Randhir. Now if you are done with your flirty and cheesy tactics, can you start driving?
Randhir (speaking huskily and imitating someone): Where to Miss?
Sanyukta (huskily in his ears): To the stars......
For a moment everything around them seemed to disappear and they were just lost in each other's eyes, when the horn of a nearby moving car broke their trance. They both looked away from each other awkwardly, when Randhir decided to break the awkward silence.
Randhir (trying to break the awkward silence): So Chashmish......it is very much clear that you have seen Titanic and since you remember the lines so clearly......I can say that you very much know what the next scene in the movie was..... (teasingly)......do you mind reminding me what happened next after this scene when both the protagonists were sitting in the car saying these dialogues.......
Sanyukta (not realising his intention): Titanic is a classic movie Randhir and I remember each and every scene of it. After this very dialogue in that car.....Jack and Rose made lo...(suddenly realising what she was gonna say and how Randhir was trying to tease her)......Randhir!(beating his shoulder).....you dirty mind......
Randhir(laughing): Come on Chashmish......wasn't it the best scene.....?
Sanyukta(frowning): Randhir .....you are just impossible!.....let it be.......can you start driving now?.....its already very late.
Randhir: Ok ok......I am driving chashmish.... chill!!
After that Randhir drove the car and soon they reached the hotel. Randhir collected the keys of his as well as his parents' room from the reception. First, he went to his parents' room and collected their luggage as their luggage was mostly packed. He kept their bags in the car and then they went to his room. As soon as he opened the door and Sanyukta entered the room, she slipped on something but Randhir caught her on the right time.
Sanyukta: Ouch!
Randhir (holding her): Chashmish are you ok?
Sanyukta (getting back on her feet and looking at the thing she slipped on): Ewww!! Randhir......how can you mess up your room in such a way? (Looking at the stinky socks on which she slipped) Since when did you not give your clothes in laundry? How were you planning to sleep on a bed full of clothes? (Looking at a mountain pile of clothes) Is there a sofa beneath those clothes?
Randhir (Getting embarrassed): Chashmish, I am not as much messy as this room looks. Actually, today morning when I came to change my clothes, I was in a hurry and I couldn't find proper set of clothes to wear and so I took out all the clothes and threw them on the bed and after a lot of struggles, I found a proper set of clothes which were clean. After that I struggled to find a pair of socks and when I couldn't find it, I wore yesterday's sweaty socks only. After that in the evening I had to come for dinner at your house and I wanted to look presentable, so again my struggle for a good pair of clothes began which resulted in the pile of clothes kept on the Sofa. But I wonder why did the room service staff didn't clean the room?
Sanyukta: Randhir, all your personal stuff is spread all over the room like anything. The hotel staff might have tried to contact you to ask for your permission before cleaning the room but you might have not picked the phone due to shoot or something. That's why they didn't clean your room. At least you could have given your clothes for laundry or you need a person to do that also for you? The hotel staff should charge extra from you to clean a room like this. It seems like a cyclone has hit this room.
Randhir: Come on Chashmish! You are just over reacting. It will hardly take 10 minutes to clean this room.
Sanyukta: 10 Minutes!!! Are you seriously claiming that you can clean this cyclone hit room in 10 minutes?
Randhir (innocently): Of course, Chashmish! What's the big deal?
Sanyukta started laughing loudly at Randhir's naivety.
Sanyukta (laughing loudly): You will clean this room in 10 minutes!!!! (Pulling his cheeks) Randhir you have really got a good sense of humour.
Randhir (getting embarrassed): Chashmish, don't challenge me! You know that I never loose.
Sanyukta (controlling herself from laughing): OK ok......you don't need to get embarrassed Randhir. (Looking at her wrist watch) OK so right now my watch says 1:30 AM. So, I am giving you not 10 but 15 minutes to clean up your room. Let me also see your ultimate cleaning power.
Randhir (Getting startled and gulping): You won't even help me Chashmish?
Sanyukta (nodding her head): No! It will be a good show and I want to enjoy watching it! (Teasing him) Wait let me order popcorn and then you can start cleaning your room.
Randhir: Chashmish!!
