Season one, chapter twenty-six

"Do you believe in fairytales?"

THEA RAISED her black mask, covering half of her face. Her hurried footsteps echoed through the hallways of the building. Where was she? On a very important mission. Everything had to go according to plan or else they would sink into the darkness of their fury and resentment.

"My hair looks perfect for this role. This photo is too old. Who the heck is Jin-ok?" Ms. Chu said on the other side of the small device that Thea was wearing in her ear

"I've kept that photo with me for seven long years. Give me a new one, then" Jangmul replied mischievously

"This isn't time to be flirting" Mo-tak commented interrupting their interaction

"I knew something was up between you and Ms. Chu, chairman Choi" Mun exclaimed mischievously and Thea could see the little smile spread across her teammate's face

"You caught on" Jangmul giggled

Suddenly Thea remembered what Mun's grandfather had told her that night, would it be a good time to mention that? Although she was curious to know where he got that story from, she also didn't want to get involved in his business.

But what difference does it make? Fuck it, she really wanted to talk about it.

"Hey, Mun. So apparently, I asked you out" Thea mentioned after having battled it inside her head

"Wait. How did you know?" Mun questioned on the other side with great interest in knowing how the girl had managed to discover that

"So I did. Your grandfather told me" Thea explained with an unconscious smile on her lips

"Oh, because he kept asking me all these questions about you, I had to explain... oh, thanks for the bungeoppang" Mun thanked to which Thea smiled although no one could see it due to the face-mask she was wearing

"Exactly. So why..."

"Wait, what's the bungeoppang about?" Mo-tak interrupted their conversation making Thea snort in frustration at being interrupted, oh how she hated it when they did

"Why did I ask you out first in your story?" Thea continued to say, completely ignoring Mo-tak's question

"Then if I said I asked you out first, is that all right?" Mun said with a hint of mischief and Thea knew it. Where had he gotten so much courage to say that?

Thea felt the famous butterflies fluttering inside her stomach, how did just a few words make her feel all these kinds of strange sensations? It was very admirable, she had to admit, but it wasn't the right time for it.

"What a load of nonsense. Remember to use honorifics" Thea scolded him, feeling her cheeks burn with embarrassment

"Yes, ma'am" Mun responded. On the other hand, Thea smirked before continuing on her way

"Aren't you from the noodle place?" Thea raised an eyebrow. Suddenly from the other side different mixed voices began to be heard "My goodness. What brings all of you here? For Shin Myeong-hwi? You are handsome, Shin Myeong-hwi! We love you, Shin Myeong-hwi! It's nice to see you here"

Thea sighed finally arriving backstage where everything was being broadcast on television. She stood next to Hana who was peeking her head out of the large curtain a little. And she couldn't help but cover her mouth to avoid letting out a big laugh when she saw the video playing behind Shin Myeong-hwi.

Suddenly Mo-tak appeared running on stage with a gas mask on his face and a sprayer of liquids in his hands.

"Hello, I enjoy watching you on TV" He suddenly took the microphone in his hands "One, two. Microphone test. One, two" He climbed on top of the table "Everyone, I present to you this murderer who dumped waste illegally at the ground of the eco-friendly park!" Mo-tak exclaimed pointing at Myeong-hwi before dramatically jumping off the table

"Hana, now" Mun exclaimed and Thea watched as the girl next to her pressed a button on the control she had in her hands and thus a disgusting and stinking black liquid fell on Myeong-hwi, soaking him in seconds which made Thea celebrate in victory before telling Hana that she would go prepare for what came next.

Thea squeezed the machine in her hands, oh how she would enjoy seeing the terrified faces of those bastards, so she didn't waste a second when Mun gave them the signal, Thea and the two elders on her side began to climb the stairs menacingly catching the attention of the trio of men at the end of these banging on the door behind them desperately. The trio of counters pretended to reload their pistols.

"Gentlemen, take your wastewater back" Jangmul exclaimed, beginning to wet the three men with the same disgusting liquid from the reservoir

"Get a taste of your own water!" Ms. Chu said copying Jangmul's action

"Enjoy it while you can!" Thea exclaimed, copying the actions of both adults with a mocking smile on her face

"Stop it, you bastards!" One of the bastards exclaimed, putting his arms in front of him to cover himself from the liquid

"Did that taste good, you assholes?" Hana questioned walking up the stairs pointing the red extinguisher in her hands. And without thinking twice she filled the three men with white smoke

"Please!"

