On your guards

"You recreated shampoo?!?!?!" you exclaimed, making Senku laugh. "Where the fuck is it?! Give it to me right now!"
"Why?" Chrome asked as he handed you the bottle.
"What do you think?! This is not hair right now!" you pointed at your head. "This is fuckin bear fur! It's unbeara-." your expression fell as you just realized what you've done, clearly regretting it.
Senku rolled over laughing.

So Mozu was provided some sick outfit made by Yuzuriha, and went to beat some guys under-cover, those guys would then report the attack and say those hooded warriors had an inhuman amount of strength and were using magic (that really was just Gen and hand mirrors).

Meanwhile, the science team had to create some kind of weapon to stop Mozu once he'll try and kill them all.
They made a gun.
And as you all looked at it, there was a tense silence. Guns were such a symbol of so many bad things, you couldn't wrap your head around the fact that you'll use one, towards a human being none-less.

"Senku. At the very start of this all..." Taiju spoke. "You, Yuzuriha and I had no choice...we needed to make it, so we headed to Hakone." he paused. "Looking back on it now...that was years ago."
"Roughly 3 years." Senku nodded. "It's been a long time, but in the end, humanity wound up here after all." he chuckled. "With this, our journey to hell has been decided!" he placed his hands on his hips. "Be you old, young, man or woman, it didn't matter. Humanity, in other words, Homo-sapiens were able to wrest control of the Earth  as its mightiest life from and what allowed them to achieve that, was God's and the Devil's invention."
In another moment of silence, everyone's attention went back to the gun.

"I'm gonna say it." you broke the silence. "Like, if we really have to use it we'll use it, but I don't like it." your eyebrows furrowed. "It's just...in stories, it's always the thing that starts the train wreck. Like it's all going downhill from this moment."
"Tools are neither of God or the Devil." Ukyo said. "The ones who decide to use them are humans after all." he paused, looking down. "I'm sorry everyone. With our current situation, I'm sure you'd just tell me we can't afford to be idealistic and philosophical right now..." he clenched his fists. "But regardless, if at all possible, I still just don't want to kill anyone. So...at least until the last moment..."
"That's not idealistic at all!" you exclaimed. "It's very noble and kind of you!"

"Hahaha! You've both got it wrong!" Ryusui exclaimed louder. "Not killing isn't idealistic or ethical or anything like that. When you kill someone, their friends and family will bear a grudge against you for all eternity. Which means they're as good as enemies! That's why we're not going to kill anyone!" he snapped his fingers. "Because that's what you call being logical!"
You and Ukyo smiled.

"Besides," Senku said, holding the gun. "I'm not sure this could kill in the first place. Best case scenario, we could use it as a tranquilizer gun."
"Oh, that's neat." you smiled.
"Well, we can just pump any small fry that comes our way full of lead to stop them in their tracks. Then if we can steal the petrification ray, we can just stone and unstone them, and they'd be good as new!" and evil smirk formed on his face. "So, when you look at it that way, it's pretty much the same thing as a tranquilizer gun, right~?!"
You laughed.
"Oh man," you sighed. "I needed that."

Of course, you guys weren't gonna be the one to fire it, it needed to be someone with experience and also a license. And so you revived Yo! Amaryllis persuaded him to not get any stupid ideas and he demonstrated his skills by killing a poisonous snake. Needless to say you guys were impressed.

So here's the plan: you'll do your performance as the holy priestess of whatever, and if they just give you the petrification ray, that's great. But if that doesn't work, if they end up attacking you, then plan B, you guys kick their ass (at least, it'll look like you will, with Mozu's help), they'll launch the weapon and that's where the drone comes in.

You instructed Amaryllis to find the spot with the best acoustic possible on the island.
"How am I supposed to measure such thing?!" she asked once you explained what acoustic was.
"Just shout and listen for the best echo." you shrugged.
You also needed your diamond, but thanks to Ryusui wrapping his arms around you when you were both statues, they didn't even notice it! So you still had in with you. Then you went to Senku and told him you're gonna need your guitar. And for that, you had to call Mozu.

