We spent a long time in the hospital with friends and family visiting in between our physical therapy and mental therapy sessions. Lila was found guilty and locked up. My parents had to go back home to take care of the bakery, Adrien and his father moved into one of their other many mansions but Adrien mainly stays at my flat. I continued my courses online, ashamed of my scars from the fire that were all over my body. Adrien modeled still, but not as much, he didn’t cover his scars, but proudly showed them instead, testing people to say he was just a pretty face.
“Hi Chat.” I smiled as he entered from my balcony with groceries for dinner tonight. time had just passed our 19th birthday and it was now the middle of summer.
Chat had suggested a picnic the night before. We started making the sandwiches and mixing up some lemonade. I pulled out the basket and blanket and loaded it all up. The sun was starting to set so we grabbed an electric lamp, it was still hard for either of us to stay calm around fire, even as small as a candle.
There was a mess at our birthday when my mom lit the candles on a cupcake, one for each of us and me and Adrien started having an anxiety attack.
“Ready to go?” he asked. I nodded holding the packed dinner. He picked me up and we flew through the air to the top of the eiffel tower.
We watched the lights turn on through the city as the sun disappeared fully beyond the horizon. We finish up and I turn to Chat to see him blushing and holding a ring glittering in the lamp’s light. I gasp and hold out my hand.
“Yes!” I cry. He slipped it onto my finger and we embraced.
We got married in the fall, I became the new owner, Alya married Nino next spring. Over the years, me and Adrien have 3 children: Hugo, Emma, and Louis. Alya and Nino have a set of twins: Jeramy and Thomas who both have a fascination for cartoons and superheroes.
Me and Adrien grow old and die side by side with loved ones surrounding us happy, Alya and Nino experience the same fate. This is where our story ends.