Sanyukta: Ok ok. Why are you getting angry? I will not order popcorn. You can start cleaning the room.
Sanyukta somehow found a chair under his pile of clothes, kept them away and sat on the chair and waited for him to start cleaning the room. Randhir looked at her with almost a cry baby face.
Sanyukta (pointing at her watch): What are you waiting for? Come on, start cleaning the room. Your 15 minutes have already started.
Randhir (trying to convince her): Chashmish are you sure that you don't want to help me?
Sanyukta: Absolutely! Although there is one way out of this challenge.
Randhir: What?
Sanyukta: You will accept that one should always think before boasting about their skills.
Randhir (getting offended): You think that I am boasting?
Sanyukta (smiling): I know that you are 'boasting'. Making 'air castles' is much easier then constructing them in reality Randhir.
Randhir: Now you see Chashmish that how I will prove you wrong. (Smirking and pulling his collar) Why fear when Randhir is here!
Sanyukta: Lets See!!
Randhir having no choice, started cleaning the room. He first kept his bags on the floor and then went towards the pile of clothes kept on his bed. He picked them up and threw those clothes straight into the bag without folding them. Sanyukta wanted to interrupt him but then thought that he will himself realise that he is just increasing his work. Randhir then went towards his cupboard. As soon as he opened it, a mountain of clothes fell on him. Sanyukta laughed loudly seeing that. Randhir just glared her and stood up from the floor. He realised that there was something on his face. He picked it up and saw that it was one of his smelly socks. He immediately threw that away and felt like vomiting. Sanyukta was continuously enjoying the show. Randhir then went towards the couch to pick his clothes, when his leg hit the side table and he turned and got tangled with the curtains and was struggling to come out. Sanyukta knew that if she sat 1 more minute, enjoying this show, then surely Randhir would faint.
Sanyukta (Laughing and detangling him from the curtains): This is how you were going to clean the room in 10 minutes. (Mimicking him) Chashmish Why fear when I am here!! Now you must have realized that the fear is because you are here.
Randhir (Grumpily): Chashmish don't make fun of me. What kind of friend you are? Instead of helping me, you are laughing on me. Huh!!
Sanyukta (Pulling his cheeks) Sorry!! Ok now we will clean this room together. OK? However, I am surely telling you that this will take more than an hour. You don't need to fear when I am here!!
Randhir finally took a sigh of relief that now Sanyukta will help him clean up. Cleaning was definitely not his cup of tea. Sanyukta began folding the clothes properly which Randhir had dumped in his suitcase as it is. After setting up those clothes, she went to the couch and his bed, collected his clothes, properly folded them and kept them in the suitcase. After she was done with his clothes, she collected his accessories including his belt, perfumes, hairbrush etc., and kept them properly in a box and kept that box in the suitcase. All this while, Randhir was looking at her working and was shocked to see her cleaning the room perfectly. Sanyukta saw him looking at her.
Sanyukta (narrowing her eyes): What are you looking at? Is any of your stuff left to pack now?
Randhir (Looking here and there): Chashmish you have cleaned this room so perfectly that it looks cleaner than it looked before I checked in. I don't think so any of my stuff is left to pack.
Sanyukta (raising her eyebrows): Really? What about your personal hygiene stuff like toothbrush and all? Who will pack that? (Nodding her head disapprovingly) You know what? You keep standing here like a statue and I will do the honour of getting those things too.
Before Randhir could say anything, Sanyukta went inside the washroom to collect his things. After a few minutes, Randhir went inside so as to help her collect his things. They were almost done and only Randhir's shaving kit was left. Randhir was keeping everything in his small bag and asked Sanyukta to get his cologne from the shelf within the shower cabinet. The shower was fixed above the bath tub only. So Sanyukta stepped inside the bath tub and tried to reach for the cologne bottle kept on the shelf, when suddenly her leg slipped due to the wet surface of the bath tub and so to balance herself, She caught hold of a handle, but it turned out to be the shower valve. As soon as Sanyukta caught that valve, the shower got On and she was drenched in water. Randhir looked at her and began laughing at her.