"Listen." you said as he stood in front of you. "I need something for the ritual. It's very important."
"Why don't you ask your gods to give it to you?" he raised an eyebrow.
"The gods are not a delivery service what is wrong with you?!?!" you glared at him.
He just chuckled. It ticked you off that, even though he bought your act, he still wasn't taking you seriously. You couldn't wait for your little concert to assert your dominance once and for all! You tried not to smile at that thought.

"It's an instrument. It's in a storage unit on the ship," you turned around, looking for a sheet of paper and some charcoal. "I'll draw out the plan for you, and what the instrument looks li-." you paused, pursuing your lips as you realized something.
"Something wrong?" Mozu tilted his head.
"Actually..." you turned around. "someone should go with you."
Your friends glanced at you, not understanding the reason behind this change of plan. Senku got it though. Your guitar was going to go through some drastic changes, if Mozu sees those changes, he'll get suspicious. And it'd be disastrous if he realizes all your instruments have nothing magical about them.

He would've gladly pick Gen or a member of the power team which they revived not long ago. But then, Mozu smiled.
"Why don't you come with me." he said, more as an affirmation than a question.
Everybody turned towards him, fixing him with big eyes. He felt their stare but didn't look away from you.

"...Do you want me to die?!" you frowned. "Is that what that is?!"
He chuckled.
'Quit chuckling!!!'
"I'm just saying, you're the one who knows where your artifact is better than anyone. Unless you really want me or some other guy to go through your holy stuff."
"Alright then."
'(Y/N) ARE YOU INSANE?!?!' everybody thought.
Even Senku was taken aback by your casual response, his mind racing.
"Wait for me on the boat, I'll change into something more discreet."
"Take your time." he said, leaning against his spear.

"(Y/n)-chan." Yuzuriha whispered as she handed you a cloak. "You do realize how dangerous Mozu is right?"
"Yeah, he's strong right?"
"He's more than just strong!" Amaryllis harshly whispered in panic.
"He's like Tsukasa-level of strong!" Gen added.
You took a moment to think about it. It might've been because you knew Tsukasa well, but comparing these two was just impossible for you. Like an apple to a leek. You sighed and put on the black cloak.
"It's fine~." you just said. "I don't think he'll do anything before the concert." you looked at Amaryllis. "He has high expectations remember?"

You walked to the car-lab to get the key to the storage unit.
"Yes, I'm coming!" Magma appeared out of nowhere in front of you and turned you around. "Say you forgot the key." he whispered.
You frowned, but trusted him, so you didn't say anything.

Mid-way, Senku walked towards you with decisive steps. As your paths crossed, he stopped and placed something in your hand. You stopped to look at what it was. A pineapple turned into some kind of grenade, you frowned and looked back at him. Your faces inches away from each-other.
"If he tries anything." he whispered before you could ask anything, his voice dead serious. "Pour its content right on his face and run."
You smiled, your heart warming up. If Mozu wasn't there, you'd kiss him on the cheek.
"I'll be fine. You go and finish the drone."
He frowned as he watched you walking away.

As Magma brought you both to the ship, you could feel Mozu's stare on your back, and you knew that Magma was glaring at him, while you did your best keeping your eyes forwards. It was a real stare chain situation.
To get on the boat without getting much attention, there were those ropes you had to climb. But considering you really average strength, just keeping a steady grip took all of your energy and you kept slipping every time you tried to go up. Seeing your face getting all red, Mozu grabbed you by your waist and pulled you close to him.

"I'll get you up there, just hang on." he smiled.
"Th-thanks." you quietly said, blushing and looking away.
You thought that muscles wouldn't have this effect on you after all this time but nope! He was a real dick but the guy was jacked! Why always the hot ones?!?! And why was his whole chest exposed?!?!
'This is not a good armor at all!!!' you thought.
Meanwhile, looking at you panicking, Mozu slowed your ascension on purpose. Also he really liked your hair.

