Season one, chapter forty-one

"The sun in his smile
the fire in his eyes"

THE GROUP arrived just in time to So-eun's rescue, and without a care in the world, Mo-tak stepped on the accelerator as hard as he could. The tires screeched on the ground and the men moved to the side to avoid being run over by the car.

And as soon as the car stopped, each of the team members got out of the black car with determination on their faces. How dare they kidnap a completely innocent girl knowing that she's not in good condition to be involved in this type of hustle and bustle.

"Damn it. Guys, whack them" Tae-sin ordered his group of men

Mo-tak winked at the three women before smashing his fist against one of the men who was hurriedly approaching them, sending him flying away from there with a loud grunt of pain as he crashed hard against the floor.

"Oh boy. I told him to go easy on them" Ms. Chu exclaimed with a frown

The trio of women watched as Mo-tak finished off each of the men with such ease, making the whole job look so easy. Mun on the other hand was fighting with Baek Hyang-hui. When trying to sneak from behind and save So-eun, the short-haired girl had gotten in his way.

Although before the aforementioned could escape the clutches of the counter team, Ms. Chu, Hana and Thea grabbed her by her feet, pulling her once towards the ground.

"Shit" Baek Hyang-hui was cursing underneath her breath under the grip of the trio who left her pinned to the ground. So Mun took this as his chance to rush to the rescue of the little girl trapped inside the car

Although in a quick movement Hyang-hui managed to free herself from the grip of the trio of women. Sending a kick to each of them and thus finally escape. Thea sighed frustratedly, remaining seated on the cold, rough pavement after being thrown like that by the short-haired girl, her eyes falling on her boyfriend watching him hold the little girl in his arms protectively, unconsciously making her smile.

"Ga Mo-tak!" Tae-sin exclaimed loudly being the last among his men. Although he seemed intimidated by the serious gaze of the aforementioned "No, I mean... detective Ga. I didn't do anything. Shin Myeong-hwi told me..." He started to say, trying to get out of the mess he had gotten himself into, but Mo-tak didn't seem to care and instead punched him in the face, making him stumble back as his nose bled

"This is what worthless scumbags like you deserve" Mo-tak provided another punch, as if he had waited a long time to do this

"Detective Ga" Tae-sin said as he stepped back with fear in his eyes

"This is my motto. 'Beat them up to a pulp but don't kill them'" Mo-tak mentioned giving blow after blow

"I'm one of the top 50 business tycoons in this country..." Tae-sin complained, receiving another punch

"Even a criminal like you is this clever and savvy. It makes me think that we really need to smarten up" Mo-tak threw another punch, though Tae-sin now seemed to want to pass out"Hey, stay with me" He took the man's face in his hands, shaking him to wake up "No, get up. Come on. All right, 12 more punches to go. I'll make you suffer, you bastard"

"Hey, enough!" Ms. Chu stopped his fist halfway "You'll break his nose. It's so annoying to waste my power on healing jerks like him"

"Well, I just couldn't control my anger" Mo-tak admitted scratching the back of his head like a little child being caught doing prank

"Hey, do you realize who you're dealing with here? I'm Cho Tae-sin!" But now it was Ms. Chu who slammed her fist into his face, leaving him unconscious on the ground

"It'll be a lot of work anyway. One punch won't make a difference" Ms. Chu defended herself upon the look Mo-tak was giving her

"All right!" Mo-tak gave her a thumbs up, approving what she had done

"We'll erase these jerks' memories as well as So-eun's and say that So-eun called the police" Ms. Chu explained, listening to the police sirens in the distance

"Wait, where's Hana?" Mun asked in confusion as he did not see any trace of the aforementioned

"What?"

Thea looked towards where Hyang-hui had gone and already imagined that Hana had gone after her, after all she still seemed to resent her for talking about her parents that way.

"Do you think you can find her with the territory?" Ms. Chu asked Thea, approaching her with concern

"I'll try" Thea nodded determinedly. So Mun did not hesitate using the territory so that Thea could find her but apparently everything ended up being in vain. There was no trace of either Hana or Baek Hyang-hui, which led her to the conclusion that she had followed Hyang-hui to her hiding place.

Thea narrowed her eyes when Tae-sin stepped out of the car where the police were transporting him, immediately being surrounded by reporters and people who now seemed to be against him. Of course, people seem to change sides whenever they please, that's how easy it is to be disloyal.