Randhir (naughtily smirking): Chashmish if you wanted to take a shower, you should have at least told me to go out.
Sanyukta (angrily): Randhir, I will not leave you.
Randhir (laughing): First catch me Chashmish!! (Saying this, he started running)
Randhir was about to open the door when Sanyukta pulled him from the back. Due to the pull, Randhir lost his balance and he slipped straight away in the bathtub and since Sanyukta was holding him, she also couldn't balance herself and fell right upon him in the bathtub with shower running over them. They both were completely drenched; their faces were very close and they were lost in each other's eyes. Her hands on his chest, his hands on her waist and cold water running over them turning the atmosphere around them 'hot'. They were both lost in the moment, when Sanyukta's phone (kept in the room) rang breaking their reverie. Suddenly, everything turned awkward. They both were embarrassed and couldn't look in each other's eyes. Sanyukta was trying to get up but she wasn't able to do so. Then Randhir removed his hands from her waist and held her shoulders to help her get up. She stood up, turned off the shower and gave her hand to help Randhir get up. Randhir held her hand and got up. They went out of the Washroom and Sanyukta saw her phone ringing again. It was her mom.
Sanyukta (Picking the call): Hello mom!
Sanyukta's mom: Sanyukta, where are you beta? Its already 3 AM. Are you guys fine?
Sanyukta: Yeah mom, everything's fine. Actually, Randhir had a lot of luggage to pack, so that took a lot of time but we are almost done now. We are just leaving for home now.
Sanyukta's mom: Ok beta. Take care.....its already very late.
Sanyukta: Mom you don't worry. We will come safely and you sleep now. You must be tired. I have the keys. Please sleep mom
Sanyukta's mom: Ok beta take care!!
Sanyukta: Yes, we will take care. Bye mom.
After she hanged up the call, she looked towards Randhir who was already looking at her. When their eyes met, they awkwardly looked the other way.
Sanyukta (clearing her throat): I think now everything is packed, so we should leave. You can return the key card of the room and complete the check out formalities tomorrow.
Randhir: Yeah! Let's leave.
Sanyukta walked ahead and was about to open the door when Randhir noticed something and stopped her.
Randhir (nervously): Umm Chashmish!! Wait!!
Sanyukta (turning around): What happened? Did you forget something?
Randhir (Not looking at her): Umm......(gulping) Actually....
Sanyukta (noticing his uneasiness): Is everything Ok Randhir?
Randhir (not meeting her eyes): Umm Chashmish.....
Sanyukta (getting irritated): What is it Randhir?
Randhir (closing his eyes and speaking breathlessly): Canyoupleasechangeyourclothes!!!!
Sanyukta (Not able to comprehend what he said): What???
Randhir (Thinking in mind): How should I tell Chashmish that her Kurti has become translucent? Already the situation is so awkward and I don't want to embarrass her anymore. I am such a big fool. How can she change her clothes anyway? She doesn't have her clothes here. What should I do? I can't let her go outside this room in this condition. I have to do something.
Sanyukta (waving her hands in front of Randhir): Randhir, where are you lost? What's wrong? tell me!
Randhir (coming out of his trance and thinking something): Umm nothing Chashmish.....I just wanted to say that can I change my clothes? You know na that I get cold very easily.
Sanyukta: Yeah, you are right. Change your clothes but please make it fast. Its already 3 A.M and mom was also getting worried.
Randhir (taking out a pair of clothes from his bag): Yeah! I will be back in 2 minutes.
After a few minutes, he came out changing his clothes, and kept his wet clothes in a separate polybag.
Sanyukta: Now if you are done, then can we please leave?
Randhir (Taking out a shirt and finally closing the bag): Yeah! Let's leave
Sanyukta was about to open the door, when she felt a shirt wrapped around her.
Sanyukta (turning around): What are you doing Randhir?
Randhir: I just thought that you must be cold too, so till we reach home, it will keep you warm.
