Looking for Sai

The thing Ryusui and François seem to be most excited about going to Spain was the opportunity to make olive oil again. Which, once they mentioned it, you were hyped about too. Until now, you forgot how important that ingredient was for cooking.
"The fluorite's just a footnote?!" Taiju exclaimed.
"I can desire multiple things at once, can't I?" Ryusui smiled.
"Desire is noble after all." François added.
"The new Perseus will take us around the world, to obtain every last thing we desire! We're charting a direct course across the Atlantic to the land passionate Spain!"
"It's hard to imagine all these places with just their names alone." Kohaku folded her arms, smiling.
"Suffice to say, they're quite far away." Gen said, not really excited about this.
"Don't worry though, we'll get there in no time with this baby!" you slapped the wall on the ship with a big smile.

Indeed, you've reached Barcelona in less than a week. Ryu started right away with finding olives to harvest, with the help of Chelsea. While this was going on, you and the others set up camp. Senku even took the opportunity to offer going sightseeing.
"Is there anything left to see?!" Gen asked, clearly wanting to stay and lounge around. "Does *Stone World* ring a bell?"
"We're in a completely different part of the world!" you exclaimed, wrapping an arm around Senku's. "There are plenty to see!"
You all went out to explore and chose a proper spot to settle down, in no time, olive oil was acquired. And François didn't waste any time preparing a feast for everyone.
"I hereby present authentic ajillo," they said. "made with extra virgin olive oil. And over here, we have fisherman's whim pasta."
"What a name! As decadent as the fish itself!" Chrome exclaimed, your and his mouth watering at the sight of the food.

"Aaaah~ that familiar olive oil aroma really beings me back." Gen said as you all started eating.
"I'm having flashbacks!" you held a temple. "And I've never been here before!" you wheezed.
"Now this place feels more like Spain for real!" Ryu nodded proudly to himself. "For a taste of the local vibe, start at the dinner table!"
You chuckled. He never used the term vibe before, he probably got it from you.
"It's weird, we're starting from scratch all over again. But now that we have all the ressources we need, this is a lot more fun!" you smiled at Senku.
"And a lot quicker too." he nodded. "By now, we know the gist."

After this food test, you revived a bunch of people and invited them to enjoy a nice welcome back banquet. The small amounts of Spanish you knew were from songs and the time you spent in South America with the locals, so François taking the role of interpreter was a blessing.
"I'm still lacking," they said. "but earning the trust of international guests means showing respect to the local culture. As Lady (Y/n) showcased with her own welcome party."
"Aww~ you're flattering me!" you scratched your head, flustered. "I feel bad, I didn't have enough time to prepare anything."
"Non-sens." they shook their head. "Cooking is much quicker than crafting instruments and preparing a concert. Besides, let the Nanami corporation have its moment to show off its skills." they said with a small smirk.
You raised an eyebrow and noticed Ryu snickering in his corner.
'Are they planning on buying the people with food?!' you smiled. 'Devious little bastards.'

Just then, you all heard the sound of something coming closer and closer. You looked over and was shocked to see Chrome and Kohaku, running over, being chased by a bunch of wild bulls and cows, well, mostly Chrome.
"Chrome! What the hell did you do?!" you exclaimed.
"I didn't do anything! Why are they after *me*!"
"Hah! You're no stranger to being hunted by beast, explorer king Chrome!" Kohaku smiled.
"Second (Y/n)! Help~!"
"I'm not moving dude." you shook your head. "Like, I love you, but I'm not taking on a bull."
"A bull you say!" Ryu's face lit up. "What fun! We are in Spain after all!"
He stood up from the table, as if he's been waiting for this moment his whole life. As if they were waiting for their cue, François tossed him a bright red tablecloth, which he caught without even looking.
'God that's hot.' you couldn't help but think.

And just as effortlessly, he used the cloth to lure the leading and most aggressive bull in and then pull away just in time for it to collide with a tree, knocking it out.
"Olé!!!" you and the crowd cheered.
"God! That was hot!" you added.
He winked at you with a finger gun, making you giggle. In his corner, Senku was giving you the side eye. The bull, along with the others which have now calmed down, were brought to an enclosure, and you all went back to the party.

