Chapter 7
Dimirti's POV:
*knock knock*
"Come in" Joey came in quietly as he stood upright by the door.
"Master. Dinner has just arrived. Would you like me to bring it up or-"
"I'll be down in a few minutes."
"Yes Master." Nodding his head, he exited quickly while closing my door gently behind him.
*ringggg ringggg*
"Yes mum?"
"Is that how you greet your mother? No hi? Hello? How are you? Is everything alright? I believe that I thought you better than this." She snapped sassily. I can picture her staring at the phone in distaste.
"Alright alright. How are you?"
"I'm fine. Thank you." She replied sarcastically making me roll my eyes.
"So why did you call?"
"Your father wanted to see you so we will be coming down this Saturday. He's also looking forward to try the food prepared by your 'beloved' chef."
"He's not my 'beloved' chef. He's a chef which cooks food that taste like heaven." He's not my beloved chef. He's my future beloved husband.
"Fine fine, whatever. Invite him over to the main house on that day. Your dad wants to thank him for feeding you."
"Sure. Anything else?" I grumbled tiredly as I entered the dining hall to see Joey placing my meal on the table skillfully while holding a loaded tray with one hand.
"Nope! Bye Mr Grumpy. We'll see you on Saturday!" I'm not grumpy...since when am I?
This plan is ideal. I can invite him over to learn more about him and he can't deny the invitation as it's requested by his employer. Thanks mum.
"What's for today?"
"Ground chicken lasagna with salad for the side and tiramisu cake for dessert." Sounds delicious and smells amazing.
"What's in this box?" I held up the long gift box in front of Joey as his eyes lit up in excitement.
"A gift from Ray to you, Master." Untying the ribbon, I opened up the box to see a whole row of freshly baked macarons. "They're rum and raisin macarons, Master."
Rum and raisin macarons? Sounds unique. I've never tried it before. They must be good as it's made by him.
"Help me send my thanks to him and tell him that my parents are coming over this coming Saturday night so he has to make 4 servings of food. 3 for us and 1 for him. They want to meet him."
"Yes Master. I'll be on my way now. Enjoy your food."
"Thank you." Putting the box of macarons aside, I dug into my food or fireworks. The flavours exploded in my mouth so wonderfully. The richness of the sauce and cheese melted on my tongue, running smoothly down my throat. The ground chicken, neither dry nor bland but bursting with flavour and extremely soft and juicy. Perfect.
Taking a photo of the meal, I sent it to my mum and had a reply almost immediately.
From: Mum
Don't make me drool over the phone mister. Or I will have the chef for myself. But damn...his cooking looks fabulous and fantastic! If only your father can cook... :(
To: Mum
Haha. It's really fabulous and fantastic. It's like food served in a 5 star restaurant. You can taste it on your own on Sat ;)
From: Mum
I can't wait. Now, go and eat your food and stop using your phone. What did I say about electronics at the table?
To: Mum
Mhmm...no using. So bye mum! I can't use my phone at the table!
From: Mum
You're crazy......Just like me. Hahahahaha!
Yeah, she's really crazy.
Ray's POV:
*ding dong*
"Hey cutie! You're back!" Chris grabbed Joey by his hand to the table and made him sit down immediately.
"You all haven't start?" He stared wide eye at the untouched plates as I handed him his cutlery set.
"Nope. Big guy here says that it's only proper to wait for everyone to be at the table before starting."
"Sorry for making you wait." He apologised sincerely as Chris draped his arm around his shoulders without care.
"No worries. What matter is that you're here. So can I start eating now Mr Grumpy?"
"Yes yes. Help yourself Joey. Don't be shy to ask for seconds."
"Yeah! I never stopped at seconds. I always get thirds and fourths." Chris agreed with his mouth full of lasagna, resulting in bits and pieces flying out.
"Keep your mouth shut would you? Food is flying all out!"
"Sor-"
"Just shut until you chew finish!"
"Yes Sir." He bite out after he swallowed dramatically.
"How's the food Joey?" He scooped up a spoon of lasagna and place it into his mouth.
"It's amazing! Thank you for the meal!" He stared at the dish amazed, with wide eyes before digging in like Chris.
"No worries. Glad you like it." That's what I like. Seeing people enjoying my dishes like it's the greatest thing they ever tasted.
"Oh! Ray?"
"Yes?"
"The Master parents has invited you over to the main house on this coming Saturday at night. Also, you are required to prepare 4 servings of food for the dinner. Is that ok?"
"Sure. I can handle that."
"Thanks Ray!"
"No problem kiddo." I ruffled his hair messily making him pout in annoyance. Cute.
"Hey! I'm not a kid."
"You're younger than me."
"By 5 only!"
"That's a lot."
"Help me Chris." Joey look at Chris pleadingly for help but he continued to eat his food for a while before looking up cluelessly.
"What? Okay." Chris stared at Joey blankly before reaching over for his plate thinking that he is asking help to finish the food. That dumb ass.
"Take that hand away you pig. He needs help but not for food." Pouting he retracted his hand before sitting back down on his stool.
"Oh...okay." Urgh...he's hopeless.
