So apparently, Matsukaze is a light-weight when it came to alcohol. He only took a little sip of beer and he was lost from there. He started to follow Tsukasa around, pleading him to spar with him, saying he wanted to become as strong as him. Tsukasa accepted, though it was a really easy win.
Once he fell on the floor, he got a hold of himself again and apologize when he realized he made a fool of himself.
Because Tsukasa specialized in hand-to-hand combat, plus the fact he was already mentoring you, they needed an expert in weapon training. And there was only one man for the job.
When Hyouga was revived, he silently looked around. Tsukasa went up to him.
"You're going to lend me your strength." he said. "If you train Matsukaze in the polished way of weaponry from our time, he's sure to grow exponentially."
Hyouga glanced at you, you awkwardly waved. You didn't really know how he'd act towards you from now on, considering the last thing you told him was to fuck off... Hyouga looked back at Tsukasa.
"I have but one condition:" he said. "the right to revive two people of my choosing."
Your felt yourself getting paler.
'Oh no.'
When they took Humora's and Mozu's statue, you stayed close to Tsukasa, not looking away from Mozu. Because this asshole still scared you to death. Tsukasa noticed how tensed you were, he placed his hand on your shoulder and softly reassured you.
"He won't do anything as long as I'm here." he smiled.
You pursued your lips and nodded.
And indeed, Mozu just took a long look at you, smiled, and looked away. You unknowingly let out a sigh of relief.
"Please don't leave me alone with him." you whispered.
"I don't think anyone will." Tsukasa whispered back. "Plus, I'm guessing he'll be pretty busy."
Before leaving, you went to Hyouga. He turned towards you and you hesitated a bit before speaking.
"You know...you were right."
He stayed silent.
"That's why, now I started to train. So that I can stand on my own."
"...It's not about standing on your own." he said. "It's about not being a burden."
"Right..." you scratched your cheek. "That's also what I'm working on."
"Good." he said before walking away.
'He doesn't seem to hold a grudge that's cool.' you nodded, sighing.
As the days on the sea passed, you realized that you spent most of your time in your training room. So you decided to go outside whenever you'd take a break. And you'd talk to your friends whenever you'd bump into them. Like right now you were talking to Minami and she asked you about how training with Tsukasa went.
"I'll admit," you said. "at the beginning I was...distracted." you emphasized this word, knowing you both knew what you meant."But then I realized that he was really focused, he didn't see anything ambiguous about the situation, and I thought 'damn, I should really get a hold of myself'. And I started to take it more seriously."
"So you don't get distracted anymore?"
"Oh not at all, I don't pay attention to his hot biceps or his muscular chest, nothing like that."
You both smiled, trying not to giggle.
"Just the training right?"
"Yeah of course. He teaches me some moves they're cool as hell. And it's fun."
"Yeah, seeing his glistering body shining in the sun."
You puffed a chuckle, both of you trying to hold back your laughter.
"Sometimes I put essential oil on him when he doesn't ask."
"That's funny."
"Super funny yeah." you nodded. "Especially when he kisses you on the forehead that's hilarious."
"That's his best move."
"Yeah. Sometimes he texts you back."
The two of you burst out laughing.
"Texts you back!" she wiped a tear away.
You went back to training. Tsukasa was wrapping two long pieces of cloth around your knuckles, fingers and wrists, for security. Those hand-wraps, you kept them for most of the day because you just felt so cool just by wearing them!
"Now," he said. "it is very important that you learn of the most painful parts of the body to punch."
"Alright." you nodded.
"The side of the neck, the kidneys, the base of the skull, the chin, the temples." he listed.
"Okay, uh-hu, got it." you nodded each time.
"The jaw hinge-"
"The what?"
"The part of the jaw below the ears." he pointed at it on his body. "The bladder."
"Huh?"
"Bellow the belly-button." he pointed at it. "A direct shot can cause lingering pain. There's also the trachea, just a light punch can collapse a larynx and cause someone to choke, should be only used as a last resort."
"Uh-hu...?"
"And the solar-plexus."
"Where in the world?!"
"It's the soft spot between the bottom of the sternum and the top of the stomach. Kicking it will easily knock the wind out of your opponent. And that's naming a few."
"Man, fighting sports are scary!" you said. "Is that really what they taught you?!"
He chuckled.
"I never had any lessons, I couldn't afford it. All I learned, I learned it from experience."
Your eyes widen.
"...I don't know if that's cool, or scary."
He chuckled again.
"Think what you will." he rose his fists. "Come on. And you better remember what I told you, because I'll quiz you later."
"Do I get a pen and paper so I could take notes?"
"Nope."
You both laughed.
Tsukasa was called to assist with training with the battle team. So for your training of the day, you did some basic workout exercises. It was still really tiring, so in the afternoon, you took a break and went on the deck to François' bar and asked them for something to eat. The place was empty, everyone was working after all.
"Right away Lady (Y/n)." they nodded before turning their back on you.
You looked towards the horizon. Nothing but water. Since you departed, you never really took the time to admire the scenery, a bit repetitive but nothing short of beautiful.
"There, that should do it for another two weeks." you flinched when you heard Senku's voice.
He walked up to François and handed them a box of various liquid they needed to make their cocktail.
"My deepest thanks master Senku. Let me serve you a drink on the house."
"Sure."
He sat at the bar, one stool between the two of you. You kept looking at the ocean, well more like you forced yourself to keep looking at the ocean. François slid a little bowl of ramen towards you and a glass towards Senku. You were curious about what his cocktail looked like but in this situation, you didn't really care. Your heart was just freaking out right now.
Meanwhile, Senku gave you the side-eyes. He mixed the 'three-layer tea latte' and drank it in one go. Then, he turned towards you.