"You're a bullfighter too Ryusui-chan?!" Gen asked.
"Haha! Not by trade! My guts and my pro-gamer training helped me out!"
"Guts? That beast nearly spilled yours!"
"Ryu, you're a gamer?!" you asked, half joking.
"Why yes I am! Racing and other simulation games are amongst my favorites!"
"Mmh... that's less hot." you mumbled then snickered.
"I once built a whole racecourse in real life because I wasn't allowed to try this new vr car game."
"Okay that's hot again!" you pointed at him. "When did that happen?"
"I was in elementary school."
"Nevermind!" you laughed loudly and he laughed with you.

"(Y/n), you can't say he's hot!" Chelsea quietly told you, leaning closer. "You have a boyfriend."
"I can say someone is hot without wanting to date them." you furrowed your eyebrows.
"Although!" Ryu snapped his fingers. "My offer for a date is still on the table."
"I know." you sighed, smiling.
"But...Senku, how would he feel about this?" Chelsea glanced at said boy.
"Oh please, Senku doesn't get jeal-" you cut yourself.
'Actually, yes he does. How could I forget?!'
You and her looked at him. At this point he has went on to do his own thing.

"Like, he did that one time." you turned towards her, now speaking more quietly too. "But I think that's because of everything that happened before, when I got kidnapped and whatnot."
"K-kidnapped?!"
"But we resolved that on the way to America."
"Really, how?"
"We...talked. Like adults." you looked away, your face red. "S-so I don't think it'll happen again. But..." you trailed off. "Like, who knows at this point. Even I don't always know what's going on in that head of his."
"I'm sure it would weight on his heart at some point."
'If that's the case, I hope it becomes overbearing for him and we resolve it like last tim-NO! You horny dumbass!' you shook your head. 'He's not even into that stuff! He did it because he knew *I* was!' you covered your face, Chelsea tilted her head in confusion because of that. 'Right now, the most he can do on his own is kissing.' you remembered the kiss he gave you when you reunited. 'Somehow, I like it better.' a soft smile formed itself on your face.

After this, you went to him and kissed him on the top of his head before sitting next to him. When he asked what that was for, you just smiled.
"No reason, I just felt like it."
"Heh. Of course."
He placed a hand on your head and gently pulled it to return the kiss, this time on your forehead. You chuckled wholeheartedly.
'Oh yeah. This is totally better.'
You then noticed some people staring at the two of you and speaking to each-other in Spanish.
"Ellos son tan lindos." one of them said at some point.
You had no idea what that meant, but you had an idea, and it made you blush.

.
The next day, François was able to make churros, now that milk was available. Kaseki set up a stand so that people could sell them. And just as you wondered what that meant, Ryu walked over with a little purse and poured its content onto the countertop. It was full of coins.
"Coins?!"
"Yes! Thanks to obtaining superalloys!"
Picked up one of the biggest, it had 10,000 engraved on it, along with Senku's face.
"It has faced on them!" you exclaimed, delighted.
You checked out the other ones. Kaseki was on the 500 dragos coin, Chrome was on the 1,000 dragos coin, and...
"That's me..." you held up the 5,000 coin towards Ryu's face. "That's me!"

"Of course it's you!" he snapped his fingers. "What better way to celebrate the woman who saved us from the stone?!"
"It's the least we could do." Senku shrugged with a smile.
Your face twisted with emotion, you looked like you were about to cry. But you forced yourself not to, you sniffed.
"I'm surprised *you* didn't put your face on coins Ryu." you changed the subject, putting a 10,000 coin in your pocket (he didn't mind it).
And nobody knew about this, but when making the coins, Senku kept a 5,000 drago coin in his pocket as well.
"Haha! That's simply because I am on the bills of course!" he laughed loudly.
"Of course." you smiled, your eyebrows furrowed. "The new currency *is* named after you."