"Any comment as the Chairman of Tae-sin?" asked a woman with a microphone in front of him waiting for an answer

"Apologize to the kids!" Said another with hatred in her eyes towards the accused

"This is a mere conspiracy against me and Taesin Group. I'll cooperate with the investigation" Tae-sin said starting to walk before stopping when he saw the group of Counters on one side of the building entrance

Although Thea almost laughed when an egg and flour was thrown in his face.

"Everyone!" Jangmul exclaimed on top of one of  the cement constructions (?) "Huge articles on the front place, please! That evil son of a bitch doesn't even deserve to be called human. We can put up with all kinds of jerks, but not those who hurt our children!"

"Get down" Ms. Chu whispered, signaling him to get down from up there

"I'm counting on you reporters!"

"Our old man's trying hard" Mo-tak exclaimed shaking his head in disbelief. Watching as more people were encouraged to throw flour and eggs at Tae-sin

"You piece of..." Tae-sin said before tripping on a step when he didn't pay attention to where he was stepping and fell to the ground face up

"They'll finally reassess the entire ICT project" Mo-tak added seemingly calm that they'll be under supervision

"The kids... can finally drink clean water" Mun nodded, watching as they lifted Tae-sin off the ground and then walked him inside the police station

"Is Hana really okay?" Mun questioned for like the third time entering the restaurant. Everyone was just as worried as him, they hadn't seen the aforementioned since the night they rescued So-eun

"Is she hiding somewhere beating herself up for losing Baek Hyang-hui?" Ms. Chu asked in dismay "Even so, It's strange that she hasn't contacted us"

"They say some people experience teenage angst later on in life" Jangmul explained sitting on a wooden chair like everyone else except for Mun who remained standing

"Hey!" Ms. Chu almost screamed, standing up from her seat as she saw Hana safely enter the restaurant through the back door

"You guys are here" Hana exclaimed closing the metal door behind her

"Hey, what happened? We were all worried" Mo-tak questioned with obvious concern

"Where have you been? I told you not to wander alone..." Thea began to say, her words trailing off halfway as she saw her older sister's expression

"I'm sorry. How's So-eun?" Hana asked quickly changing the subject sitting on one of the wooden chairs

"Oh, she's back in the hospital, safe and sound. And those jerks got arrested. Are you okay?" Mo-tak exclaimed, still somewhat curious about where she had run to hide and disappear for at least a whole day

"Are you all right, Hana?" Mun asked to which the aforementioned nodded

"I found Shin Myeong-hwi" Hana suddenly blurted out

"Seriously?" Mun exclaimed in surprise "For real? Where is he now? I'm asking you where he is!"

"Sit down" Hana motioned him with her head

"Yes, calm down. Let's listen to what Hana has to tell us" Ms. Chu agreed and so Mun had no choice but to obey and take a seat next to the older woman

"Baek Hyang-hui and Park Ye-jun have become stronger. Even if we were to activate the barrier, it may not be enough for the three of them" Hana began to explain, joining her hands on the table

"They know what cards were holding, but we have no way of gauging what they can really do" Mo-tak explained with a frown

"Is there a way we can summon Shin when they're not around?" Ms. Chu asked with a frown

"That'd be nice, but how do we separate them from him?" Mo-tak questioned

"One good thing is that it seems like the barrier hurt Shin Myeong-hwi. That's why he's trying to recover in hiding" Hana added, continuing her explanation

"If he's trying to recover in hiding... my gosh" Ms. Chu shook her head

"More lives are being sacrificed" Hana explained what Ms. Chu had in mind but refused to say it out loud.

"I bet Cho Tae-sin has been helping him" Mo-tak nodded, his eyes suddenly filling with hatred

"Now that Cho's out of the picture, the only ones that can help him are... Baek Hyang-hui and Park Ye-jun" Mun summarized

"Why don't we wait until those crazy people step out and attack him?" Jangmul suggested

"Let's give it a shot" Mun got up from his seat "Then we can summon the spirit. The evil spirit inside Shin Myeong-hwi. If we do that, we can free my parents' souls as well as all the other souls that are locked inside him now"

"Then we must do it as soon as we can, before Shin Myeong-hwi becomes even stronger" Thea nodded determinedly

Author's note;

The fnaf movie premieres today, but there's also going to be a haunted house at school and I already promised my friend that I will go with her so I won't be able to go to the movie premiere until tomorrow, maybe 😭 anyway I'm happy that it's finally Friday!!
