"Lyla!" Lucas cheered as he ran into my room.

I groaned groggily and opened one of my eyes to look up at him. "What?"

"Someone got a little letter from, hmm, maybe Roma?" Dylan smiled from behind Lucas in the doorway.

My eyes went wide as I quickly jumped 5 feet off my bed and ran over to my brothers, quickly snatching it from Lucas' hand.

I smiled at them as Aaron came up beside Dylan and smiled at me. "Go on" He gestured to open the letter.

I took in a deep breath before ripping apart the envelope and opening the letter. My eyes scanned over the text as my face lit up.

Looking up at my brothers, I sighed, "I made it" I exclaimed trying to contain my excitement.

"Ly' that's amazing!" Dylan encouraged, smiling widely.

"Congratulations Ly'!" Aaron and Dylan exclaimed.

My dad walked up from behind my brothers and he could sense the happiness from the letter, "Congrats sweetheart" My dad smiled and he hugged me.

"Thanks dad!" I smiled widely as we all jumped up and down in excitement- even my dad did, and he wasn't usually this enthusiastic.

"Woah, what's going on here?" Calvin smiled from behind my dad.

My smile instantly turned into a frown, "Lyla got accepted into Roma, a traveling soccer team!" Dylan answered.

Calvin turned to look at me and his face fell slightly when he saw the look I was giving him, "Well good for you" He said.

"Thanks" I smiled lightly, trying to be nice but it wasn't working. I kind of felt bad for being so mean to him but he was the one who started it!

"Celebratory breakfast?" My dad suggested as we all nodded happily. "Get dressed then. We're going to 'Martha's Diner'" My dad said and we all went to get ready.

"Calvin you're welcome to join too" I heard my dad say when I closed my door.

I waited to hear Calvin's answer anxiously. I don't want him to come, especially if it's for a good occasion. A family occasion.

Say no. Say no. Say no. Say no. Say n- my thoughts were interrupted when Calvin answered.

"I'd love to, thank you Mr. Reynolds"

Shoot! I rolled my eyes in frustration as I got ready.

//

The car ride was short and calming. Mostly because Calvin barely even spoke a word.

But I did notice him glancing over at me every now and then. It was weird.

We walked into the diner as my brothers ran to our usual booth and slid into it as we were greeted by our friend, Martha.

"Hey you guys!" Martha exclaimed as we all took a seat.

"Hey Martha" My brothers and I greeted in unison and she smiled.

"How's school Lucas? Still captain of the football team?" She asked Lucas cheerfully.

He smiled and nodded, "The one and only"

She laughed, "And how about you Dylan? How's soccer going?"

"It's good thanks" He smiled and she nodded.

"I see you're back from college, Aaron" She smiled.

He nodded, "For 2 weeks" He added.

"Awesome. And Lyla, you never told me you had a boyfriend" She wiggled her eyebrows gesturing to Calvin and I.

My brothers tensed as I shook my head, "Oh no! We're not dating!" I reassured.

She giggled, "Well okay. Don't act too defensive."

My eyes widened and I looked across me to see Calvin. He just smiled at me, clearly amused by the situation.

I rolled my eyes before Martha began taking our orders.

//

"I'm stuffed" I sighed as we drove back home.

"Me too" Dylan groaned.

"Well that's what happens when you orders two plates of toast" My dad laughed.

"But it was so good!" I argued earning a nod from Dylan.

"So tell me about yourself Calvin. You've been coming over every day for the past two weeks and all I know is your name!" My dad spoke up, changing the subject.

"Well I play football, soccer and baseball. I've never really had a girlfriend to be honest and-" He started.

"Dude, you've never had a girlfriend?" Lucas asked in disbelief as my dad parked in our driveway and everyone began filing out of the car.

He shrugged, "I find it hard to believe that" I spoke up. "You've seriously never had a girlfriend?"

He nodded, "I guess I've never felt really committed to anybody" He shrugged and then whispered into my ear, "Why? You want to fill the empty spot Reynolds?" He smirked at me.

I rolled my eyes and scoffed, "In your dreams Porter"

He chuckled, "More like yours"

"As if!" I groaned and began to walk up the stairs. My brothers weren't in the house yet.

"You want me" He smirked before my brothers came in.

I turned around and mimicked him before Dylan saw him staring after me.

"Look somewhere else man" He said, confusion in his voice as he slapped him on the back of the head.

Calvin quickly looked away and walked into the living room with my brothers. I smiled after Dylan scolded him and I walked up to my room.

//

"Today's been boring huh?" My best friend, Meredith, asked me as I briefly glanced through the window of the diner before looking back at her.