"(Y/n), liste-"
"Oh look at the time! I gotta go!" you stood up.
"Huh? You didn't even touch your bowl."
"Well you know how it is, training and such. Haha! See ya!"
You quickly walked back inside. Senku frowned, pursuing his lips and followed you inside.
"(Y/n)?" he called out.
You ignored him.
"(Y/n)."
He walked faster and grabbed your wrist, stopping you.
"Talk to me dammit!" he said, louder than he expected. "Didn't you say that it's the most important thing to do in couples?"
You let out a big sigh.
"Look, I'm sorry." he said.
You looked back at him.
"Is that what you wanted to hear?"
You frowned and shook his hand off, facing him fully.
"No!" you said, fuming. "I want you to say sorry only if you mean it!"
"Why does it matter anyway?! You're here, you're here for the ride!"
"It does matter! You still don't want me to be here!"
"I literally never said I didn't want you to be here!"
"Well whatever you wanted, you ended up calling me a burden and making me feel like shit!"
"Yes and that I'm really sorry for!"
He pursued his lips and glanced towards the door which led to the deck. You looked at it too before gesturing him to follow you.
You went to your training room, sitting face to face. Now you could talk without risking anyone to hear.
"I said before that relationships, and the feelings that come with it, cloud the mind. And I guess that's what happened there." Senku said, looking down. "I'm sorry."
"I have to apologize too." you said. "Because, you're right, I do messed things up. And it just worries everyone. Including you I hope." you smiled.
"Of course." he mumbled, still looking down.
"But I'll be better from now on." you held his hand.
"...We're good now?" he looked at you.
You chuckled and stood up, still holding his hand. He stood up too and you gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"Yeah we are."
"Thank god." he sighed. "It was killing me!"
"Oh! Not having me by your side?!" you jokingly snuggled up on him, hugging his arm.
"I was more referring to the glances from everyone every time we were in the same room." he pushed your face away. "And the fact that it was clearly eating you up on the inside."
"But you missed me too right?"
"Well, yeah..." he mumbled, looking away.
"Aww~!"
"It's cool for you," he said as you both walked towards the door. "now you won't have to pretend to train with Tsukasa anymore."
"Wait what?" you stopped.
He stopped too and looked back at you. What there a misunderstanding happening?
"Oh." you said. "Actually, I'm serious about my training."
"What?" he frowned slightly.
"I had a bit of a self-discovery and I realized that I do want to get stronger, I do want to train hard."
"...Oh." Senku glanced to the side. "I just think it's a bit of a waste of time."
"A waste of time?" you let go of his hand, putting yours on your hips. "For who?"
"I'm just saying. We already have a whole battle team, why would you workout when you know very well you won't ever be at the same level as them." he shrugged. "So really, it's a waste of time for everyone."
Your jaw dropped in shock. You leaned closer.
"I don't like you when you're jealous." you harshly said before walking out.
Senku stood there and placed a hand on his mouth. His eyes wide open as if he just now realized what happened.
'What the fuck did I just say?' he thought before walking out.
"Tsukasa!"
"Huh?" he turned back to see you walking towards him. "(Y/n), I'm almost done with the battle team, I'll join you in a mome-."
"Think fast! Go!" you now ran at full speed.
"Huh?! Wai-!"
You tried to punch him in the face but he blocked your attack with his hand. When you grabbed his wrist, he realized something. You purposely punched him with your non-dominant hand, knowing he'd block it with his own dominant hand, now you could easily grab his wrist without him putting much defense. Now holding onto him with both hands, you turned around and pulled as hard as you could, sweeping his feet and hunching over. With a cry of surprise, Tsukasa got flipped over and fell on his back. The loud noise it made caught everyone's attention.
"BOOM BITCH!" you shouted, still standing.
A short moment of silence passed before everybody cheered you on.
"(Y/n)-chan!" Gen exclaimed, as hyped as everyone else. "Do you realize what you just did?!"
"Yeah! I kicked his ass!"
"Not only that! You're the first person to beat Tsukasa in hand-to-hand combat!"
Your eyes widen and you gasped.
"Oh! My god!" you raised your fists in the air. "Fuck yeah!!!"
After you had fun being hyped by the crowd, you walked back to Tsukasa, who was still lying down, processing what just happened. You looked down at him and smiled, with your hands on your knees.
"That's not fair." he smiled back. "I wasn't ready."
"In a real fight, you're bound to be caught off guard." you raised an eyebrow and offered your hand.
He laughed at you helped him stand up.
"I'm proud of you." he smiled, shaking your hand. "Your training paid off."
"It's all thanks to you really. Plus I still got a lot to learn." you let go of each-other. "Shall we go?"
"Actually, I think we should stop for today. As a gift to your little victory."
"Yeah right. More like you're tired from me kicking your ass!"
You both laughed and waved before you walked away.
Your smile fell when you saw Senku. As you walked passed him, you stopped and leaned closer to him.
"A waste of time huh?" you said in a joking tone before getting serious again. "Look. This is a you problem, you either take care of it or you don't. And when you do, then you can come to me."
And with that, you walked away. Senku looked at you and groaned, rubbing his face and wondering what to do.
As you walked away, you couldn't help but feel pride in what you just did. But though it was a great way to show the results of your training, your first thought was really to just let your anger out.
'Poor Tsukasa! I'm sorry~!' you tried not to laugh.
Meanwhile, Gen had a large smile on his face as he made his way to François' bar. With the most carefree of attitude, he ordered a drink, took a seat at a little table isolated from the others, and waited.
Because he knew that soon enough, someone will come and take the seat across from him.
All according to his psychological divination!