After getting your churros, you and your group noticed a group of locals walking up to you. The oldest one began to speak, with François translating their words.
"You sure are some upstanding youngsters. In this new world, you've used incredible science to get a head start, but you don't presume to rule over us. Instead, you're attempting to bring back our country with earnest."
Then, they bowed down to you guys. You began to panic a little bit.
"O-oh please don't, stand up. We're not royalty or anything."
"Indeed, skip the thank-you's and raise your heads. We're not even doing it for you." Ryu said as he casually ate his churros. "I'm just a greedy guy who desires everything."
"On our conquest to revive the world, we're hopping from one country to the next." Gen said. "So there's hardly time to stick around and rule over the masses."
"Those who work are professionals in my book, and pros deserve fair compensation. That's how Ryusui Corp. goes about business!" he leaned over François with a devious smirk. "And it doesn't hurt that we control the new world's leading currency."

"Fair enough! We're ready to work!" the crowd of Spanish people exclaimed.
"That is music to my ears! Just so happen that we've got ressources that need gathering." his smile grew bigger. "I desire fluorite!!!"
"I knew it!" you pointed at him. "I knew this is where this whole thing was going!"
He just laughed, along with Senku who respected his approach, he would've very probably done the same thing.

.
A mining site was set up and the next couple of weeks were spent mining for fluorite, along with refueling and restocking the ship. Throughout your time here, in your little music corner, you recreated a bunch of instruments, with the idea of leaving them there for the people who knew how to play, or wanted to learn how to. And you learned too from the locals. For example: in a traditional Catalan music ensemble, people who play the flute also play the drum at the same time, one with their left hand, the other with their right. And so, the spanish flute, called a flabiol, can be really tiny. Of course, you've tried that and you killed it.

"Ohohoho~!" you looked at the finished instrument with stars in your eyes and a big smile. "You're coming home with me!"
"Someday, I wish I could see you struggle to play an instrument for the first time." Gen sighed.
"I saw it happen multiple times in the modern world." Senku said. "She goes from newbie to master at god speed. Kukuku, pretty crazy stuff." he smiled at those memories.
"Maybe if I find something I'm completely unfamiliar with, we could see that happen."

With the fluorite gathered, Kaseki was able to build a telescope as efficient as the modern day ones. And after that he made a rocket ship, it was tall, but by rocket ship standards, it was minuscule.
"I'm pretty sure only Suika could fit in there." you said.
"I-I'm going to the Moon?!" she pointed at herself with stars in her eyes.
You chuckled and patted her head.
"No, but I appreciate your enthusiasm."
"It's a miniature rocket to be exact." Senku explained. "We're gonna slap on a prototype of Dr. Xeno's test engine, and pick a spot for a test launcher."
"It's fabulous." Gen said. "Miniature or not, seeing the real thing with our own eyes makes it feel like we're getting closer to the Moon everyday. Even down here in this stone world."
"Just goes to show how awesome we are." you proudly huffed.
Ryu nodded.
"A proper Moon mission means making deadly accurate trajectory calculations." he went up to the globe. "So the next city we're founding is..." he pressed his index on a spot of the world. "Math city! India!"
"Oh~!" you clapped your hands, your mind already racing with what you could do and learn there.

"Huh, right now we're in Spain." Chrome successfully spotted the location on the globe. "How are we gonna reach India by boat?"
"We must take the long route around the cape of good hope." François answered as they traced a finger around the whole continent of Africa.
"So far!" Gen exclaimed as Chrome's shoulders dropped.
"Really? That'll take us like a whole year." you frowned slightly. "Can't we just pass by the Suez canal?" you asked as you traced the route on the globe.
"Oh! You're right!" Chrome's face lit up. "We could slide through this skinny space, and we got ourselves one baaaad shortcut!"
"You know about the Suez canal (Y/n)?" Ryu asked.
"Of course I do. It's the canal that was blocked by that one ship that one time and it became a meme!" you smiled.

He smiled back, but it soon faded.
"I'd love to give this plan my blessings, but as the captain here, I'm putting my foot down."
"Why?"
"The route could be blocked off, and we'd be blindfolded sailing without a proper sea chart. If we do indeed hit a dead end, trying to turn back would be risky, am I wrong?"
You sighed, understanding.

"If only we could scout it in advance." Chelsea whined.
"You're right." you said. "If only we had something that could help us see things that are far away- Oh wait!" you suddenly grabbed the new telescope and showed it to everybody.
"(Y/n)-chan, I don't think this telescope will help us." Gen gestured towards the globe. "The canal is beyond the horizon for us, it's literally impossible."
"You're right mentalist." Senku said. "If only we had something that could help us see things that are beyond the horizon- Oh wait!" he suddenly pointed at Chelsea.
The fact that he mimicked you, even just for the joke, made your heart squeeze.