"Well... Not completely" I smirked and she raised her eyebrow.

"Lyla Reynolds, do tell" She smiled, leaning closer.

I chuckled, "Well, I got a letter from Roma this morning and I, made it!" I exclaimed the last part and she shrieked in excitement, making the everyone in the whole diner look at us.

"You got accepted?" Meredith exclaimed, not paying any of her attention to the people staring at us.

I nodded my head, "I know I was so happy too!"

"That's amazing Ly', congrats!" She smiled widely. "Want an ice cream? On me"

"I could go for some ice cream" I smiled and laughed.

Mere called the waitress over and asked for two vanilla cones. As the waitress left, she spoke up. "So I heard your brothers have a new friend"

I rolled my eyes dramatically, "Ugh, please don't remind me" I chuckled taking a sip of my soda.

"You don't like him?" She questioned.

I shook my head, "Not in the least bit. He's a jerk"

"But he's hot" She added.

"He's cute but he's a jerk and annoying and conceited and- the list shall go on and on" I stared blankly.

"Wow you really don't like him. What'd he do to you?" She asked as the waitress came back with our ice cream and we thanked her.

"He got me detention and I'm sure there's worse coming" I sighed, and licked my ice cream.

"Well, do you even know the guy? Like really know him?" She asked, curiously.

I shrugged, "I guess not"

"Well then. Give him a chance. He might come around"

"But I don't want to give him a chance. Jerks don't deserve chances Mere" I sighed.

She took a sip of her soda, "If you won't, I will" She smirked.

I rolled my eyes at her when she started laughing but and I couldn't help but laugh too. Her laughter was contagious.

"What's got you two on the floor?" Amanda, my other best friend, asked as she scooted beside me into the booth.

"I-I don't know" I cried.

She looked at us like we had just walked into Walmart with big 'kick me' signs on our backs.

"So when are we gonna go to the movies?" Amanda asked us, as our laughter died down.

Mere pulled her sleeve up and looked at her watch, "Wanna get going now?"

I nodded, sipping the last bit of my soda and swallowing the last bit of my ice cream before Mere put down a ten dollar bill on the table. "Let's go" I said as we all scooted out of the booth and headed to my car.

//

The car ride was pretty short seeing as I lived pretty close to the cinema. We all filed out of the car and made our way inside the theatre.

We all grabbed our tickets and popcorn as we made our way inside a room that had one of the screens.

"Chris Hemsworth is so hot in this movie" Mere gushed as we sat down and she began to munch on her popcorn.

I nodded in agreement, "Mhm" I agreed and we all smiled.

"How long until the movie starts Ly?" Amanda asked, looking over at me.

"Uhm, fifteen minutes" I smiled.

"Did you guys see the first mo-" I started but was cut off when I saw the next couple of people walk into the theatre.

I narrowed my eyes at none other than Calvin and my brothers. "What are they doing here?" I groaned as they walked up to where we were sitting.

"Oh hey Ly, didn't know you and your friends would be here" Calvin chimed and winked at my friends, making them blush and giggle.

I rolled my eyes, "First off- don't call me that, only my friends call me that. Second- don't look at my friends. Third- why are you here?" I stood up from my seat with my hand on my hip, glaring at him.

"Ooh, don't need to get all feisty on me there Ly" He smirked, clearly not taken back by my seriousness.

"I said don't call me that" I clarified.

"Well I don't listen to anyone" He crossed his arms across his chest.

"Clearly" I muttered under my breath. "Besides what are you four doing at a movie like 'The Huntsman?'"

They shrugged, "We thought it kinda looked okay" Dylan shrugged and I laughed.

"You guys came to see a girly movie" I teased, holding my stomach in laughter.

My friends started to laugh, "It's not a girly movie!" Lucas fought back and then turned to Aaron. "It's not, right?" He clarified quietly into Aaron's ear, which everyone could hear.

Aaron shook his head, standing tall with his muscular chest out, in a more manly way.

"Yeah, okay" I raised my eyebrows in a fast motion before sitting back down.

Calvin took the seat beside me and I turned to him, "What are you doing?"

"I'm sitting down so I can watch a movie" He looked at me as he popped a piece of popcorn into his mouth and he winked.

I rolled my eyes, "Well sit somewhere else."

He frowned, "well than I can't annoy you"

"Fine with me" I shot.

He mimicked my voice and I glared at him. "Uhm, guys, if you could fight like children somewhere else other than here, that would be great" Lucas smiled lightly before turning his attention to the big screen.

Giving Calvin one last glare, I turned my attention to the screen just in time for the movie to start.
