EXTRA #5

One-shots, chapter ninety-four

"I will love you
'til the end of time"

It was late, nearing midnight, and the small street-side bar was alive with the sound of laughter, clinking glasses, and the faint buzz of music from inside. So Mun sat at a table with his friends SuHo, Ung-min, and Ju-yeon, the four of them crowded around a tray of soju bottles and small plates of food. They had started the night innocently enough—just a casual meet-up to hang out, catch up, and unwind after a long week. But somewhere along the way, the mood had shifted.

SuHo, with his competitive spirit, had decided to turn the night into a drinking contest with So Mun. He was confident, perhaps overly so, and So Mun, never one to back down from a challenge, took the bait. What started as friendly competition soon turned into something more intense. Shot after shot of soju was poured, and the two kept going, egged on by Ung-min and Ju-yeon, who were more amused than anything.

The table was littered with empty soju bottles, their green glass shining faintly under the bar's soft lighting. SuHo's cheeks were flushed a deep red, his usually sharp eyes now glassy, as he slurred his words in between bouts of drunken laughter. So Mun wasn't faring much better—his face was equally flushed, and his grin was lopsided as he leaned against the back of his chair, struggling to keep his balance.

"You... you think you can drink more than me, huh?" SuHo slurred, barely able to form a coherent sentence as he poured another shot with shaky hands.

So Mun giggled, his speech equally garbled. "No... no, SuHo, you're... already losing," he mumbled, blinking slowly as he lifted the glass to his lips, spilling half of it on the table.

Ju-yeon, sitting across from them, sighed dramatically and shook her head. "They're ridiculous," she muttered, glancing at Ung-min, who was snickering at the sight of his two best friends making fools of themselves.

"They'll regret this in the morning, for sure," Ung-min added, leaning back in his chair with a smirk. He wasn't as drunk, having paced himself throughout the night, but watching So Mun and SuHo practically fall apart was more than enough entertainment.

Ju-yeon rolled her eyes again as SuHo attempted to pour another shot for So Mun but missed the glass entirely. "Alright, this is getting out of hand," she said, pulling out her phone. "I'm calling Thea. There's no way these two can get home by themselves."

So Mun perked up at the mention of Thea's name, his drunken brain processing it in slow motion. "Thea? No, no... I don't need her to... to come," he muttered, but even he knew that was a lie. He was far too gone to even walk straight, let alone get home safely.

Ju-yeon ignored his protests and quickly dialed Thea's number. After a few rings, Thea's voice came through the phone, sounding slightly concerned but not surprised. "Ju-yeon? What's up?"

"It's So Mun," Ju-yeon began, glancing at her friend, who was now resting his head on the table, barely conscious. "He and SuHo got into a drinking contest, and, well, they're both completely wasted. Can you come pick him up? I don't think he'll make it home otherwise."

Thea sighed on the other end of the line, though Ju-yeon could tell she wasn't actually upset. "Of course. I'll be there in a few minutes."

After hanging up, Ju-yeon looked at So Mun, who had managed to prop himself back up in his seat. "Thea's coming to get you," she informed him.

He mumbled something incoherent, barely acknowledging the news, his head lolling to the side as he blinked lazily. SuHo, meanwhile, had fallen into a fit of giggles, apparently amused by something only he could understand.

True to her word, Thea arrived within ten minutes. She spotted the group immediately, her eyes narrowing in amusement as she took in the scene. SuHo was slumped against the table, a goofy grin plastered on his face, while So Mun sat with his head resting on his arms, barely awake.

Ju-yeon waved her over, gesturing toward So Mun. "He's all yours."

Thea chuckled, walking over to So Mun and crouching down beside him. "Hey, Mun," she said softly, brushing a strand of his hair out of his face. "Ready to go home?"

So Mun lifted his head slowly, his eyes struggling to focus on her. When he realized it was Thea, a slow, drunken smile spread across his face. "Thea..." he slurred, reaching out to touch her cheek. "You're... you're so pretty."

She couldn't help but laugh at how drunk he was, though she tried to hide her amusement. "Thanks, but you're coming with me now, okay? Time to go."

With some effort, she got him up from his seat, his arm slung over her shoulder. Thanks to her super strength, supporting him wasn't a problem—he was practically dead weight, but Thea barely felt it. So Mun stumbled over his own feet as they began to walk, his legs refusing to cooperate.

"Come on, Mun, walk with me," she coaxed gently, adjusting her grip on him.

"I'm trying," he muttered, though his steps were unsteady, and he nearly tripped again. "The ground... it's moving."

Thea bit back a laugh, nodding in agreement. "I know, it's tricky."

As they made their way down the street, Thea waved goodbye to Ju-yeon, Ung-min, and a still-drunk SuHo, who barely registered that they were leaving. The walk home was slow, with So Mun constantly stumbling and mumbling incoherent thoughts, but Thea remained patient, guiding him steadily along.

