I sit beside the window on the plane  , gazing at the clouds happily as I listen to one of my favourite songs . I can’t believe that I finally managed to convince my parents about completing my last year in America’s high school , or more precisely I only managed to convince my dad - whereas mum wasn’t content at all regarding this decision because she told me she had a bad feeling about this , and when I told her that I’m leaving for 8 months only and not forever in an attempt to persuade her - she said it was a mother ‘s hunch.

‘ a mother’s hunch’ ; Ridiculous .

Of course I’m not going to cancel my trip just because of a hunch.

The call that announced our arrival woke me up from my daze. Oh how excited am I to meet one of my best friends!

Alright , I forgot to tell you that I don’t own a house in America . Therefore , I will stay in my friend’s , Ashton’s , house this whole time and he doesn’t mind.

I came out after I finished some procedures to find him waiting for me and he seemed to have been standing here for hours , since his exhausted attributes betray him and reveal this.

I paced up towards him to exclaim happily with a huge grin “ hello my friend!!! You don’t know how much I missed you!!”

“ Me too! Now let’s skip the typical greetings and let’s go to my house ; My feet are swollen from standing for too long !” He grumbled jokingly which made me laugh to my heart’s content.

“ you’re right ! Let’s go ! I’m also tired and I still have to enrol for school tomorrow  “

I got in his black car which is , hell! , looks incredible! I can’t believe my imbecile friend owns a car this beautiful.

We were chatting and bantering the whole ride home , till we arrived to his quiet house . Since his parents’ divorce  , he lived there alone this he didn’t mind me staying with him this whole period.

“ are you going to stare at the house forever???” He brought me back to reality as he mocked me . I chuckled at him lightly ; He really is annoying!

“ Calm down man , I’ll get off. Just give me a minute to reminisce about the past “ i mellowed in a poetic manner and he interrupted me again but this time he was fed up with me.

“ Screw you and this drama you live in , I’m going in and I will shut the door while you finish remembering your dumb memories “ I snickered at his expressions ; oh how how I love provoking everyone - I consider it a daily duty actually and let’s be honest here , I always win this war.

“ okay okay I’m just kidding with you , wait! Surely , you’re not going in without carrying my luggage ? I’m your guest , right? “ I spoke in a fake seriousness as I pointed towards my suitcases which loitered in the backseat and I couldn’t keep the act as a giggle escaped my lips towards the end of my sentence .

He eyed me and rolled his eyes , grunted , then got off and walked towards the house . I saw him slam the door shut and he shouted ;
“ Search for someone else to put up with you . My house doesn’t welcome you here! “ and then his voice vanished completely , which made me panic as I sprinted towards  the door to knock on it aggressively.

“ where’s your sense of humour, man??! C’mon open the door ! Don’t be such a jerk! I’m sure you won’t be okay with your friend sleeping outside!” I proposed , seriously , while I can’t figure out why my smile wouldn’t fade. I waited for a bit and got no response which clearly implied that I’m sleeping in the car tonight.

“ really??? What a brilliant way to welcome someone , Ashton. Screw you! “ I spat out as I settled in the backseat inside the car.

Now , I can confidently say that i have a luck no one else has.

“ Do I look like a four year old to you to cause trouble??” I enquired , evidently irritated , as we made our way to school after this idiot decided to play the role of a consultative father figure .

Honestly , my back is still aching from yesterday as I couldn’t sleep well , not to mention the effects of the flight too . That’s why , i can confirm that I have absolutely no energy to do anything at all let alone ‘ causing trouble’ !

“ Good!” He spoke sarcastically and continued “ here we are , Luke “ he told me after he parked his black car to the side for me to get off the car.

“ I wish you a great day , my friend “ Ashton exclaimed jokingly as I raised one of my hands symbolising an ‘ I hope so ‘ sign and then I entered the cemetery , I mean school .

“ Finally!” I mumbled after having a useless chat with the principle , exchanging the most ridiculous questions . I later got my timetable from him.

“ So , what do you have now?” Said Ashton whom without him ,  I would’ve been lost by now in this school’s huge hallways  “ Unfortunately , maths” I sighed in defeat.

“ looks like you’re going to have a great day , really!” He joked and I smiled and nodded in agreement . As he was about to take off in the opposite direction , he followed loudly  “ I’ll see you at lunch! Good luck! “ he finished his sentence for me to motion my head as if he sees me , then I also left to my next class.

“ For real! Studying is tiring as hell! “ I murmured drowsily while heading towards the cafeteria after someone guided me to it.

Immediately as I stepped in ,  I exhaled dully ; It was totally crowded! Despite the tremendous space but then again , my goddamned luck !!”
“ Luke!!” my intense monologue ending was marked by Ashton calling out to me as he stood in the food queue . I walked towards him with heavy and slow steps due to my weariness.

I stood next to him and then he started introducing his friends to me Michale and Callom . No lie though, they were exactly as he portrayed them ; Kind and crazy!

After a moment I was hanging out with Ashton and his friends while holding my tray of food in a search of a vacant place .
“ too bad , there isn’t any. It seems like we’re going to stay like this for a while” I heard one of Ashton’s friends mutter under his breath. Whereas my eyes caught the sight of a blonde girl with short hair wearing a black jacket . She looked calm and quiet but more importantly , she was sitting by herself.

I smiled victoriously to cheer eagerly as I pointed towards her “ Guys! Look over there ! Let’s go and join her “

I was surprised by the silence that surrounded the atmosphere so I turned around to see what’s the matter and as soon as I faced them , my face wrinkled in suspicion since I was greeted with pale , stressed faces that had fear painted all over them.

“ Whats wrong ??” I asked tentatively to hear Callom , one of Ashton’s friends , replying to me quietly as if he didn’t want anyone to hear “ Are you insane??” After that , he left and was followed by the other friend , the one with the coloured hair.

“ Did I do something wrong?” I questioned disapprovingly with my eyes glued to Ashton and my stare piercing his. He looked exactly like them if not worse .

“ Luke...I think I’m ought to explain some stuff to you first “ He stated seriously which frightened me a little , I mean ,,,who would fear a girl with such beauty??.