Sanyukta (smiling): Thanks, Randhir
After that they both closed the room, set his bags in the car and left for her home. It was already 3:45 A.M by the time they reached. Sanyukta unlocked the door with her key. Their parents had already slept and so they also left for their respective rooms bidding each other good night. Sanyukta reached her room, closed the door and took off his shirt. Then she remembered that she forgot to return Randhir's shirt to him. She thought that he must have not slept till now. So, she turned around to open the door of her room, when suddenly she noticed her reflection in the mirror of her dressing table. She noticed that her kurti had become translucent because of getting drenched in the shower, and even her inner was visible from her Kurti. Now she understood that why Randhir was looking uncomfortable at that time and what was the real reason behind him covering her with his shirt. She was extremely embarrassed but at the same time she was extremely thankful to Randhir for behaving so maturely in such a situation and for not embarrassing her. She then thought that already this night was very awkward and she had no energy to face Randhir right now. So, she thought that she will return his shirt to him tomorrow. She changed her clothes and soon drifted in a deep sleep as the night had turned out to be too long and tiring for her.
Next Morning, 7 A.M
Randhir and Sanyukta's parents were having morning tea together and were preparing for breakfast, while Sanyukta was taking bath. Randhir was jogging in the huge backyard of Aggarwal Villa.
Randhir (Taking a little rest after jogging and thinking): Wow yaar!!!!...... there are so many perks of living in villas. Own backyard for jogging and working out. Although flats have their own charm of living.
With all these thoughts, he was moving ahead when he came in front of a garage and he saw a black scooty parked in front. He went towards that scooty and was just seeing it, when he saw a shining 'S' sticker on the scooty.
Randhir (thinking something): Hmmm this scooty must belong to Chashmish. Strange! If she has a scooty then why doesn't she comes to college on this?
On the other hand, Sanyukta came downstairs with wet hair and was sneezing a little.
Sanyukta (sniffing due to cold): Good morning Mom dad!! (Greeting his parents) Good morning Uncle aunty.
Randhir's mother: Good Morning Beta! What happened to you? Did you catch cold?
Sanyukta (remembering yesterday's night): Uh nothing aunty.....its just a little cold.
Randhir's mother (patting her cheek): Take care beta! I just wanted to thank you for helping Randhir out Yesterday. I know he is a very messy person and so it must have been a task to pack his stuff.
Sanyukta (smiling remembering Randhir struggling with his stuff the previous night): Its my pleasure aunty and its OK to be messy sometimes. He shoots for 14-15 hours a day, then works out also. It must be tough for him to handle everything alone.
Randhir's mother: You understand him so well beta......I am glad that he has a friend like you.
Randhir's mother was about to go in the kitchen when Sanyukta called her.
Sanyukta: Aunty have you seen Randhir anywhere?
Randhir's mom: Yeah beta. He is jogging in the Garden.
Sanyukta: Ok thanks aunty.
After that Sanyukta went to the Garden to find him. She searched for him and finally saw him in front of the garage near her scooty.
Sanyukta (coming towards him): Randhir....
Randhir turned and saw Sanyukta coming towards him. She was looking like a freshly bloomed flower and her wet long hair just reminded him of the previous night and their close encounter. He was still a little embarrassed about that but he didn't want any more awkwardness between them, so he decided to wish her normally and not make her awkward about it.
Randhir (Smiling): Hey Good Morning Chashmish!
Sanyukta (Smiling nervously): Good Morning Randhir! Umm actually....
Randhir: Is everything Ok Chashmish
Sanyukta (Gaining her composure): Yeah.....I just wanted to Thank you for yesterday night.
Randhir (understanding what she was thanking him for): Mention not Chashmish.....and anyways I am the one who should be thanking you. After all, without you, I would still be cleaning my room till now.
They both laughed remembering how he struggled to keep his clothes properly. They were about to move inside the house when Randhir remembered about the scooty.
Randhir: Hey Chashmish! Is that scooty yours?
Sanyukta (looking towards it and remembering something): Yeah, its mine.
Randhir: Really? Then why don't you travel to college on this?
Sanyukta just looked elsewhere and avoided talking about it
Randhir (waving his hands): Hey Chashmish.....helloo? I am talking to you.
Sanyukta: Let it be Randhir!!
Randhir: Come on Chashmish.....tell me!!