"I love you, Thea," he suddenly blurted out as they neared the Counter's hideout, his head lolling onto her shoulder. "You're the best."

She smiled warmly, her heart softening despite the ridiculous situation. "I love you too, Mun," she replied. "But let's get you inside before you pass out on the sidewalk, okay?"

Eventually, they made it to the hideout, and Thea somehow managed to get So Mun inside without too much trouble. He collapsed onto the couch, groaning dramatically as if the walk had been the most exhausting thing in the world.

Thea shook her head fondly, grabbing a bottle of water and setting it on the table for him. "Drink this before you pass out," she said, sitting beside him and brushing his hair out of his face.

So Mun opened one eye, looking up at her with a lazy grin. "You're the best, Thea. Seriously."

"I know," she teased, patting his head. "Now get some rest. You're going to feel this in the morning."

And with that, So Mun finally closed his eyes, drifting off into a deep, drunken sleep while Thea sat beside him, watching over him with a quiet smile.

Mun groaned as he woke up, feeling like his head was being squeezed in a vice. The early morning light filtered through the curtains, and his entire body ached from the aftermath of the night before. He rubbed his temples, eyes still closed, trying to piece together the events of the previous evening.

"What... happened?" he mumbled to himself, his voice thick with sleep.

Blinking his eyes open, he took in the room—their bedroom—but his focus quickly shifted when he realized something unsettling: he was shirtless. Panic crept into his chest as he slowly turned his head to the side. There, lying beside him, was Thea, completely bundled under the blankets, only her head poking out from the top.

Mun's heart raced. Did we...?

His mind reeled with confusion. He didn't remember anything. Not a single detail about how they had gotten home, let alone what might have happened after. The more he thought about it, the more horrified he became. Did I seriously forget something that important?

He shot up in bed, looking down at his bare chest and then at Thea, who seemed so peaceful. "Thea...?!" His voice came out in a panicked whisper, and he gently shook her awake.

Thea stirred, blinking groggily, a lazy smile spreading across her face as if she knew something he didn't. "Mmm, good morning," she said in a teasing tone, stretching under the covers. "How's your head?"

Mun ignored the question, too preoccupied with the bigger issue. "Thea... did we...?" he asked, his voice faltering. He gestured vaguely between them, his face a mixture of dread and embarrassment.

Thea's eyes twinkled with mischief as she looked at him, biting her lip as if trying not to laugh. "What do you think?" she asked, her voice light but laced with a teasing edge.

Mun's face drained of color. "Oh no... no, no, no..." he muttered, running his hands through his curly hair in frustration. "I don't remember anything! We... and I can't... I didn't even—" He groaned loudly, throwing himself back onto the bed, covering his face with his hands. "I didn't even get to enjoy it!"

Thea bit her lip harder to keep from bursting out laughing, but she managed to keep a straight face. "Well, you were pretty out of it last night," she said thoughtfully. "I didn't want to say anything earlier, but... you really didn't seem like yourself."

Mun groaned louder, pulling the blanket over his head. "This is the worst. The first time in who knows how long, and I just... blacked out through the whole thing? What kind of boyfriend am I?"

Thea turned her face into the pillow for a second, trying to stifle her laughter. She couldn't hold the act much longer. She peeked over at him, her voice still teasing, "Well, you weren't completely out of it. You were... very enthusiastic, let's just say that."

Mun's entire face turned red. "Oh God... enthusiastic?" His hands dropped from his face, and he stared up at the ceiling, mortified. "Thea, I can't believe this. This is so embarrassing..."

Finally, Thea couldn't take it anymore. She burst out laughing, her body shaking with mirth as she threw the blanket off herself to reveal that she was fully clothed in her pajamas.

Mun blinked, completely taken aback. "Wait... you're wearing... clothes?"

Thea grinned mischievously, sitting up. "Yup! Nothing happened, silly. I wasn't going to let you off that easy."

It took a moment for Mun to register what she said. "Wait—nothing happened?!" His voice pitched up in disbelief.

"Nope." Thea shook her head, her smile widening. "You were so drunk that I just put you to bed. I wasn't about to take advantage of you in that state, Mun." She giggled, seeing the expression of utter relief and frustration crossing his face.

Mun let out an exasperated sigh, his shoulders sinking back into the mattress. "You're evil, Thea. I swear..." He rubbed his face with his hands, groaning softly. "I really thought I missed something huge."

Thea leaned over, planting a soft kiss on his forehead. "You didn't miss anything," she said sweetly. "But maybe next time, drink a little less so we can both actually enjoy the moment."

Mun chuckled weakly, his cheeks still flushed from embarrassment. "Deal. But I'm definitely holding you to that next time."

Thea smiled, leaning her head on his shoulder. "Looking forward to it."

Thea snuggled closer to Mun, her fingers tracing lazy circles on his bare chest, her mischievous grin never fading. She looked up at him with a glint in her eyes and said softly, "You know... we could always make up for last night now. Right here, right now."

