Season one, chapter twenty-five

"She is a child that
was forced to grow up"

Thea tightened her grip on the strap of her brown bag, which matched perfectly with her outfit. The fresh wind and warm sun welcomed her with a 'good morning', SuHo had requested to meet her at last minute at a coffee shop that they both knew very well. It had been her favorite meet up spot for two years in a row until she stopped going very often due to SuHo's sudden trip to the states.

She really didn't want to see him, not when she had finally gotten over him, not when she had found someone else. She stopped her steps when she was standing in front of the transparent glass door, sighing deeply as she grabbed the door handle and gently opened it.

The smell of coffee reached her nostrils, her eyes scanned the entire place in search of a certain black hair, and when she managed to spot who she was looking for in a corner near the window, she hesitated a little to approach him. Although she had no choice when her eyes made contact with his, she couldn't leave now.

She forced a smile on her face, walking across the black floor, the soles of her shoes echoed throughout the entire place when they made contact with the floor.

"It's good to see you again, I thought you've forgotten about me" Thea joked as she took a seat across from the boy

"It should be the other way around, don't you think?" SuHo emphasized the last words, letting her know that he was still hurt by her rejection

"Are you still upset about the sudden rejection?" Thea questioned with noticeable discomfort on her face. And the fidgeting with her hands did not go unnoticed by the boy "I'm sorry if I hurt you..."

"I didn't call you here so you could apologize, I called you here because we're going to have our second date." He interrupted her putting two fingers in the air with a small smile on his face that Thea could tell was fake

"Well, I only accepted because I said I would give you two more chances to confess" Thea exclaimed, clasping together both of her hands under the table, although she really wasn't sure why she had agreed to do that, though there was no turning back now, right?

SuHo looked down, feeling slightly saddened knowing that that was the only reason she was there. Unfortunately, he knew her too well to know when Thea was lying, which she had been doing ever since they met again.

"Well, should we get started? I have a lot of plans for today and I hope you like what I have prepared for you" SuHo exclaimed with a forced smile, trying to find a way to stay positive for the sake of the date

"Then let's get started," Thea agreed, grabbing her bag tightly before getting up from the comfortable wooden chair. She just wanted the day to go by faster than normal so that everything would be over soon

The first stop had been the amusement park, where Thea admitted to having had the best time of her life. She always wanted to enter the haunted house and when she stepped foot inside she instantly chickened out. Although there was no turning back and she had to go through complete torture with SuHo who made fun of her every time she got scared.

"You're mean, very mean, Lee SuHo" Thea exclaimed giving him a light playful hit on the shoulder

"Do you want to go in there for another round?" SuHo asked with amusement written on his face knowing the answer he was going to receive

"I'm not going back in there, so no thanks. Go in by yourself if you want" Thea instantly refused, hastening her steps to escape from there before SuHo could drag her back in there

SuHo let out a small laugh, making sure that every moment was recorded within his memories and gave him enough courage to be able to tell her the bad news that would probably ruin their relationship once again.

Leaving the depressing thoughts aside, Thea literally dragged SuHo to a photo booth, he hated the photos and she loved them. Without a doubt the ideal couple. At least that was what the people around them thought, a couple of teenagers who radiated happiness and love for each other. And let's not forget the jealous college and high school girls who watched them walk from here to there as if they were really a couple.

The two teenagers, oblivious to their actions, tried to take many photos to have as a souvenir. Thea made half a heart with one of her hands, forcing SuHo to make the other half with his hand and thus pose for the camera. Photo after photo, the time had flown by.

So, counting the time, they only had one more stop left and they would end the unexpected date.

Thea walked happily with two strips of photos in her hands and little bunny ears on her head. SuHo on the other hand discreetly admired her from the corner of his eye, arguing with himself whether to give her the gift he was carrying in his hands, he had bought it especially for her.

"Here, I bought it for you as a consolation gift for torturing you so badly in the haunted house" SuHo said as an excuse, extending the small gift bag to the brown-haired girl who was walking next to him

"Oh, you didn't have to. But it's still appreciated." Thea received the blue gift bag with excitement, one thing SuHo knew was that Thea loved gifts. No, she literally loved them. "Are they a couple's ring set?" The girl asked in confusion as she opened the small white box that was inside the gift bag

"They are, but we can use them as a set for friends" SuHo replied with a hopeful smile on his face

"SuHo..."

"Alright, alright, I'm sorry, I just wanted to match with you like we used to. I thought it would be a good idea" He sighed in disappointment, reaching out to take the small box from Thea's hands, not expecting her to push the box away from his reach

"Hey, you already gave it to me, you can't take it away from me. And since you already bought it, we'll have to use it" Thea explained, taking one of the rings out of the box. "Here, we'll use them as a set for friends." She extended the ring to SuHo, who gladly received it

"Well, then on to our last destination." Thea smiled in response as she admired the silver ring on her index finger

The last stop had been an extravagant and luxurious restaurant, which was owned by SuHo's father. He had reserved the entire restaurant just for the two of them, which Thea thought was crazy because even though she came from a wealthy family, she absolutely did not inherit anything, because she was still a minor, her uncle was lucky enough to be the third in the family list of heirs.

