Kaneki's P.O.V.

I woke up in the middle of the night with a craving for carrots. The baby really loves those things. I slowly sat up and walked down stairs to the kitchen. Since I'm pregnant I can't sit up so fast, but I can do it on my own. I opened the fridge and there wasn't any carrots that were already cut up. So I took one out of the fridge and got a butter knife and a cutting board.

I was almost done cutting the carrot when I heard foot steps from behind me. Then I felt arms wrap around me, Hide most have woken up. Then he took the butter knife out of my hand sort of fast. I turned around and tried to reach for it. But Hide is taller then me, so I couldn't get it.

"Hide, give it back." I said as I was on my toes and my arms starched out, in order to try and get the knife. Hide had his arm held up, keeping it out of my reach.

"No, you shouldn't be using a knife." Then I realized he's half awake and thinks I'm using a sharp knife.

I pinched the bridge of my nose before saying,"Hide, first of all I'm a ghoul I can't get hurt by knives. Secondly how can anyone get hurt by a butter knife?" He stopped for a few moments before looking at the knife he was holding. And the handed it back to me.

"I'm sorry." I chuckled at him.

"It's okay, you're just caring about me." I said before I kissed him on the cheek.