Finally on the ship, he took a second to check if there were any guards around. A few moments passed and he gestured you to walk first, considering you knew the way, you put on your hood and walked passed him towards the hold, him not far behind. Though you didn't know just how much you're standing on thin ice just by being alone with him, you did feel a certain feeling of discomfort. Similar to the first time you met Gen. So right now, you just hoped it'd turn out like before when he'd turn out to be not that bad. Though, given that even Senku was weary of him, you didn't think it was going to be the case.

"Your confidant, that Senku guy..."
'Oh god no! Conversation?!?!' you didn't turn around and kept walking.
"You two seem pretty close."
"Well yeah, he is my confidant."
"So are you guys close or are you, you know," he paused, leaning closer. "close?" he said, slower.
"Wha-no!" you turned around. "We're just friends!"
'We're just bros! Bros that kiss sometimes!' you repressed a laugh.
"As a priestess I must stay pure, and away from that type of things!" you continued.
"Heh, strange." he took a step closer, smirking. "You seemed like the type who'd break the rules."
You frowned, getting away from him before he could corner you against a wall.
"Not *those* rules!" you said before walking away.

The way to the storage unit was short, but damn did it feel like forever. But on the way there, you thought about something. Something must be checked and it now was your goal to do it! Your mind was racing for a way to do that while coming across as natural.
Now in front of the door, you glanced at Mozu who was observing it. With its steel lock, they couldn't open it before, so he was wondering what was inside. You patted your non-existent pockets, but you didn't say anything, waiting for him to lose his patience.
"What's wrong?" he eventually asked.
"Uh..." you kept patting, sounding a bit panicked.
"What is it? Come on."
"Give me a fuckin second here!" you said in english, looking pissed off so that it'd seem like what you said was out of frustration.

His eyes widen. He didn't understand what you said, but he did recognized the word 'second'. It was what Kirisame would say when using the petrification weapon. Given his reaction, you figured that it wasn't something he heard everyday, so english was not a second language to them after all. You gasped, like you realized what you just said.
"I'm sorry I..."
"I thought there was a whole process for speaking the gods' language." he smirked.
'Do you take *anything* seriously?!'
But at least that was out of the way now.
"I forgot the ke-"
"HOLY PRIESTESS!"

You both flinched and turned around. Magma was running over, sweating bullets.
"Magma?!"
"I just received your mental message! Here's the key!" he handed it to you.
Your heart sunk.
'You idiot! It doesn't make sense chronologically!!!'
Indeed, it's been only a minute since you 'realized' you 'forgot' that key. Which means that it took him a minute to get back to the cave, then come back. When really he went full speed as soon as the two of you stepping in the hold. You were too scared to look at Mozu but you just knew he was thinking the same thing. Your mind raising, you took the key.

'Act natural act natural act natural!' your mind was racing. 'Think of something think of something think of FUCKIN SOMETHING!'
"Wow! Thanks Magma! My best friend!" you exclaimed with a huge smile. "You didn't have to use the last hyper-speed pill though!"
"Hyper-speed?" Mozu mumbled.
But unfortunately for him, something very confusing has started: a scene improvised by you and Magma.

"Ahaha! I'm sorry holy priestess!" he scratched the back of his head. "I just thought it was important that you have it as soon as possible!"
"That's okay Magma!" you said as you opened the door. "I respect the hustle!"
"Respect the...what?"
"Boy oh boy! Here there are!" you walked in with big happy-go-lucky steps.
"Man oh man! Those sure look magical!" Magma exclaimed, looking around.
"That's because they are!"
"How amazing!"
You both laughed. Specifically seven 'ha's before suddenly stopping.
"Whoop! There it is!" you picked up your guitar.
"Great!" Magma took it and lifted you up, making you sit on his shoulders. "Let's go holy priestess, before someone notices us! Also you need to train!"
"Sure thing Magma!" you waved at Mozu. "Bye Mozu bye~!" you said as Magma rushed away right after locking the door again.