Mun's heart skipped a beat, his eyes widening as he looked down at her."Right now?" His voice cracked slightly with anticipation, all the teasing forgotten as he imagined the possibility.

Thea nodded, her fingers dancing along his skin, moving tantalizingly slow. "Mhm... unless, of course, you're not feeling up for it with that hangover." She smirked playfully, her face just inches away from his.

Mun swallowed hard, his headache momentarily forgotten as excitement took over. "Oh, I'm feeling up for it," he replied quickly, sitting up straighter and running a hand through his messy hair.

Thea let her lips hover just above his, her breath warm against his skin, and Mun closed his eyes, leaning in for the kiss.

But just as he thought she was going to close the distance, Thea abruptly pulled away, her grin widening as she slid out of bed. "But... I think I'm going to make breakfast instead," she said, her voice light and teasing as she stretched dramatically.

Mun blinked, completely thrown off as he watched her casually walk toward the door, already halfway out of bed. "Wait—what? Breakfast?"

Thea nodded, pulling on her robe. "Yup! You need a good meal after last night." She gave him a wink. "We can pick up where we left off later."

Mun groaned in frustration, his hopes dashed as he fell back against the pillows, watching her retreat toward the door. "Thea, you can't just say something like that and then go make breakfast!" He pushed himself up, eyes locked on her."That's just... cruel."

Thea laughed, her hand on the doorframe as she turned back to him. "You'll survive. Besides, you need to build up your strength first."

Mun wasn't going to let her off that easily. Not when she had gotten his hopes up. Without warning, he jumped out of bed and strode over to her, his arms snaking around her waist before she could escape. He pulled her back against his chest, whispering into her ear, "You're not going anywhere until you make good on that tease."

Thea's breath hitched as she felt his arms tighten around her, but she laughed softly, leaning her head back against his shoulder. "Oh? So now you're making the rules?"

"Mhm," Mun murmured, his lips grazing her neck. "I'm not letting you off that easy."

Thea giggled, twisting in his arms to face him, her hands resting on his chest. "You know, you're pretty bold when you're desperate." She grinned, though the teasing tone in her voice softened as she leaned in, planting a brief kiss on his lips. "But... breakfast first. Then we'll see."

Mun narrowed his eyes, half amused, half frustrated, as he let go of her. "You're really going to make me wait?"

Thea slipped out of his grasp, walking toward the kitchen with a playful sway in her step. "Yup. And it'll be worth the wait," she called over her shoulder with a wink.

Mun shook his head, a grin tugging at the corners of his mouth as he watched her disappear into the kitchen. "You're impossible," he muttered, but he couldn't help but smile as he followed her, determined not to give up so easily.

As Mun followed Thea into the kitchen, she glanced over her shoulder, her eyes landing on his bare chest. She raised an eyebrow, biting back a laugh. "Hey, before you even think about breakfast, you might want to go put a shirt on."

Mun, still feeling the thrill of their playful back-and-forth, paused. "Why? I'm perfectly comfortable like this."

Thea rolled her eyes, smirking as she crossed her arms. "Because if Ms. Chu, Hana, Jeok-bong, Jun-seo, or Mo-tak wake up and see you walking around half-naked, we'll never hear the end of it. You know they'll tease us non-stop."

Mun's face scrunched up as he imagined the inevitable comments and the relentless teasing that would follow. He sighed dramatically. "You've got a point. Mo-tak would probably have a field day with this."

"Exactly," Thea said, turning back to the stove where she was preparing breakfast. "So unless you want to be the butt of every joke for the next week, go change."

Mun hesitated, watching her work, and then let out a groan. "Fine, fine," he muttered, heading toward the bedroom. "But you owe me for making me wait this long," he called over his shoulder with a mischievous grin.

Thea laughed, shaking her head as she continued cooking. "I'll make it worth your while," she teased back.

Mun chuckled to himself as he grabbed a shirt from the bedroom, quickly pulling it over his head. As much as he enjoyed teasing Thea, he knew she was right. The last thing he needed was a round of jokes at his expense. Plus, they still had the rest of the day ahead of them—plenty of time for more playful moments.

When he returned to the kitchen, now fully dressed, Thea gave him an approving nod. "Much better."

"Happy now?" Mun asked, leaning against the counter.

"Very," Thea said with a grin, sliding a plate of food toward him. "Now, eat up. You've got a long day of making up for your teasing to look forward to."

Mun laughed, taking a seat at the table. "I'm ready when you are."

Author's note;

I appreciate you taking the time to read this chapter. As I contemplated which character to have get drunk, I deliberated between Thea and Mun. Ultimately, I chose Mun as I recalled that there was already a chapter where Thea was intoxicated. However, I am considering writing another chapter where Thea gets drunk again. What are your thoughts on this idea?

Se ya in the next chapter! ❤️