As it turned out, when Chelsea came out of the stone, she was by herself and so she crafted giant pieces of clothes to use like kits. She tried to write 'HELLO' on it with home made fluorescent paint so that people could find her, but she ran out of paint before she could write the O. Led to some heart attacks when the team saw 'HELL' floating in the nightsky. You laughed when you heard about this. And now, the crafting team reused those kits to make another hot air balloon. Chelsea, Senku and Ryusui went above the clouds with the telescope. She said that with this, she could scout the Suez canal, and make an accurate sea chart.
"How's it looking from up there?" Chrome asked through the radio.
"Do you think we can slip through that soo-ez sea route thing?" Kohaku added.
"Nope, it's blocked!"
"God dammit!" you kicked the ground as the others lamented too.
"As always, we have the worst of luck." Gen hung his head down.

"Ah, hang on." Chelsea's voice made you lean closer. "The sea route's still actually there, there's just some kinda dam made up of dead trees and junk."
"Oh, so it's fine right?" you asked. "We just have to move it."
"Did someone call for destruction?!" Kohaku grabbed an axe.
"It's still twenty kilometers away!" the young geographer said. "Sailing over to break it down could be risky."
"We have no choice but to blow up the dam." Ryu said. "We should secure the whole route before making our way to the canal since there may be no turning back."
"Kukuku~!" Senku smirked. "So you're telling me, we're outside the canal but 20 kilometers inside is a wall that needs blowing up?!"
A few second of confused silence passed, and then you gasped and leaned closer.
"W-wait! Can we really do this?!" you asked. "Aren't there like, animals living in there?"
"Like our geography expert said," he shrugged. "it's just dead trees and junk. It's practically uninhabitable."
"(Y/n)-chan, I know that you understand Senku better than anyone." Gen said, getting your attention. "So please be a kind soul and be our interpreter~, tell us what he's talking about."
You gulped.

So you guys used the rocket ship prototype to blow up the dam, which also served as the test launch. Two birds one stone, classic Senku. And off you went to India, a journey that could've taken a year, now took only a week!
"What exactly are we after in this India place?" Kohaku asked on the way there.
"Well," you taped your cheek with your index. "isn't India known for its robotics or something?"
"India did have some of the coolest robots and AI's." Senku nodded. "But it's only ranked third on a global level."
"Only?! But I get it, we gotta have the best of the best."
"If it isn't the best, then why are we here?" she asked again.
"Because it is also known for its mathematical prowess!" Ryu exclaimed. "Back in the day, math education in India couldn't be beat! They would memorize the times table up to the double digits! I desire that math power!" he snapped his fingers.
"Desire is noble." François smiled. "As it happens, Nanami Corp. founded a university to cultivate human recourses in India."
"Not a fan of your choice of word there..." you mumbled.

"Loads of students and professors await us," Ryu continued with a big smile. "and we'll revive hundreds of those master calculators!"
"Kukuku~!" Senku shared his enthusiasm. "Even some of the Apollo mission involved handwritten calculations!"
"If luck is on our side, we may find Sai."
"Say?" he frowned.
"It's a commun name in India." Chelsea pointed out.
"He's a genius mathematician, whose brain power is a million times the average person."
"...Unfortunately, we're known for our bad luck." you furrowed your eyebrows.
"Not when it comes to find the best of the best!" Senku smirked.

.
The first thing you guys did when your stepped on land was to gather spices to make curry. Once again, food gave you flashback to the modern world.
"That's... that's good shit." you nodded, tears in the corner of your eyes.
"Aww~ (Y/n)-chan! Don't cry~!" Gen patted your shoulder.
"This stone world made you become so emotional just by eating." Senku said.
"Nah," you wiped your eyes. "that's the spices' doing."
"Oh yeah, it is spicier since it come straight from the source."
"You don't say!" Chrome shouted, his face as red as a tomato after just one bite.
You laughed while pointing at him.

