Not 100% sure on this AU name, either CreepyPastaTale, CreepyPasta!Tale, C.P.Tale, idk fully yet

And not 100% about the shirt color either, might change that later (but the stars will stay)

Not quick summary of AU while excluding a lot more specific info:

Basically in this AU the war was not only between humans and monsters, but also CreepyPasta. The CreepyPasta weren't really on a side, they just sabotaged both sides, gave information, basically had both races become more paranoid of each other and made any hint of peace impossible in the beginning. It got to the point where humans and monsters were so racist / discriminatory against each other because of them. However, a lot of CreepyPasta lost their lives so they just one day disappeared from the war, leaving both sides still at each others throats.

When humans finally won the war, it wasn't good. Many humans were so displeased that the government gave mercy to the monsters that they formed resistance groups and ambushed monsters who were trying to escape to the mountain. It was so bad that this day was dubbed as the "Great Monster Purge", where 1/3 of the entire monster population was murdered in one day.

W.D. Gaster had previously fought in the war as Assistant General to Gerson (obviously the monster ranking system in the royal guard is diff than humans rankings) but when he had Sans he decided to quit to go raise his son. He then had Papyrus when Sans was 5 years old. That is when the war ended, and when Gaster planned to take his children underground, but heard about the ambushes and decided to tell Sans to stay home while he went to go scout a clear path for him to take his children safely. (If he risked taking them they would probably die, he can't protect himself and two little children, one of which is a literal baby and the other who cant exactly run very fast and who hasn't developed his magic yet). 

Of course Gaster was ambushed, and after he promised Sans he would be back in 5 minutes, he did not return for 2 hours. because of that, Sans was anxiously awaiting his return and terrified that he was abandoned, and so he quickly answered the door when he heard footsteps outside. Instead of seeing his father, he had a gun pointed to his face and he was kidnapped by a human resistance group. 

This group was kidnapping monster children and shoving them into vans to drive to a separate location. Papyrus was spared because he was still in his crib in another room and they didn't search the house. When Gaster came back, he found Papyrus, no Sans, and a pool of blood with dust down the street. He assumed Sans died, and Sans assumed Papyrus died and Gaster died. 

Okay, speedrun time. Basically resistance group wanted to use the children as hostages to lure out the monsters who escaped underground and completely kill the monster race, but bc of the purge day the monsters practically sped underground and the barrier was already up, so they couldn't exactly use the hostages anymore. So these people had all these kidnapped children and nothing to do with them. So they decided to at least profit off of them and started selling off the rights for people to torture and kill them (like i said at this point humans really, really hated monsters). 

But then this group of scientists found out after a week or two of this and bought all of the remaining children for a hefty sum and they were transported to some lab. That's where Sans spent the next 15 years of his life being experimented on, dehumanized, ect. That's where all of the needle marks on his body come from. Basically they only fed him once a month and gave him tiny amounts of shitty old food, didn't teach him anything, and basically used him as a blood/magic bag so they could build weapons with his magic. Sans became the only survivor because all of the other children either were species who couldn't last a month without food, tried to escape which got them killed, or were older than him so they ended up falling down and dusted in their cells. 

Sans realized he only had so little time left before he dusted so he decided, fuck it, he's gonna escape. But funny thing about monsters is that they can't kill anyone without proper soul training bc of the negative consequences on their souls. That's why the humans were never afraid the monsters would try to attack them bc if they did kill one of them their souls would experience so much karma that it'd instantly make them fall down. But Sans has no monsters too train his soul with since he's the last survivor.

So he just completely cuts out the part of the soul that stops him from doing it. Souls have different sections, so some parts regulate happiness, sadness, ect. Sans cuts out the karma part of monster souls that makes them unable to kill people without consequences. However since he's a 20 year old who never went to school he doesn't exactly do it right and ends up removing his ability to feel remorse for death or empathy altogether. So oops.

Long story short he kills them all (their constant draining of his magic had the effect of actually increasing his magic reserves, to the point where he's very strong and has a lot of magic) and ends up burning down the building that has all of the weapons. None of the scientists survive, and Sans is left to walk amongst corpses and fire alone. Until Slenderman, who was scouting to see what the hell caused such an event, found him and thus Sans became a CreepyPasta when he was 20 years old. 

Obviously Sans didn't come out of that situation unscathed. His mental trauma he got from that is PTSD (i mean obviously he literally grew up in the midst of a war then was kidnapped and tortured), binge eating disorder (they fed him so little that he is shorter than classic sans and skinnier to, to the point where if he fell a certain way he could full on break an arm or leg from just tripping over a rock) and he's so terrified of not having food again that he full on forces himself to eat way past comfort to the point where he almost throws up everytime, but with help from the creepypasta sans doesn't do this anymore. He also has bipolar disorder (technically bipolar 1 disorder) he received genetically from gaster. If he had been raised fully by gaster Sans would have almost no issues with this illness bc he would have gotten proper treatment and medications, but because of his childhood environment it became way way worse, to the point where he has horrible manic episodes or terrible depressive episodes, and does sometimes experience hallucinations during his manic episodes. It'd get better with medication and therapy but, you know, Sans doesn't really have access to that. And finally he has dependent personality disorder bc of gasters abandonment, and is terrified of being abandoned. When Slenderman takes him to the creepypasta mansion he never leaves his side, and when sans finally grows comfortable and trusting of the creepypasta he is finally able to roam the mansion without needing anyone with him, but he refuses to leave the mansion without someone with him and needs them to be by his side the entire time because sans is terrified of the surface. Sans does learn to manage some of his mental illnesses with the creepypasta (like the binge eating is almost entirely dealt with and very rarely flairs up in times of stress), but other ones can only be managed so much by a support system. 

