Dimitri's POV:

"What are we doing here, Dim?" Ray asked curiously as he walked by my side.

"For breakfast and to pick up some stuffs." Spotting one of my favourite cafes, I dragged him by hand into the cafe and chose a booth. "The food here is wonderful. Trust me, especially their chocolate Nutella tarts."

"You like chocolate and nutella?" He asked halfway as he looked up from the menu.

"Shh. That's my guilty pleasure. Don't say it so loud. What will you be getting? I'm getting my usual." He shook his head in disbelief with a smile on his face before finalising what he wants.

"I think I'll be getting their cheezy mushroom omelette and a cup of latte." Raising my hand, a waitress came bouncing to us with a notepad and pen in her hand.

"Morning! May I take your orders?" She asked energetically as she glanced between both of us.

"Morning Miss. May we have two cups of latte, one cheezy omelette set and one big breakfast platter?" Scribbling down our orders swiftly, she stared at us with much intensity before her eyes lit up in awe.

"Umm...you two are a couple right?" She asked hesitantly, as if afraid to offend us.

"Yup." Her eyes lit up like fireworks and she started gushing like a fangirl.

"Oh my goodness! That's so cute! You two look so cute together, I ship! Sorry. My yaoi fangirl side has surfaced." She squealed in excitement as she jumped on the spot. "I knew my yaoi radar is never wrong." Smiling brightly, she skipped off with our orders in hand, leaving us alone.

"We're a couple?" Ray asks once she left.

"If you don't mind."

"I-"

"Here ya'll go. Latte for two. I made the hearts myself." She beamed widely as she place the cups in front of us.

"Thank you." We chorused together making her close her eyes tightly.

"Can I take a selfie with you two? I never met such a hot couple like you two. Please?" Glancing at Ray, he shrugged his shoulder lightly.

"Sure."

"Thank you thank you thank you!" Whipping out her phone, we stood side by side behind her. Before she could take the shot, I turned to face Ray and placing a kiss on his cheek quickly.  That's when she took the shot with my lips on his cheek and his eyes wide opened with a blush on his cheeks.

"This is so sweet! I'll bluetooth the picture to you two. Oh ya, here." Handing us a small square box, she bounced away in glee and our phones buzzed not long after she disappeared.

"Hey Dim, your favourite." Ray revealed the opened box to me, showing the chocolate Nutella tarts that were nicely packed. This cafe have just became my number one favourite.

After having our fill, we walked into a bookshop and started filling baskets with storybooks, colouring books, stationeries, boxes of snacks and notebooks.

"Why are we getting all these for?" Ray asked as he threw in 4 boxers of colour pencils.

"You'll see." Walking over to the cashier with our loaded baskets, I grabbed a small packet of Konpeito and threw it into the basket along with the items and putting it into my jeans pocket once they're paid.

*skip car ride*

"We're here." I parked my car in front of the orphanage as we got the things out of the car.

"This place...it seems so familiar..." Ray mumbled to himself as he stared at the place with wide and unbelieving eyes. "This was my orphanage!" He exclaimed in realisation as his eyes shot wide open.

"Really? This is the orphanage I often came to play at when I was much younger. I also met this guy whom I hope is now living a much better life." He was my first love...

"Guys look! Brother Dimitri is here!" I looked over to see Luke standing there as the others came rushing out behind him. 

"Brother Dimi! Brother Dimi!" The kids ran out excitedly as they crowded around me and Ray.

"Who's this brother Dim?" Jake asks as he stared up at Ray.

"He's Ray."

"Is he your lover?" Shelly questions as the rest awed.

"I guess so? If he says okay, then we are."

"Brother Ray, are you brother Dim's lover?" Shelly asked Ray directly making his eyes pop open.

"I-" Ray looked at Shelly in disbelief.  Yes yes, kids nowadays are more and more straightforward and knowledgeable.

"Kids! Stop harassing them." Ms Harrison, the orphanage's 'Mother' chided them once she walked out.

"Sorry Ms Harrison." They chorused in union as they bowed their heads slightly.

"It's time for lunch now kids. You can play with them later okay?"

"Yes Ms Harrison."

"Now off you all go." The kids scrambled into the house obediently, leaving me and Ray alone.

"Come, let's go to the back. I want to show you the-" Ray's next words surprised me as I wasn't expecting him to know what it is.
"The maple tree..." How does he know?

Ray's POV:

"The maple tree..." I remember this tree. Just then, memories flashed through my head. Memories of the past when I was still living here. Maple tree...Kon-Konpeito...band...Dim...

Oh my goodness...I look up to stare at Dimitri in horror as he gave me the same look on his face.

"Are you...R-Ryan?" Dimitri stuttered out as he stared at me in disbelief. Nodding my head slowly, I took out my phone to show him the band he made for me when I was 6.

His eyes teared up as he leaned back against the tree for support. I was called Ryan before I was adopted. They changed my name to Ray, hoping that it will give me a new start.

Taking his wallet out, he opened it up and took out his matching band. All these time, we've been so close to each other...I can't believe this.

"I-I can't believe this. After all these years...I thought that I wouldn't be able to see you again. To think that I've finally get to see you again after such a long time."

"Me too...I didn't believe that we'll meet after the day I was adopted. I guess this is fate then."

"If it really is fate..." He pushed himself off the trunk of the tree and held out a small packet to me, "will you be my boyfriend?" Konpeito...

"Yes, I'll be your boyfriend." Taking the packet of Konpeito from him, he took him into his arms, wrapping my in his warm embrace.

"Thank you. Thank you so much. Please stay with me forever, Ray."

"I will. Forever and ever." Wrapping my arms around his, I can't help but feel how right this is.