Sanyukta (sighing): Why do you wanna know about everything Randhir?
Randhir: Come on Chashmish!!
Sanyukta: Fine this is my scooty and my parents gifted it to me when I topped in my board exams. So during my graduation days, I used to go to college on this scooty only. However, one day when I was returning from college, a small kitten came on my way on the road and I couldn't control my speed and ended up hurting myself as well as that kitten. After that I got really scared and lost my confidence of driving. Rather I have developed some sort of phobia of it. Since then, I never drove it.
Randhir started laughing loudly after listening to her.......
Randhir (Laughing loudly): Oh my God Chashmish!!!!......seriously, you stopped driving because of a silly incident.....just because a kitten got hurt......hahahaha......
Sanyukta (sternly): Randhir! Can I ask that what's so funny in this?
Randhir: Come on Chashmish! It was just a kitten. What's the big deal?
Sanyukta: Oh, so you wanted that some person should have got hurt for me to back out from driving. I don't know about you Randhir but for me each and every life is worthy, be it a plant, animal or a human being. All are equally worthy.
Randhir stopped laughing and gained his composure.
Randhir (smiling): OK I understand Chashmish what you are trying to say but you are getting me wrong. What I meant was that it was just an accident and based on just one experience you completely gave up driving. Ok, did you ever learn how to drive a car at least?
Sanyukta just looked away and didn't answer him
Randhir: Your silence speaks louder than your words Chashmish. Why are you always ready to take your steps back as soon as even a little thing goes wrong?
Sanyukta: So, you mean, I should have waited for someone to get hurt by my driving?
Randhir: Come on Chashmish, there are many people who have faced accidents and mind you, accidents which are much bigger in intensity then what you have faced, but do they stop driving because of it? Leave them, even when a child learns to walk, he falls many times, but does that child stop trying to walk in fear of falling down? Then why did you give up driving just because of a silly incident?
Sanyukta (Sighing): What do you want from me Randhir?
Randhir (Smirking): For you to take me on a ride on this baby (patting her scooty).
Sanyukta: In your dreams Randhir!!
Randhir: It's a dream come true for you Chashmish! Riding your scooty, with a handsome guy like me sitting behind you holding you. What else could you wish for?
Sanyukta (sarcastically): How about ending this conversation and not bringing up this topic again?
Randhir: Nope that's not an option Chashmish.
Sanyukta: As if I will listen to you. I don't need to listen to you and I don't owe you anything. So you can't force me Randhir.
Suddenly Randhir picked her in his arms and she was startled.
Sanyukta: What the hell Randhir? Put me down right now.
Randhir: No Chashmish. Like you are not obliged to listen to me, similarly I am also not obliged to listen to you. Since you are as always acting like a cry baby so I thought that now I will treat you like a baby. Little cry babies need to be carried around everywhere. So let me now take you inside the house like this where both our parents will see us like this.
Sanyukta: Randhir put me down. Don't you have even a little bit of shame? What will my and your parents think. Don't you dare think to carry me like this inside the house? Won't you be embarrassed in front of Uncle and aunty?
Randhir (Chuckling): I think you forgot that I am an actor Chashmish. If I start getting embarrassed on such little things then I wouldn't have been an actor Chashmish. My parents will think its such a nice gesture to carry a little 'cry baby' in my arms.
Saying this Randhir started moving and he almost reached the door, when Sanyukta Shrieked.
Sanyukta (panicking): Randhir wait! wait! wait I will drive the scooty. Please put me down now!!
Randhir (still holding her): Promise Chashmish.....you are not lying right?
Sanyukta: Promise! You know I don't lie.
Randhir (finally putting her down): Fine Chashmish! Now let's go for a ride on your scooty.
Sanyukta: Fine! Let me get the keys.
After sometime, she came with the keys and she sat on her scooty. Nostalgia hit her. The feeling of sitting on her scooty after so many years thrilled her. She wore her helmet and started it.
Sanyukta (sitting on the scooty): Now do I have to give you invitation for sitting behind me?
Randhir: With pleasure Chashmish.
Randhir sat down behind Sanyukta and adjusted himself. Sanyukta looked up and prayed to god for her safety.