Most AUs have their official "start" of it being underground when frisk falls down. This AU actually starts when monsters escape the underground with frisk. everything up to this point is the backstory and lore of the world. Sans would be 35 when monsters break out of the Underground, Papyrus would be 30, Gaster would be 67, undyne would be 35, alphys 32, toriel/asgore would be 125 (boss monsters age slower so they can live up to 200), frisk would be 12. 

Not going to spoil the story itself, but there's the basic AU! Time for some facts!

-Straight up need to tell you guys Toby isn't in this AU. The only reason I keep him in the other stories is because he's the Father of Tondra and I kinda need him for that, but to respect the creator of Ticci Toby, since Tondra is the child of classic Sans and Toby, she and none of the other children will not be existing within this au so therefore toby will not be included out of respect for the creator

-Like stated earlier, no children for sans. He's very mentally unstable and needs proper help, if he had any children they would end up dead 

-Sans does like animals. Slenderman has bought him several pets. They all died within the week. Now he just sticks to goldfish. Sans (sometimes) keeps them alive. That is why he gets no kids. If he can't even feed a fish he cannot handle a child. 

-All of those little marks on his body are needle holes. They drained him so much that now they're scarred and will never fully heal. And, as a result, Sans is deathly afraid of needles and scientists alike. Which is bad because Gaster is a scientist. 

-Gaster / Sans have no idea each other is alive. Papyrus and Gaster lived underground assuming sans was dead this entire time. And when sans was brought in by the creepypasta, ben was sent to scour any cameras and found none that showed gaster going underground, so ben assumed he was dead and relayed the message that gaster and papyrus never made it underground. In reality gaster was one of the last people to enter the underground moments before the barrier went up because he was trying to find any chance of sans being alive. He would have completely risked his life and stayed on the surface if he didn't have papyrus. He was in denial for the first month being underground but after that he had to accept that if sans didn't die yet, he definitely did by then. 

-Sans is actually terrible with his magic. He has a lot of it, but he never really learned how to summon anything without the help of a weapon or science. He only can do telekinesis without any device, and that's how he killed all of the scientists originally. So Sans can build weapons that are an extension of his body to channel his magic through, but without them he's entirely useless. 

-His LV is up in the 30's / 40's. Sans has a certain... joy for torturing people. He was tortured, why shouldn't other people? It's common for a creepypasta to kidnap someone to give to sans to have fun with. Sometimes he even sets them loose in the forest and hunts them down and snipes them for the fun. 

-Sans has amazing aim. Seriously, amazing aim. Because he's a monster, the creepypasta only let him go onto missions where he's hidden from the location and snipes from far away. And that's if he goes on missions. Most of the time he's in his lab building weapons or in the forest shooting at stuff. 

-He's wearing Jane's shirt. It's a croptop for her that's too small for her because of a certain part of her body, but Sans really really loved the stars so she gave it to him. Those pants are also Tim's. They were too long so Sans ended up ripping them up to try and get them to fit. 

-Yes, his nails are painted. Sans loves painting his nails. His cell was grey, and his only colorful piece of clothing faded years ago in the cell. So he adores anything that's bright / sparkles and loves pretty things.

-Because he never went underground, his eye socket was never injured so both of his eyelights light up when using magic. But because he has so much of it and doesn't know how to really use his magic like most monsters do, his eye lights are always glowing red and blue. Only under very rare conditions when he runs out of magic do they revert back to white/red.

-Sans does not know how to navigate any social situation. He's such a shitty liar that its super obvious if he does. But he doesn't trust anyone who isnt a creepypasta, to the point where someone who isnt a creepypasta could tell him the sky was blue and he'd be trying to figure out what color it really is. 

-When he's first brought in by slenderman, he knows jack shit about anything other than science. Sans has no idea what a lot of food is, what a microwave or pillow is, and has no idea how babies are made. The last one results in a very awkward and longggg conversation because slenderman ALSO finds out Sans has no idea what genitals are (like he has none so he has no idea other people have them).

-everyone sorta just grows to love sans so they let him get away with a lot of shit. He's small and cute but he's crazy. But he's cute and the creepypasta are also all unhinged so they don't care

-None of them ever "officially" start dating but sans does enter a relationship with the other creepypasta. Sans never learned the concept of monogamy so he thinks its completely normal to just cuddle up, kiss, and have sex with everyone he loves if they want it. the creepypasta don't correct him about this because they dont really mind. So Sans has no idea there's official terms (married, dating, ect). So the creepypasta just all sort of silently agree that they're now all dating sans. 

-sans is very good with building things. Like he can build a working gun out of a toaster than can kill people. He grew up watching people build weapons from his magic, it's all he really knows. 

And that's all I'm revealing for now! I do plan to draw / write stuff while my Welcome Home, Serial Killer series is being released. I want to take my time bc this AU has been rewritten THREE times in the past year and now I'm finally at a spot where I feel comfortable enough with the AU to know this is what I want. 

And also, want to make sure I do a hella lot of research for all of the mental disorders. Please keep in mind guys that the only reason Sans' disorders make him so unstable is because he had no access to proper medication, therapy, treatment, ect.
