Memory Island Approaching.
Aka's POV
Aoi and I stood side by side. She figured it would be best for us to talk about Marineford after Memory Island. Law talked to us about it. Memory Island would reveal every memory we had, and I don't think Aoi was ready to tell Ace that he was going to die. Plus, it might fuck things up royaly if Ace finds out that Teach kills Thatch.
Plus if that happened, Ace would react and attack Teach and that would not be a good thing for Ace.
"Are you ready to face your past?" Aoi asked. Not to me specifically, but to the three of us. Law, Ace and me.
"What do you mean, Aoi-ya?" Law asked.
"Well, from what you told us, everyone that has ever set foot on Memory Island ran away because of their pasts. They weren't ready and were afraid to face their pasts. If you want to bury your past and forget it ever happened, the Memory Island isn't a place you want to go. If you want to survive Memory Island, you have to be willing to face your past and move past it." Aoi said.
Law's eyes moved over to me. I looked down at my feet, not wanting to meet his gaze. I knew that Aoi would notice these actions. Given what I learned of her, she's the observer type. Not much slips past those jade eyes.
"So if there's nothing to fear, there's nothing to lose." Ace said.
"Yeah, basically." Aoi said. I swollowed hard. Was I ready to face my past? Was I ready to sit through my personal hell all over again? And ready or not, would I have the will to do it again? And would I be able to look my captain in the eyes again after it?
I had been so lost in thought, that I didn't notice that Ace and Aoi had left.
"Aka-ya." Law said, bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Huh?" I said, looking up at him. I was suprised at how close he was to me. I felt his hand wrap around mine. Was he showing me affection?
"You don't have to go on the island." He said. I looked him dead in the eyes.
"I'm going on the island, Law. You can't stop me." I said. He sighed.
"I know, and I'm not going to try to stop you. I'm just saying that I won't force you to go on that island if you want to bury your past. I just don't want you to hurt." He said. I was surprised. Law was showing his tender side. He only every showed it to me, and even then it was rare.
Yet... There was something new in his eyes. I couldn't quite put my finger on it.
I felt a hand gently touch my cheek and I shied away from it, even thought I knew it was Law's. Even though I knew Law would never slap me, never hurt me, I always shied away when people touched my cheeks.
"Are you sure? If you do, then Aoi-ya and Ace-ya will find out you are from another dimension." Law whispered lowly to me. I sighed.
"I think they already know." I said. Law made me look at him.
"How?" He asked.
"Aoi is exteremly observant and no doubt she tells Ace everything. And I can't quite shake the feeling that I- oh fuck it." I growled.
"Aka-ya?" Law asked me.
"I don't know why I'm trying to cover for her when she made it clear that she doesn't mind." I said. Law forced me to look at him.
"What is it, Aka-ya?" Law asked. I sighed.
"Aoi and I are both from Reality." I said.
"And Ace-ya knows?" Law asked. I nodded.
"Is Aoi-ya a possible threat?" He asked. I shook my head.
"She doesn't want to go back either. From what she told me, she was worse off than I was. We agreed that we are meant to be where we are. Though, Aoi seemed to gain something else with her devil fruit power after she crossed over here." I said.
"And what would that be?" He asked.
"She can see both past and future of those she is to become close with." I said.
"Should we be worried?" He asked. I shook my head.
"I don't think Aoi would be a threat to us unless she sees us becoming a threat to her. Aoi and I are two sides of the same coin. After she's been though hell her whole life, all she really wants is to just be near someone that truely loves her. Basically, as long as we don't pose a threat to Ace's life, she won't pose a threat to ours." I said. Law squeezed my hand.
"Aka-ya, should we trust them?" Law asked me, trusting my judgement better than his own.
"Yes. Ace is too kind to betray us, and Aoi's only concern is Ace's safety. Otherwise Aoi wouldn't have let Ace come with us and wouldn't even have come with us at all." I said. I heard Law take a breath of relief.
"If you trust them, then I do." He said. I felt his arm slip away from my hand and around my waist, pulling me closer to him. I looked up in to his eyes again.
Next thing I knew, his lips were on mine.
Aoi's POV
I listened to Law and Aka talk. I knew Law wouldn't trust us right off the bat, but it seems that my heart to heart with Aka the other night won her over and Law trusted Aka.
I peaked around the corner and saw him wrap his arm around her waist. I smirked. The oppritunity was practically begging me to take it.
"Water commandment: push." I whispered. Two small streams of water rose up and shoved their heads towards each other. I smirked happily when their lips met. I had been able to pick up on the fact that Aka had feelings for Law. And I really think that under that cold exterior, Law had feeling for her, too. Maybe this was the push they needed. Now if they would just relax.
I heard them pull away from each other.
"I-I-" I heard Aka stutter, then she ran past me. I couldn't help but noticed tears running down her cheeks.
"Huh? Aka?" I asked. She ran on, not even hearing me. I looked back over at Law. His arms were still out in the position he had been holding her in. I saw him raise one hand to his lips.
"I fucked up." I thought. I sighed and walked towards the room I knew Aka was in. She needed a friendly ear right now.