Jun-seo was in first, Athena was in second, and Ye-jun was in third. Since according to the police, the Park family was mysteriously murdered, Ye-jun kept all the fortune that belonged to Athena. She wasn't old enough to file a lawsuit against him and plus she was also presumed dead, so there was no point in trying to get back what was hers.

"You can order anything, it's on the house, well I'll invite" SuHo joked and Thea couldn't help but let out a small laugh

Thea looked at the long and expensive menu in her hands, SuHo is a very humble boy but very expensive in his own way, so she already expected him to bring her to a place like this. However, she had no plans to eat anything expensive from the menu with her ex-boyfriend's money, so she had only ordered a fruit cocktail and a glass of water.

SuHo had insisted that she order something more expensive but Thea refused with the excuse that she wouldn't have enough to pay him back. So he stopped insisting, because knowing her she would never change her mind.

"It was delicious," Thea exclaimed, placing the cutlery next to the now empty porcelain plate

"It would have been more delicious if you had ordered something more expensive" SuHo reproached, crossing his arms over his chest as if he were angry with her

"Of course, but like I already told you..."

"Yeah, yeah, I understand" SuHo interrupted her, letting out a snort. The place became silent in a matter of seconds and Thea couldn't help but look down at her restless hands "Thea... I really like you a lot, I'm really in love with you" SuHo began to say softly

"Is this your second confession?" Thea asked with a nervous giggle asking the universe to get her out of there

"It probably is..." SuHo connected his gaze with hers before stretching his hand towards the end of the other side of the table where Thea's was. "Thea, I have to tell you something else..."

A ringtone filled the silent room, and Thea pulled her hand away before it could make contact with SuHo's. She noticed the disappointment in his eyes when he retracted his hand but still brushed it aside when she saw the name of the contact who was calling her at this hour.

"Hello?" Thea asked with the phone against her ear

"Thea, thank god. You have to come here right now, there's something important we need to talk about" Ms. Chu's voice said on the other end of the phone line

"Okay, I'll be there right away" Thea nodded, eternally grateful to the universe and the gods for saving her from rejecting SuHo once again "SuHo, it was really lovely to be able to spend all this time with you, I really had fun but I have to go. It's something urgent." She began to say gathering her belongings

"But I have to tell you something important..." He stood up from his seat when Thea almost tripped over the white tablecloth of the table because of the rush she was in

"I'm sorry, I'll make it up to you by inviting you on another date, okay? I really have to go." She gave him an apologetic smile and without waiting for a response from him, she ran out of the place, leaving behind a boy with a broken heart

SuHo sighed in frustration before plopping down onto his seat heavily.

Thea scratched the back of her neck in frustration, as she leaned against the wall behind her. The only thing that could be questioned was why and for what reason did those damn idiots do all those bad things? They seemed to be involved in every single tragedy in Jungjin, and even though there was many evidence, who the hell would believe the nonsense those idiots had done?

Thought the group already know that the police are on those bastards side and unless they have a plan, they cannot act against them, much less try to give them what they deserve on their own or they would be fired from their job as counters.

Mo-tak let out a loud cry of frustration, standing up from his seat in one swift movement.

"Damn it, those assholes!" He exclaimed, raising his fist to try to hit the wall but Hana stopped him inches from smashing his fist against the wall

"Man, come on" Hana exclaimed shaking her hand in pain "Don't destroy the place, Mo-tak"

"I can't believe this" Ms. Chu began to say with a serious face "People disappearing one after another and Kidd getting sick and dying. Then they cover it up by killing another person. Shin Myeong-hwi and those jerks"

"Yet people don't know that these things are happening in Jungjin" Thea added crossing her arms over her chest

"We'll expose it" Mun exclaimed, determined to do so

"How?" Hana asked with a serious face without having much hope in it

"It can't be covered up" Mun shook his head as Mo-tak pressed his forehead hard against the wall repeatedly

"The police are on their side" Hana reminded him

"Let's let everyone know, Mun. Let's stir them up" Mo-tak began to explain, turning around to look at the younger who nodded in response "Let's pull down their underpants in front of everyone"

"What? Underpants?" Ms. Chu questioned in confusion meanwhile Mun narrowed his eyes in suspicion

Thea raised an eyebrow in confusion when Mo-tak began to approach Mun menacingly, the teenager instantly grasped the older man's intentions and immediately put his hands on his pants, covering himself from anything that was Mo-tak's intention. Although no one expected him to actually pull down Mun's pants.

Thea gasped in surprise, quickly covering her eyes, feeling the blood rise to her pale cheeks that now seemed to glow reddish.