Randhir: Come on Chashmish. Start driving.....Why Fear, when I am here?
Sanyukta started driving very slowly.
Randhir (sarcastically): Wow Chashmish.....you are driving like a Cheetah. I am really scared. Do you have the talent of driving slower than the speed of 10 km/hr.
Sanyukta: You don't need to taunt me Randhir. I am already very scared.
Randhir: Scared of what? I am scared that any crawling baby does not overtake your scooty. Come on Chashmish, I would have completed 10 rounds of brisk walking of this garden by now. That's it!!
Randhir came a little forward and his front was attached to Sanyukta's back. He kept his hands on her and accelerated the scooty.
Sanyukta: Aaaahhh Randhir stop it.
Randhir: Wooohoooo......now that's some fun Chashmish.
Hearing the sounds, their parents also came out in the garden. Sanyukta's parents were surprised seeing her riding her scooty after so long. While Randhir's parents were surprised seeing their son enjoying a scooty ride. The guy who loves to ride bikes, was enjoying scooty ride that too sitting behind.
Sanyukta: Randhir please!!!!
Randhir (whispering in her ears huskily): Open your eyes Chashmish! See its you who's driving. I left the handles long back.
Sanyukta noticed that Randhir was no longer holding the handles and that she was the one driving her scooty at a good speed. Suddenly the scooty hit a little rock and Randhir held her waist to balance himself from falling down. However, as soon as Sanyukta felt Randhir's hands on her waist, she shivered, lost her balance and they fell down. Though it was not a big fall, as Randhir had somehow tried to balance it, therefore, even though they fell down, they didn't get much hurt. Sanyukta got a little hurt on her arm while Randhir got a little scratch. Their parents came running towards them.
Randhir's mom: Beta are you both ok?
Randhir (Getting up and dusting his arms): Yeah, mom we are fine!
Sanyukta (holding her arm and still sitting on the ground): Talk about yourself. I told you that we will get hurt but you can't leave your stubbornness. You had to force me to ride it. See what happened now. You keep saying Why fear when you are here. The reality is that the fear is because you are here! Huh!
Randhir: What happened? Nothing happened Chashmish. You are just making mountain out of a mole. Nothing else. It was just a small bump in the road, and you lost a little control. Should a person get scared from a small bump in the road? Its just a sign that we can deal with the things in a better way. You were just too scared and overwhelmed while driving, that's why you lost balance. If you would have kept calm, then it wouldn't have happened. This fall is not a sign to stop driving altogether or get scared of it, rather it's a sign that you just need to brush it up a little. In fact, you were driving after so many years, and believe me it was a good start.
Sanyukta's parents and his parents looked admiringly at Randhir.
Sanyukta (looking up at him still sitting on the ground): You still think that I should drive?
Randhir: No, I don't think so! Rather I 'Know' that you should continue driving (giving his hand to help her get up) and when I say Why Fear, when I am here, I don't mean that I will not let you get hurt or make mistakes, because believe me that there is no better way to learn than by making mistakes. I simply mean that you shouldn't fear because whenever you fall, I will be there to help you 'stand up on your own feet'. Now I could have saved you from falling as well Chashmish, but then only with the thought of falling down you would have given up on driving. I wanted to show you that even in the worst-case scenario, there was only a chance of getting hurt, which you did, but that does not mean you can't get up. You can always get up on your feet again. You must remember that to get up on your feet, you have to at least fall once. Now next time you won't make the same mistake again. Now come on get up!
Sanyukta took his hand and stood up. She realized that what Randhir said was absolutely true. Failing and falling down only helps us to get back on the road stronger. She decided that she would continue to work on her driving and will not quit this time. She also realised that again Randhir helped her to conquer 'Freedom from her Fears'. Her mother saw that blood was coming out from Sanyukta's hand. All of them went inside and they were given first aid. Sanyukta's mother came with an injection towards her.
Sanyukta (scared): Mom why are you carrying around this injection?
Sanyukta's Mom: No more tantrums Sanyukta. Blood came out from your wound, and its rainy season, you never know there was any rusted iron which caused this. That's why a tetanus vaccine is important.
