"Looks like room SEA323 is your dorm, Pip."
I continued to stand in front of the door, dreading the two flags next to mine.
"O, anong hinihintay mo? Red carpet? Sige, pumasok na tayo!"
("Oh, what're you waiting for, red carpet? Let's go inside!")
Tatay noticed there was a doorbell and pressed it.
"Saya akan menjawab pintu!" A familiar woman's voice rang out from inside.
("I'll answer the door!")
The door unlocked, revealing a woman with a similar hair color to Nanay's, but with what looks like three interlocking diamonds, and she's wearing a different headpiece...
"Ah, akak Katipunan!" She smiled and clapped her hands together. "What took you so long? Come in, come in." She stepped aside and gestured for us to come in.
("Ah, brother Katipunan!")
We stepped inside, and just as I expected...
Indonesia and Malaysia are my roomates.
They looked at my direction and smiled.
"Salam, Philip!" Indo and Mal greeted me with a wave and smile, before continuing to unpack.
("Hi, Philip!")
I smiled and waved back at them. "Kamusta Indo, Mal!"
("Hi Indo, Mal!")
Tatay looked around, looking like he was looking for someone.
"Ate Golden Kherosene and ate Zamrud, if you don't mind me asking, where are your husbands?"
Ah, oo nga. It's tita Golden Kherosene, Malaysia's mom. And tita Zamrud, Indonesia's mom.
"Oh, Malaya is with Singapore in her own dorm, helping her unpack." Tita Golden Kherosene told him.
"And Majapahit is with Papua New Guinea and Timor Leste in their dorm, helping them unpack." Tita Zamrud, Indo's mom, told him.
"I see," Tatay said and turned to Nanay. "In that case, mahal, you and Gregorio can go find his dorm. I'll stay here with Philip and help him unpack."
"Okey, mahal. But before I go," Nanay walked torwards me and gave me a small kiss on my forehead, and smiled. "Be a good boy, and enjoy, hah?" She cupped my cheeks. "And don't forget to call and visit us every once in a while, especially during Christmas-"
"Opo, 'Nay."
("Yes, Mom.")
Kuya D.P. called out for me from the door. "I'll text you about my dorm once Nanay and I finish unpacking, okey?"
Nanay finally let go of my cheeks.
"Opo, kuya."
("Yes, big brother.")
Kuya D.P. smiled and looked at Nanay. "Let's go na, 'Nay. These boxes aren't going to unpack themselves, you know?"
"Aha, right." With one last smile toward me and Tatay, Nanay left with kuya to find his dorm and unpack.
The door closed behind them and I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked back and saw Tatay smiling at me.
"O sige anak, which box do you want us to start with, hm?"
("Alright, son. Which box do you want us to start with, hm?")

//Hours later...
With so much boxes to unpack, we didn't realize how late it was by the time we were finally done.
Malaysia, Indonesia, and I all finished unpacking around the same time. We all gathered in the living room with our parents to wish them goodbye for now.
As Indonesia's and Malaysia's parents were giving them little kisses and talking in their native language, Tatay was giving me a brief talk and running through our checklist one last time.
"One more time anak. If anyone here is giving you a hard time-"
"Beat the living daylights out of them. I know, 'Tay. This is the 50th time we've gone over this." I exaggerated.
Tatay chuckled and ruffled my hair. "Tama, I just wanted to make sure, because no son of mine is a push-over wuss."
After a few chuckles, Tatay spoke again.
"But in all seriousness, tandaan mo yung sinabi ng Nanay mo sa'yo-"
("But in all seriousness, remember what your mother told you-")
"Opo, be a good boy and enjoy." I smiled.
("Yes, be a good boy and enjoy.")
"And?"
I sighed. "And... don't forget to call every once in a while and visit you, especially Christmas-"
To my surprise, Tatay suddenly pulled me into a hug.
"Mahal kami ng Nanay mo ikaw at yung kuya mo..." he whispered.
("Your mother, older brother, and I love you...")
"Naks, iiyak na yan~" I teased, recieving a soft smack on the back of the head from Tatay.
("Naks, he's gonna cry~)
He let go and headed with Indonesia and Malaysia's parents to the door. Indonesia and Malaysia we're wishing their parents one final goodbye in their language, and I decided to do the same.
"Ingat, 'Tay. Mahal kita ni Nanay." I called out to him, whispering that last part. But he still heard it and smiled.
("Be careful, Dad. I love you and Mom.")
"Alam ko."
("I know."
Then the door closed.
"Alright!" Indo exclaimed, a little too loudly. "What's for dinner, guys?"
"I brought some pork. Maybe we can have some pork adobo?"
Indo and Mal looked at me weirdly.
"What?"
"Phil, we're Muslims. We don't eat pork, remember?"
I mentally facepalmed. "'Ay putcha, I forgot." What am I going to do with all these pork my parents bought me now? "A-Ah, sorry about that..."
Indo gave me a reassuring smile. "Don't sweat it, Phil. Besides, I'm sure you'll have no problem having that all to yourself, right?"
"Yeah, I guess..." He has a point. I can always give the leftover to someone else.
Mal sighed. "Looks like we're spending our first night together eating out. You wanna come, Phil?"
I shook my head. "Thanks, but I'm good. I'll just start cooking pork adobo for myself."
"You sure?"
I nodded my head and smiled.
Indo and Mal looked at each other for a bit, then back at me.
"Ok then. Just text or call us if you need anything, lah."
I nodded my head in understanding. "Got it."
And with that, they left.
I walked to the kitchen to start cooking, but I felt my phone in my pocket vibrate.
I took it out and saw a new message from kuya D.P.
Kuya D.P .: Hoy Pip, I'm here in room NEA318 with North Korea and Taiwan. If you need anything, you know what to do. ;)
Me : Opo, got it, kuya. Salamat. :)
(Yes, got it, big brother. Thanks. :))
Me : Oh, nandyan pa ba si Nanay?
(Oh, is Mom still there?)
Kuya D.P. : Hindi. She just left a few minutes ago. Bakit? Si Tatay, nandyan pa sya dyan sa'yo?
(No. She just left a few minutes ago. Why? Is Dad still there with you?)
Me : Wala lang. Hindi rin. He just left a few minutes ago, too.
(It's nothing. And no. He just left a few minutes ago, to.)
Kuya D.P. : Ah, okey. ;)
I put down my phone and began cooking. After thirty minutes, the food was done and I spent another five minutes eating. When that was done, I did the dishes, cleaned up, and got ready for bed.

"Mal, I thought we agreed on one package only!"
"I could say the same about your indomie!"
My eyes open groggily to the sound of familiar arguing outside. I sat up and walked over to where the I heard the two from.
"Tsk, tsk, back already?" I teased. "How was your dinner?"
"Shut up and help us with these plastic bags, lah."
My eyes adjust to the plastic bags they're carrying.
"Those better be some groceries."
Indo scratched the back of his neck nervously. "I mean, sort of?" He laughed nervously as I raised an eyebrow.
Mal sighed. "I think we went a little overboard with the milo and indomie..."
"You think?" Now it was my turn to sigh as I pinched the bridge of my nose. "The least you guys could've done is buy me ONE mango."
"But mangoes are expensive-"
"If you had the money to buy packages of indomie and milo, then you could've spared some for one mango."
"Hey, in our defense, you had your pork. Now let us have and enjoy our milo and indomie." Indo argued.
I sighed. "I guess that's fair..."
"Alright, how about we establish some dorm rules, lah?"
