Jack stood in the hallway outside Gallia's room in the X-Mansion. The sign on the door read:
Practicing. Beware of imminent chaos and possible eardrum shattering awfulness.
ENJOY! :D
He was sure the music Gallia was warning of on the sign wouldn't be as bad as she insisted it would be. He hadn't known her to make a terrible composition for as long as he'd known her and he could hear the muffled sound of Gallia's violin through the door. He readjusted his hold on the bouquet of flowers nervously.
You're stalling, Kate's voice rang in his mind. Knock before I force you to. This was your idea after all.
Jack almost leaped out of his skin. Okay, okay. Fine...
Jack took a deep breath, trying hard to ignore Kate's touch in the back of his mind, and knocked on the door. The muffled music stopped almost instantly. Jack shifted his feet, getting even more nervous than he'd been previously. When was this a good idea?
The door opened and Gallia appeared. She grinned when she saw Jack, her magenta eyes sparkling. "Hey, Jack!"
Jack smiled and held out the flowers. "I, um, I got these for you." He felt his face warming up and cursed himself mentally.
Gallia took the flowers and touched one of the tulips carefully. "Thank you." She tucked some stray purple hair behind her ear and looked at Jack. She giggled. "You want to say something else don't you?"
Jack rubbed his hands together and took a deep breath. "Yeah. First, happy Valentine's Day and second... would you want to... go out to dinner? You- you don't have to, I just wanted to ask."
Gallia laughed. "Of course. No need to be so nervous, Cadence," she teased.
Jack made a face. "Please not the Cadence thing again. I like Rhythm so much better."
"If you say so, drummer boy!"
Jack chuckled. "Well excuse me, Lady... um... phooey. I've got nothing."
Gallia leaned against the doorframe and spun the flowers in her hands. She grinned. "Because Tenor isn't good?"
"I didn't say that!" Jack objected indignantly.
Gallia laughed again. "I know you didn't. I have a class to teach soon so I'll catch you later."
Jack nodded and walked away. He couldn't stop himself from grinning like an idiot. Success!
Now, now. Don't get puffed up about it now, Kate chided in a joking way. You can thank me later.
Jack shook his head, warping a bird's song into a dubstep tune to calm himself down. Can you get out of my head now? I appreciate the help, but this is just rude.
A quiet laugh echoed in his mind, but he felt Kate's presence retreat. He headed outside to enjoy the warmer day. His mind still hadn't fully registered what he'd just asked Gallia to do.
Later, however, he fully comprehended it.
He instantly got nervous.

Hey guys! I know I haven't updated much. It's because I have so many chapters that I'm writing all at once that I can't update them all regularily. I also have to do Iron Girl, which is becoming a top priority, but I really wanted to write this so you're welcome.
If you have anything you want me to do let me know!
May the speed force be with you all!
The thought that I might one day actually update everything... it fills you with deTEMMIEnation. ;)