"Open the door, please!" They begged, banging on the door behind them, however no one seemed to want to open the door on the other side so Hana turned around nodding in the direction of the trio

"We're done here" The three of them turned to go down the stairs as if nothing had happened, leaving behind a group of embarrassed scammers

"During today's live broadcast, mayor Shin Myeong-hwi's face was splashed with wastewater"

"As you have heard, the site that was designated for the eco-friendly park as a part of ICT's phase-3 development was exposed as an illegal dumping ground where construction waste was dumped for decades and it caused a huge controversy"

"You're right. To sum it up, this will likely cause a problem for mayor Shin's presidential candidacy"

"That's definitely possible"

"It'll cause a problem for his presidential candidacy" Mun pointed in surprise at the television "An immense problem"

Finally their plan had worked, now everyone would know about all the dirty things those bastards had done, that meant that people would be more mindful about supporting Shin Myeong-hwi for president.

Thea moved wildly with the same excitement as her teammates, they were so happy about the news that they had not avoided dancing in victory, they didn't even care that they were in front of the customers in the restaurant.

"One!" Mun began to say making a pose

"Two" Mo-tak said making another pose

"Three" Followed Hana

"Four!" Ms. Chu exclaimed in a high-pitched voice

"Five" Thea finished with a hand under her chin breathing heavily. And once their show was over the customers began to applaud with excitement

"Here are your noodles"

"What's going on?"

"That looks so good"

"Cut it into big pieces"

"Stop that" They said when Mo-tak took the large piece of meat in his hands ready to bite into it

"Cut it into five pieces" Ms. Chu ordered with a serious face

"Five it is"

Thea savored each of the dishes on the table, they had made a great delicacy in celebration of their successful plan. After a long day of work and exhaustion, they deserved to fill their stomachs with extravagant homemade food.

"Wow, come on" Jangmul exclaimed as he entered the restaurant. Everyone rose from their seats in the presence of the eldest "You can't do this without me"

"Grab a seat. How did you know?" She pulled out a chair for him while Jangmul laughed, probably savoring the food already

"We kept it a secret on purpose" Mo-tak joked with a smirk on his face

"I could smell the meat all the way over there" Jangmul pointed out taking some wooden chopsticks in his hands

"He has a good nose"

"What happened to Mr. Kwon's daughter?" Mo-tak asked pouring soju into a glass for Jangmul

"Well, she's doing well at the hospital. Let's hope she stays strong" Jangmul explained nodding his head

"She'll live through this" Mun exclaimed with faith in the little girl

"All right" The six of them made a toast, the funniest thing about all this was the two youngest with a glass of juice compared to everyone else.

While Ms. Chu had scolded Thea for having tried alcohol without her permission, and had now prohibited her from doing so until she came of age to legally drink. She had even bought one of those devices where you have to blow into it to find out how much alcohol you had consumed, and there was not a day in which she returned from a friends' outing without going through that test every time she returned home.

Thea knew that this cheap device didn't work as it should, sometimes it told her that she had had too much alcohol and she hadn't even tried it. Either way, even if she tried to excuse herself, she ended up being scolded by Ms. Chu.

"It's hot" Mo-tak complained, standing up from his chair with his mouth slightly open as he bit into the piece of meat that was still emitting smoke

"Eat up, everyone"

"Ms. Chu, have a lettuce wrap" Mun commented, offering her a piece of meat and other condiments rolled in lettuce

"Goodness, thanks" Ms. Chu said opening her mouth for Mun to put the food inside it

"Okay, then"

"I want some garlic" Jangmul pointed out coughing fakely, Thea smiled amusingly putting a piece of meat into her mouth

"Garlic, okay" Ms. Chu repeated, although Thea couldn't help but let out a giggle as Jangmul opened his mouth ready to receive the food but Ms. Chu turned to Mun instead "Mun, It's for you"

"Okay" Mun received the food in his mouth with pleasure

"Feed yourself. You have hands" Ms. Chu told him. Jangmul changing his expression in a matter of seconds

"Right" Jangmul nodded, starting to cough in embarrassment

"Hana" Ms. Chu said noticing all the food Hana was putting on her lettuce "You're going to eat that in one bite? Can you really do that?"

"Whoa"

"Wow" Thea exclaimed in surprise when she saw Hana actually eat everything in one bite and she couldn't help but giggle in amusement

"I knew it" Ms. Chu gave her a thumbs up with her mouth full of food

"You have a huge mouth" Jangmul praised which made Thea smile in agreement with him

"Yes?" Mun suddenly said. He looked at the entire group with a serious face "All of us? Okay"

"Let's not get dragged around" Mo-tak exclaimed with meat in his mouth, knowing already what was to come

"Don't be scared, everyone" Ms. Chu commented drinking the remaining liquid in her glass cup

"Come back before the meat burns" Jangmul exclaimed hurriedly eating the meat

"Let's go, everyone"

"In  a little bit"

"Let's go" Ms. Chu raised her voice

"Wait a second"

Thea put her hand on her chest which began to glow white and thus she finally fell asleep on the table. Whatever's going on up there must be important enough to interrupt a meal as it is.

Author's note;

Guys, I'm not ready for what's coming, Thea's going to break down with the news and will surely go into depression once again 😭 but believe me it will be for the sake of the plot, so don't get too frustrated 🤗