Mozu stood there for a moment, processing what just happened. Things took a turn so suddenly, it didn't gave him time to think. It was funny to watch though.
"...what?" he giggled.

Meanwhile, still on Magma's shoulders as he rode the boat back to the cave, you were slapping his head. It didn't hurt him of course, but it was annoying.
"Stop it already!" he exclaimed.
"I can't believe they call *me* reckless when you're the one who almost fucked us up!"

"Acoustic guitars are hollow, that's what makes their sound." Senku explained after yours got smashed into pieces. "But for this, we'll only need the strings and the top half." he picked up said parts.
"For...what exactly?" Gen asked.
"We're upgrading it to electric!" you smiled.

"An electric guitar?!" his jaw dropped.
"Woa~! So cool!" Taiju's eyes lit up, so did Chrome's.
"A guitar that's electric?! What could that sound like?!"
"Well, it's a stone age electric guitar, so it would probably sound pretty rusty." Senku said.
"But it's not like we're looking for modern age quality." you added. "If anything, it'll improve the 'from beyond' feel we wanna convey here."

Senku walked to the lab.
"(Y/n), handing the mic to you for a bit."
"Got'cha!" you turned towards the other. "So, what exactly makes a guitar electric?"
"Well, the sound right?" Gen said. "If you don't plug it to an amplifier, it will make barely any noise. I guess because it's not hollow."
"Right, and it's all thanks to the pickup." you explained. "It's like the core of the instrument. It transforms the strings' vibration into the electric current that's sent to the amplifier. In order to make music, and electric guitar literally makes electricity!"
"That's crazy insane!" Chrome exclaimed. "How does it work?!"
"Uh..." you turned back. "Senku~?!"

"(Y/n)," he came back, holding a few magnets and a long copper wire. "I'm sorry but I don't thing we can make you a guitar lever."
"Oh, that's okay. It's not necessary."
"Lever?" Suika tilted her head.
"It's also called a whammy bar. It's a little lever at the base of the guitar, it loosen the strings to make the sound all wobbly."
"A tremolo." Senku leaned closer. "It's called a tremolo."
"Right, that."
"You haven't answer me!" Chrome exclaimed. "How does a pickup work?!"

"A pickup is basically six magnets wrapped around a copper wire." he handed the magnets and one of the wires to Kaseki, who also collected the guitar's wood to later craft its new body. "One for each string. Together they form a stable magnetic field, and when you play a note, the vibrating metal strings disturb that field and produce an electric current in the coiled copper. Keeping up with the strings' movement: it creates a note." he chuckled. "The laws of electromagnetism are used to make music. In other words, the electric guitar is the perfect fusion of music and science!"
"Boom!" you pointed at him. "There can be one or more pickups in an electric guitar, depending on where it's placed (high or low), it can be high register or more bass-like." you looked at Senku. "But I'm guessing that we can only make one right now, right?"
"Yep." he showed you the other copper wires. "And while our trusty artisan makes the body and the pickup, we'll have to make the strings."
Gen sighed at the sight of yet more work.

While your group was coiling the copper wires around the guitar strings, Senku noticed you kept glancing at him.
"What?"
"I'm trying to imagine you as a girl."
"Urh~ really?!" he rolled his eyes.
"I still can't believe I missed that!"
"Just let it go already!"
"Don't be embarrassed, I'm sure you looked very handsome."
"Don't patronize me!" he glared at you.
You giggled and he turned around with a pout. You kissed him on the cheek and got back to work, still smiling. He groaned.

"There's something I don't understand though (Y/n)-chan." Gen said. "I thought you were making dubstep."
"I am." you said, not looking up. "Obviously with what we have, we can't make a loopstation or anything too complex or modern." you glanced at him. "And after all, we're not even halfway done!"
He raised an eyebrow in confusion, you looked at Senku.

"I'm gonna need a few tweaks on that guitar." you smiled.
"Kukuku! I'm listening." he smirked.
And then you began to brainstorm like crazy. Between you both, creative sparks were flying and everyone could see it.
