2 days later...

Kaneki's P.O.V

I slowly woke up. I was wide awake last night, but I didn't wake Hide up. I was able to fall asleep somewhere after midnight. A few minutes pasted before I realized Hide wasn't in bed with me. I knew Hide was only able to stay home for 3 days. Did he already have to go back to work? I'm already losing track of what day it is with how much I lay in bed. I never feel like getting up. It feels like something or someone is holding me down all the time. I tired to motivate myself to get up. I ever so slowly sat up and it took me a few minutes before I could stand.

I stumbled towards the bedroom door and opened it. And I stumbled down stairs. I found Hide on the couch reading some sort of book. Maybe it's one of those books about ghouls he likes to read. He's really into them and would explain why he didn't hear me come down. I was leaning against the edge of the wall, trying to support myself.

"H-Hide?" I called him. He snapped up and looked in my deracination. He saw that was trying to keep myself up. He put his book down on the coffee table and walked towards me. He held my upper arms, helping me stand. And I leaned my head against his shoulder.

"Kaneki, are you okay?" He asked with concern.

"Yes, I just didn't know where you were."

"You could've called me upstairs."

"I thought you were at work."

"I have to go back to work tomorrow. Here let me help you." He said before leading me to the couch and set me down. He sat next to me and put arms around me. I laid my head on his shoulder and put a hand on his chest.

"Do you want me to turn on the TV?" He asked.

"I don't care as long as you're with me."

"Okay." He said before turning on the television. After awhile I started shivering because of how cold the room was compared to the bed. And I was only wearing a t-shirt and light pajama pants.

"Honey, here I'll go get your hoodie." He said before he walked away and came back with my hoodie. I took it and put it on. But I still wasn't warm. He left again and came back with a blanket. It took about 3 blankets to keep me warm. Hide also turned up the air conditioning and had me sit on his lap and his arms were around me.

"If you're going to be like this tomorrow, I want someone to check on you. Because my work is to far away from the house for me to come check on you during my break." Here he goes worrying again. Even though I don't like him worrying about me so much, I do see why he would be. It was a struggle for me to get out of bed and come down stairs. It was also hard to keep myself up without support. And I got so cold that I started shivering.

"Okay. Who do you think should come check on me?"

"Probably Nishiki or Touka. If they're willing too."

"Knowing Touka, she would see it was a pain in her ass and think I'm faking."

"So, Nishiki then?"

"Yeah."

"Alright, I'll work that out with him." I hummed in agreement and rested my head of his shoulder. He held me closer and gave a few kisses on the forehead. We stayed close together the rest of the day.