Sanyukta: No way mom. I don't need any vaccine
Randhir (laughing at her): Now don't tell me you are scared of injection also Chashmish.....hahahaha
Sanyukta (emotionally): Stop making fun of my fears Randhir. Its not that easy for me Ok. You can give all the lectures that you want, but I am not taking that vaccine.
Sanyukta's mother (sternly): Sanyukta sit still!! Otherwise, you are so mature, but whenever it comes to such things, you are no less than a baby. Sit straight now!
Sanyukta (making a cry baby face): Mom please.....at least let me hold your hand please.
Sanyukta's mom: No ways, you forgot Sanyukta that right now I am your doctor and anyways, since I have to inject you, how can you hold my hand? You just close your eyes and it will be over before you know it.
Sanyukta just closed her eyes tightly and waited for her mother to inject her when suddenly she felt that someone held her other hand and kept it on an arm. As soon as she felt the injection, she tightly clutched the arm. Soon she heard her mom's voice.
Sanyukta's mom: Sanyukta you can open your eyes and leave Randhir's hand now.
Sanyukta opened her eyes and saw that she had tightly clutched Randhir's hand and he was silently sitting there looking at her. She immediately left his hand and saw that she had clutched his hand so tightly that some marks of her fingers were left on his hand. Before she could say anything, Randhir interrupted her.
Randhir (smiling softly and holding her hand): You don't need to say anything Chashmish. Its fine. I just want to clear that I never intended to make fun of your fears. I know getting afraid of something is not in our hands, we are human beings and so we are bound to get afraid of something, but having said that I can't ignore this fact that 'while getting afraid/scared of something is not in our hands but overcoming those fears is definitely in our hands'. Don't worry, we will overcome your fears one by one.
Randhir's mom smiled listening to her son, while their handhold was telling her another story altogether, maybe something which even Randhir and Sanyukta were not aware of.
My POV: "Why Fear, When I am here?"......Why will anyone need to fear when he/she has a person in life who is there to help them stand on their feet whenever they fall down. Isn't it true? Just ask yourself a question: When do you fear something the most? You fear something when you don't 'trust' yourself. When you don't trust yourself about facing something, losing someone, failing in something or simply getting hurt. In such moments, if you have someone who shows trust in you when you don't even trust yourself, then that person helps you to conquer freedom from your fears. Randhir showed trust in Sanyukta when she didn't trust herself, and it was Randhir's trust in her which helped her to stand up on her own feet. I know its very easy to say such things while implementing them is ounces tougher. I am myself afraid of many things and have many fears, but what is important is that we try to overcome those fears rather than letting those fears take over ourselves because believe me once those fears overtake you, they will not let you live your life freely. 'Freedom from Fear is the ultimate freedom'. I know most of the people have this notion that the male protagonist shouldn't let the female protagonist get hurt, and even in my story there are those cliched moments wherein this happens, but at the same time I want to clear that 'Randhir is not someone who will protect Sanyukta by always catching her before falling down, rather he is someone who will teach her to 'Stand up on her own'. There are 2 ways to protect someone- one is that you shield the person every time from getting hurt, and the other is to push that person to face his fears, keeping in mind his/her protection, but let them face their own battles so that they emerge out stronger. We don't realize this but often 'falling down, helps us to stand up more strongly'.
I know that it's been more than a year since I last updated this story and I know you all must be really very disappointed and many of you might have forgotten this story, but all I can do is apologise for being irregular. I got really busy in my Masters and so I wasn't able to update it. Often, I tried to write a part of it as well, but at the same time I didn't want to lose the essence of this story by updating in haste. I know most of you must have left this story but I was getting a few requests to update this story. I myself wanted to update it and so I am back. I would be glad if the few people who are reading this story would express their views on this part and even criticism is welcome. This update is about 6,250 words long, yet, I know that this part was definitely not worth the long time that I made you wait, but I hope it's worthy enough for my readers to stick on to this story. I am sorry again guys.....but I will try to update it frequently now. Please continue supporting and motivating me through your votes and comments. I would love to know what you think of my story. Have a great day and stay safe!!!!!
