Miracles
Aoi's POV
My eyes slid open and I sat up.
"Oh, good. You're awake. That's good. We'll be arriving on the island where we intend to bury Whitebeard and Ace. I figured you wouldn't want to miss that." A voice said. I looked over and stared at the man who spoke.
"You're... You're Yasopp." I said. The man grinned at me.
"Oh? You've heard of me?" He asked.
"I've actually me your son." I said Yasopp grinned at me and leaned towards me.
"Yeah? How's he doing?" Yasopp asked.
"He's a compulsive liar that's never missed a shot. He's the only pirate sniper in the seas that uses a sling shot." I said. Yasopp stared at me.
"Really? A sling shot? And he's never missed?" He asked, a wide grin spreading across his lips.
"Yup. He's even faced off against Daddy the Father." I said. Yasopp's grin grew.
"You don't say! Daddy the Father!" Yasopp laughed.
"Tell me what else-"
"Yasopp, that's enough. She's still weak from the war. Not to mention she's probably still grieving for the loss of her father and husband. Don't be bothering her with stories about your son." A voice came. Shanks and Marco entered the room.
"Yes, boss." Yasopp stood up and sent me an apologetic smile.
"We can talk more when you're feeling better." He said and left the room, leaving me with Shanks and Marco.
"How are you feeling, young lady?" Shanks asked me. I swung my legs off the side of the bed.
"I'm... Not so tired. And I'm a little sore." I said.
"Not surprising. You went up against Blackbeard." Shanks said. Memories came flooding back to me. My hand flew to my stomach.
"No worries. The baby is alive and healthy." Shanks told me. I sighed in relief.
"Aoi... Are you alright?" Marco asked.
"I want to see him." I said.
"Aoi-" Marco said.
"Let me see him, Marco! Let me see my husband! Let me see him one last time before I lose him forever!" I cried. I knew Marco was going to refuse.
I felt a rough, yet gentle hand take mine. I looked up and was met with the kind face and eyes of Shanks LeRoux.
"Follow me." He said. I let him lead me to where Ace and Whitebeard's bodies lied.
"We'll wait out here for you until you're ready." Shanks said.
"Thank you." I said softly. I entered the room where my father and my husband lie. I choked back a sob when I saw them. They both looked so peaceful. Almost as if they were sleeping.
Yeah right. Sleeping.
One was sleeping with various wounds from where his devil fruit was ripped from his body. The other was sleeping with a quarter sized hole in his head.
I fell to my knees by Ace. I stared at his beautiful face.
"Oh, God.. Ace... I'm so sorry!" I sobbed. I rested my head on his chest and let myself cry.
Then...
My head shot up in suprise. My heart beat loudly and my hands began to shake. I placed my ear by his mouth and waited.
There! There it was!
I slammed my head on his chest, but my own heart was beating too loudly in my ears for me to hear. I pressed two fingers to Ace's throat and felt more tears fly down my face as I checked his forehead.
"MARCO!" I screamed. My hand covered my mouth to stop my sob. Marco and Shanks burst in to the room.
"Aoi?! What is it?" Marco asked. I turned to look at Marco, my hand not leaving Ace's throat.
"Marco..." I choked out.
"He's alive!"
Marco stared at me.
"But he can't be..." He said.
"He is! Marco, I can feel his pulse! I felt him breathing! And look! There should be a hole right here!" I touched his forehead, feeling only smooth skin and solid skull beneath. Marco came to my side and felt for Ace's pulse. He listened to Ace's breathing.
"DOCTOR!" Marco called.
Timeskip
It was confirmed. Ace was alive. He was moved from the table to a comfy bed where he peacefully slept.
"How is he alive? I mean, I'm so relieved he's alive, but how? I saw the Magma Bullet pass through his head. I saw... No... I felt him die." I said.
"I think you did this." Shanks said.
"Me?" I asked. Shanks nodded.
"Just before you killed Akainu, you wrapped Ace's body in water and said "Ten no Mizu." Whatever that was, it must have revived Ace." Shanks said.
"Ten no Mizu? Wait, kill Akainu?" I asked. What the hell were they talking about?
"Yeah, come to think about it, it looked like a healing technique." Marco said.
"Guys." I said.
"And plus, the way she fought Akainu was almost like a holy judgment." Shanks said.
"Guys." I repeated.
"It did seem like a kind of Devine Power. But, water is symbolizing for healing. Maybe Aoi's always had that power?" Marco said.
"GUYS!" I shouted. The two men looked back over at me. I looked between them.
"I have no idea what you're talking about."
They stared at me.
"You're fight with Akainu? Aoi, you killed him! You used some sort of death rain technique to imbed sea water in him and then crush his heart." Marco said. I scowled at him.
"Marco, I think I would remember fighting and killing the man that killed my husband." I said.
"What about the Ten no Mizu thing?" Shanks asked.
"Ten no Mizu?... Ten no Mi- why was I saying "Heaven's Water" in Japanese?" I asked softly.
"Heaven's Water? Isn't that a technique that can only be used by the gods?" Shanks asked.
That's when it clicked.
My head snapped up to Shanks.
"Is there possibly a color picture of me when I was fighting Akainu?" I asked. Shanks produced a wanted poster. Specifically, my wanted poster. It was new.
WANTED
DEAD OR ALIVE
Ocean D "Water Knight" Aoi
800,000,000 beri
"Damn, 800 million." I said.
"You did kinda kill the Marine's hero." Marco said.
"Seems fair." I said. I looked at the picture of me.
"Aha! Here we go! Take a look. In the picture, my hair is darker than what it is now. And my eyes are blue in the picture. My eyes are green." I pointed to the differences.
"Also, take a look at this necklace. It's the other half to the one I wear. This necklace that I wear was given to me by the Sea Goddess, Kaiyo. If I ever desperately needed help, then this necklace is what I would use to summon her." I said, pointing to the necklace I wore and the one in the picture.
"So what happened?" Shanks asked.
"After Akainu shot Ace through the head, I collapsed. I must have cried out for help before I lost conciousness. So, as I was unconcious, Kaiyo answered my call for help and possessed my body to revive Ace and kill Akainu." I said. Marco's eyes widened. Shanks nodded.
"That seems to make sense. But why necessary to kill Akainu?" Shanks asked.
"The law of equivalent exchange." I said. The two men blinked at me.
"In order to gain something, something of equal or greater value must be given in return. Akainu's life for Ace's." I said.
"Aoi... Do you think you might be able to-" Marco started.
"Marco, I'm going to stop you there. First off, I can't use the Heaven's Water. It was Kaiyo that saved Ace. Not me. Second off, it's a trade. One life for another-" I started.
"I'll give my life!" Marco interuppted. I reached over and slapped him.
"Let me finish, damn it!" I said. Marco stared at me.
"And finally, Third. I wouldn't be able to bring back someone who has accepted death." I said. Marco blinked at me.
"What do you mean?" Marco asked.
"It wasn't Teach and his crew that finished Dad off. While they did all fire on him, it wouldn't have mattered if they did or not. Through out the entire battle, Dad's heart was failing. Even if I had ran out in time and put a wall between them, Dad's heart still would have failed." I said.
"How... How are you sure?" Marco asked. I looked down at my lap.
"The last check up I gave him before the war." I said. Marco sighed.
"I'm sorry..." I said as tears fell again. Marco say by me and hugged me.
"It's not your fault. You did all you could. What's important is that you, Ace and the baby are alive." Marco said. I wiped my eyes and nodded.
I stood up.
"Excuse me, gentlemen. But I want to spend some time with my husband." I said and walked to the room where my husband slept peacefully.