The next day, you all set out to find this Sai guy. According to Ryu, he was attending the Nanami university.
"Thousands of years back, when the petri-beam first hit," he said. "it would've reached this part of India around 9:30 in the morning. Just when classes were about to begin. During his free time, Sai was always glued to his laptop! So where'a a place that he could be alone and with a decent signal? I bet..." he snapped his fingers. "When Sai got petrified, he was on the school's roof!"
"He sure is familiar with this Sai guy." Kohaku whispered to you.
"Not only that," you whispered back. "this whole time, he's been guiding us like he has a Sai radar or something."
'Just who is this guy to you...?' you tilted your head, fixing Ryu.

With the information given to them, Senku and Chelsea teamed up to figure out the location of the Kingdom of Science's future mathematician. They were both very excited about this, like two jovial kids on a school trip. Eventually, you found his statue and dug it out of the ground.
"He looks..." Gen looked closer. "half-Indian, half-Japanese."
"Great, another baaaad pretty boy." Chrome rolled his eyes. "Gotta say, I'm not a fan."
"I am!" you said with a happy smile, trying your best to focus of the statue's face.
Senku noticed that, and he gave you a side eye, an eyebrow twitching. Before your gaze could go down, he covered your eyes with one hand and pulled you closer.
"Hey! What gives?" you took his hand and looked at him.
It was then that you noticed his glare. You gasped.
"Do you-?!"
You were cut off by the sound of of stone shattering. You both looked over to see a now fully clothes young man. His hands and forearms were completely black.
'That's so cool!' your eyes widen. 'He's hot!"

Understandably, he was very much confused.
"Wh-what's going on?!" he asked, in Japanese surprisingly. "Could it be?! Did you people save me?! I can't thank you enough!"
You were about to walk up to him and introduce yourself, but just then he noticed Ryusui, and his face twisted in pure horror.
"Peegyaaaah!!!" he shouted before running away.
"Hahaha! Running at the sight of me?! Show some tact!" Ryu pointed at him with a big smile. "Get him!!!"
Kohaku effortlessly caught him in a chokehold, preventing him from moving. The poor guy struggled like his life depended on it.
"No no no!" he shouted. "I fled all the way to India and it wasn't far enough! I refuse to return to Nanami Corp.! Well, that is as long as you're involved!"
"Return?" you looked at Ryu for an answer.
"His full name is...Sai Nanami!"
"What?!?!?!" everyone exclaimed.
"But then...!" you looked back at Sai.
He pointed at Ryu.
"Ryusui is...my little brother!"

"Oh~!" you hit the palm of your hand with your fist. "That's why he's hot, it runs in the family!"
You and Ryu laughed. Senku frowned and grabbed your hand, pulling you away from the group.
"What?" you frowned, confused.
Senku just folded his arms and hung his head down with his eyes closed and a frowned. As if he himself was trying to figure out what was going on with him.
"Ah. Right! Back to that!" you leaned closer and spoke more quietly. "So you do get jealous!"
"I'm not jealous!" he hissed, looking at you.
"You don't have to be jealous, you know that's just how I am." you scratched the back of your head. "But if you're uncomfortable with it, I can try and tone it down."
"It's not jealousy!"
"The fact that you're being categorical about it just makes me think more that that's it."

"No it's not." he rolled his eyes. "I just don't find it fair that you're calling everybody hot to their faces so casually and not..." he trailed off, avoiding eye contact.
You let out a little 'oh~'.
'It's not jealously, it's envy!'
Gotta say, when thinking about how he was back in the modern world, the way Senku developed emotionally was crazy to you. But right now, you mostly focused on how cute he was being.

"Awww~!" you put your arms on his shoulders, forcing him to look at you. "You are hot!" you gave him a peck on the mouth. "You're so hot! When you launched that rocket, you were so happy it warmed my heart! And when you-"
"Okay okay." he gently pushed your face away. "I didn't ask for a list either, I know it'd be endless."
He sounded annoyed, but he was smiling. You chuckled.
"And I love when you're being a tsundere. You look so cute."
"I definitely did not ask for that." he frowned, glaring at you, with cheek dusted with pink.
You laughed. Just then, you both heard Sai's cries of pain.
"Ah! Right! Back to this!"
"Oi! Lioness! Let him go before you break him!"
