Chapter Two
Barry Allen
The next day, everything was seemingly normal at the CCPD. There was nothing out of the ordinary or anything crazy that happened. There weren't many metahuman attacks but other than that everything was normal.
At first.
Everything was normal until a couple of desk cops brought a thirteen year old girl into the station. Her hair was purple dark pinkish, green eyes and her clothes suggested that maybe she was sort of gothic.
And her name was Frankie.
The reason the girl was brought in was because of the suspicious out of the ordinary death of her father, who died from blunt force trauma to the head....by lamppost. A lamppost that seemingly looked like it had been bent beyond repair by hands and forced through the window.
It was a weird death indeed. And Barry and Julian were working the case together without any arguing for once.
Barry happened to be upstairs in his lab when he heard yelling from downstairs in the common area. Barry crept down the stairs and was shocked to see Frankie facing multiple armed police officers who were in fact aiming loaded guns at her. Knowing they wouldn't hesitate to shoot he slowly took a step closer to her.
"Frankie?" Barry said cautiously.
Frankie spun around, glaring at him. "What do you want?! Just let me go!"
Barry held his hand out towards her in a peace offering. "What's the problem? Why are you...attacking people?" Barry asked after glancing around the common area and noticing that a few officers were groaning in pain.
"Because I don't want to be here!" She growled.
"Hey I'm not gonna hurt you." Barry told her. "I'm trying to help you."
Julian then decided to choose that moment to say, "She's a killer, she is! She killed her father."
Barry shot Julian a look that said 'Shut up' and turned back to Frankie who was glaring daggers at Julian and at the moment he couldn't blame her.
"What happened the night your dad died?" Barry questioned her.
Frankie didn't say anything for a couple minutes before she said, "He was abusive."
Barry took another step and Frankie sent a piece of metal at him. He stopped and said, "I'm not gonna hurt you, Frankie."
The girl smirked. "I'm not Frankie!" Her voice became really deep and Barry was startled. "Now leave me alone!"
A metal table was sent flying at Barry and before he could duck for cover it hit him in the side of the head and he stumbled back against the wall, feeling dizzy. His mind went foggy and the room started spinning and through the haze that was now his brain, he saw Magenta sprint out of the front doors of the CCPD.
Barry's eyes drifted shut and he collapsed to the ground, unconscious before he hit the floor.
Julian Albert
Julian watched horrified as the table was picked up by an invisible force and flung at Barry and hit him in the head. By the time Barry was falling to the ground Julian was already by his side.
He caught him a couple feet off the floor and Joe helped Julian get Barry upstairs to the lab. They laid him on the table and Captain Singhe strolled in.
"Is he okay?"
"Other than a possible concussion then yes." Julian said.
"Good." Singhe breathed.
"So Magenta is a meta who can control metal. That's what we're dealing with." Julian says.
Julian looks down at Barry, shaking his head. Stupid idiot hero. Always putting his life on the line. He could have gotten himself killed! Julian found himself getting angry at Barry's rash action to approach the girl. Even though she was thirteen, she was a meta was still a danger to everyone around her. Including Barry.
Julian scoffed and shook his head again. It's just dumb luck the girl didn't try to skewer him. Hell it was dumb luck she didn't kill everyone in this precinct.
Or that's what he thought.
It was about an hour later when Barry started to come around and wake up. Julian watched him with narrowed eyes and told himself that he would stay angry at Barry and wouldn't get lost in those wide blue/green/hazel looking eyes of his.
Barry's beautiful eyes fluttered open and Julian found himself lost in them. Those eyes contained pain, love, anger and passion. Any emotion you can think of Julian was sure they were visible in his eyes at one point or another. Those eyes held the agony of losing two parents-watching both of them murdered in front of him and helpless to do anything to stop it, they held all of the heart breaks Barry has felt, they held the betrayal and anger of those he trusted...Barry always wore his heart on his sleeve.
Julian stared into Barry's eyes and saw the pain, confusion and anger that he had to be feeling. Barry had a dazed look on his face hinting that he was confused and his eyes were glazed over. When he was fully awake, Julian watched as Barry winced and touched his temple gingerly before grimacing slightly.
"You're an idiot you know that?" Julian told him, crossing his arms.
Barry groaned and glared at him. "Yeah I do. Thanks for telling me." He said sarcastically.
Julian responded in kind. "Anytime."
They sat in silence for the next five minutes staring at each other. Julian studied Barry closely. He could tell that his head was killing him and that he most likely wish he hadn't tried to calm Magenta down.
Barry sighed and combed his fingers through his hair. "The other night...why did you care so much?"
"Because I don't hate you Allen." Julian told him. "There's so much that you don't know."
Barry frowned at him. "What's that supposed to mean?"
Julian didn't give him an answer and left the lab.
Barry Allen
Barry didn't know what the hell Julian had meant by 'there's so much you don't understand'. Why would Julian say something like that?
Barry hated the fact that he couldn't read Julian's emotions. It reminded him so much of Leonard Snart. Sometimes Julian and Snart were so much alike it scared him.
Barry made a vow to find out what was going on with Julian. And man was that going to be one hell of a rollercoaster ride.
