Kaneki's P.O.V.

I woke up in the middle of the night to cramps coming from my hips. I knew what was happening. I slowly got up because I didn't want to wake Hide up and the cramps hurt. I walked to the bathroom and opened the door and turned on the light. Then I closed the door behind me. I took my shorts and boxers off. There was blood already seeping through my boxers. I sat on the toilet and felt something warm run down, there was blood already dripping down. The baby is dead. I put my face in my hands and started to cry. What have I done?

I cried until I heard a knock at the door.

"Kaneki?"

Hide's P.O.V.

I woke up with Kaneki out of bed. I usually wake up when something isn't right. I saw that the bathroom light was on. I got up and walked to the bathroom. I put my ear against the door. And I heard muffled crying. Then I knocked on the door.

"Kaneki?"

"Y-yeah?"

"What's wrong?"

"N-nothing."

"No, there's something wrong. I'm coming in."

"Wait, Hide. Don't com-" To late. I had already opened the door and walked in. His shorts and boxers were on the floor across from him. I kneeled beside him.

"What's wrong?" I asked again. Hoping to get an answer out of him. He didn't say anything. He just glanced at his boxers. I picked them up and looked inside them.

Blood.

I looked back at him. He looked away. He bit his lip and let some tears run down his face. I couldn't do anything. All I could do was stay there with him.

After a what felt like forever, Kaneki said something.

"H-Hide I-I think it stopped. Could you step out so I can get my clothes back on?"

"Sure. Do you need me to help you with anything?"

"N-no." I nodded and walked out of the bathroom and the closed the door behind me. I waited a few minutes before Kaneki walked out. He gave me look of sadness, his bangs covered his right eye. And then hugged me. I hugged him back. He cried against my shoulder. I let him cry for a little bit before picking him up and set him on our bed. He probably didn't need to be on his feet right now. He still held onto me. I did manage to get a look at the clock on the bedside table. It was 1:24 am.

"I-it's all m-my fault." He said.

"No it's not." I said trying to get him to calm down.

"Y-yes it is. I made a mistake."

"No one could have known this would happen." He didn't have anything else to say after I said that. He kept crying in my chest. After a little bit he stopped crying. But he couldn't fall asleep. So, I stayed awake with him until the sun came up. He was able to fall back asleep at like 7:23 in the morning. I removed my arms from him and put the covers over him. Luckily I didn't wake him up. I should call to let him stay home from work. We can make up our missed classes tomorrow. I walked out of the bedroom and closed the door behind me.

I called Touka, since her phone number is the only one I have from Anteiku. I should get Nishiki's number, so I don't have to keep calling Touka. It rang a few times before she picked up.

"What the hell do you want at 7 in fucking morning?!" She said very angry. I probably did wake her up. And me being only half awake couldn't be mad at her for yelling at me.

"Kaneki needs today off." I said tiredly.

"Again?"

"Yes, he couldn't fall asleep last night because he felt sick. And I'm pretty sure you don't want him to fall asleep on the job. He could miss up an order or brake something."

"Ugh, fine. But he is going to take one of my shifts next week."

"Alright. Thank you."

"Yeah, welcome." Then she hanged up. I went back into our bedroom and laid down next to Kaneki and got under the covers. He had rolled over, so his back was facing me. I wrapped my arms around his waist and put my head in his hair. It only took a couple of seconds for me to fall asleep.
