chapter 16 : Science Project

CIA was watching TV on the couch in the living room, when suddenly, loud banging from outside their front door filled the room.

"FBI! OPEN UP!"

"HEY! THAT'S MY LINE!" CIA laughed as her brother-in-crime ran out his bedroom to answer the door.

FBI opened the door to reveal none other than UN.

"Oh, UN, how may we help you?"

"It has been brought to my attention that a little... skirmish... broke out in the Dining Hall. You and CIA need to help me address it ASAP."

FBI clicked his tounge and shrugged his shoulders. "Well, I don't know what else you were expecting. You of all people should know very well about some of these countries' pasts with one another."

"Are you scolding me, Officer FBI? A mere security official against a diplomatic official?"

FBI only smirked and crossed his arms. "For someone who calls himself a 'diplomatic official', leaving nations by themselves to possibly mingle with old enemies was a pretty dumb move on your part, in my opinion."

Before UN could retaliate, CIA spoke up from the lounge couch. "Alright, alright. And may we know just who exactly do we need to handle? Is it America and Russia again?" She asked, hoping like crazy for a no.

"Pio del Pilar and the royal Spanish Empire."

FBI and CIA looked at each other and sighed. "Ah yes, just like the old days..."

The campus head security, FBI and CIA, was called in. They stepped into the Dining Hall and kept a low profile as they escorted the two families outside through the back door to attract as little attention as possible. Besides, most of them were still focused on Lanfang Republic and Strait Settlement's sudden unannounced return.

From the back, they escorted the two families to the campus hospital.

______________________________________________

In the campus' main courtyard, happy chattering and laughter rang throughout the area.

But when you look up, a certain building on campus overlooks the area. It was a large white building with many floors and windows, signifying it had many rooms. On the roof, there was a large red cross not only to signify passerby on the ground that it's a hospital; but also to signify pilots and anyone else in the air that it's a hospital, and to attack that building would be a declaration of war. On the front, the logo of the World Health Organization is painted in blue.

It was the campus hospital. It's a building with the services of a hospital, pharmacy, and school all rolled into one. It's also where students can study and research anything in the medical field. All under the supervision of Dr. WHO.

In one of their rooms, Spanish Empire was with his family, being treated for his bloody nose and bruises by none other than Dr. WHO himself; as Spanish Empire demanded the nurses and refused medical attention from anyone less.

"I must warn you, oh royal Spanish Empire, this may come as a quick shock. But it should subside after a few seconds." Dr. WHO told Spanish Empire, who nodded his head in response. Dr. WHO then gave him a few seconds to get ready, before gently putting an ice pack on one of his many bruises.

Spanish Empire hissed in pain as he felt the cold ice sting his bruise, before biting his lower lip to silence any more sounds of pain that may escape his lips.

Dr. WHO just sighed and said, "Royal Spanish Empire, with all due respect, one of my nurses could've easily attended to your wounds, as they aren't anywhere near life-threatening."

"Hmph, as if some peasant nurses are worthy enough to even look at me."

"Papa, por favore-"
("Dad, please-")

"Silencio, España."
("Silence, Spain.")

Dr. WHO bowed his head. "My sincerest apologies, oh royal Spanish Empire. But once again, with all due respect, as Principal Earth's leading medical professional, I have more important responsibilities to attend to-"

As he finished that sentence, he caught a glance of Spanish Empire's wife giving him a death glare.

Dr. WHO wasn't intimidated by this. Usually, personifications from a peasant province to a royal country respects him. Country unions like SEA, EU, NATO, EAEU, and AU put him on par with UN and NATO. UN and NATO themselves view him as his equal. Even Principal Earth himself gives him a level of respect higher than he gives others, as he knows that the medical knowledge he holds is of immense value to humanity.

Yet despite all that influence, he was a humble man. He couldn't really do anything more with the royal Spanish family, but sigh in defeat.

'It's been years since that incident... and you've only grown more bitter, royal Spanish Empire...'

In a separate room, far from Spanish Empire's as to avoid any further conflict; Katipunan was being treated for his scratches bruises by his son, Philippines; and his daughter, Maharlika; both nursing students of Dr. WHO. And his top students, at that.

.

.

"Get ready, 'Tay, this might sting a little-"

"Aray!"

"... I warned you."

Katipunan hissed in pain as his daughter, Maharlika, dabbed a small cotton with alcohol on one of his many small cuts.

He caught a glance at Philippines, who was preparing some bandages on a small counter for his more serious, deeper cuts

He sighed sadly and tried calling for him. "Phil-"

"What else?"

Now Perla looked over to Phil. "Anak-"

"What else are you hiding from us, hah, Tatay? Nanay?" Philippines asked, his back still turned to them; but tears were beginning to form in his heterochromatic eyes. "Whenever I sleep... He's been giving me some sort of... memories? 'Memories' I don't even recognize. All featuring royal England with a gun aimed at Nanay's stomach. Why...?"

Silence fell upon the room.

Maharlika sighed. "Come on, if we keep up this atmosphere, we'll never be able to enjoy the family bonding. So please... let's just forget what just happened." She said, sounding like she was trying not to cry.

... The next day...

//Singapores' POV

.
.
.

It was science class with Mr. NASA, and I shared this period with Papua New Guinea, Timor Leste, Indonesia, and-

... Malaysia...

Ever since that complete disaster that's Parent-Child 'bonding' day yesterday, it didn't feel right to refer to him as my taiko anymore. And we don't talk as much as we used to. Heck, we don't even so much as look at each other anymore.

I shook my head and tried to get yesterday's events off my mind by listening to Mr. NASA.

"Alright class. I want everyone to start planning for and working on their science project. Everyone in this school, regardless of grade or socioeconomic status, will be required to participate, if they wish to pass their science credit."

The whole class groaned, but Mr. NASA simply rolled his eyes and continued on.

"Furthermore, your partners WILL BE your roomates-"

While some students actually seemed fine with that arrangement and settled down; others groaned even louder and tried to argue with Mr. NASA.

"- SILENCE! Now, even if your roomates are in a different science class, don't worry. They'll be informed of all this in their respective science classes. It'll be due next month when the science fair takes place."

Though there were still some frustrated murmurs, it slowly quieted down. That is, until he added, "Oh, and actually try to act like scientists and NOT do the overused 'baking soda volcano' experiment. If you do, that's an automatic 'F' for 'unoriginality'."

And with that, the loud groans and complaints came back, but Mr. NASA just ignored them until the bell rang.

He grabbed some papers off the side of his desk, straightened them for a bit, then said, "Class dismissed. I look forward to seeing your creations by then."

And with that, everyone poured out the room for lunch.
