Malachi's Castle

Aphmau's pov

I looked at the note and stared at the paper. Who would abandon their child? I looked around and walked through the library. As I walked I noticed a door. This door wasn't boarded up and I opened it. The room had children toys and there was a small bed. This is a child's bedroom but where is the child?

I looked around the dark room and I couldn't see that much so I didn't even notice the door close. "Aphmau." I heard a voice say and I saw Garroth standing in front of me. Garroth? What are you-" I was cut off by Garroth getting stabbed in front of me. "Garroth!" I screamed but then I heard laughing. "Hahahaha!" I looked around me and yelled "Who are you!?"

I then saw a giant shadow like thing and then the door slammed open. "Aphmau!" I heard a voice yell and I saw Garroth in the doorway. So many things happened and Garroth stuck the shadow with his sword and I saw a small child...he is a ghost. Garroth asked him a question and I guess the boys name is Malachi. "Why did you scare Aphmau?" Garroth growled and Malachi flinched.

"Wait Garroth, he was just scared." I said and pulled on Garroth's hand and made him pit his sword away. Malachi looked up at me shocked and I asked "You are the boy in the letter right?" Malachi nodded and I kneeled down to look in his eyes. "Why were you scaring us?" I asked and Malachi looked away. "I'm all alone. I have nobody so I scare people. I've always had this power and...nobody wanted me."

I listened closely and Malachi continued. "My parents sent me to this castle and that was before.....this." Malachi pointed to himself and started talking again. "One day I decided to scare my caretaker and well....I fell off the balcony and well...died." (sorry, I don't know if this was actually what happened but I'm just going to do it this way.) "How long have you been here?" I asked.

Malachi looked down and said "Over nine-hundred years." My eyes widened and I yelled "Nine-hundred years!?" Garroth looked shocked and Malachi nodded. "Well, don't worry, how about I take you home with Garroth and I." I said with a smile and Malachi's eyes got big. "R-really?! You will take me with you!?" Malachi started to cry and I just wanted to hug him.

"Wait Aphmau. Will this be a good idea?" Garroth asked and I nodded. "Yes. I can't just leave a child who is....older than us....be...alone." Garroth smiled and kissed me lightly on the cheek. "You're very kind Aphmau. Well, let's go because It'll be getting dark soon." Garroth said and I nodded. "Come on Malachi." I said and we walked to the front door. "Oh, I wanna look around a bit more first Garroth." I said and Garroth nodded.

"We can go back in the morning." Garroth said and I smiled. Garroth helped me pry off the boards on the door and I searched a room that looked like a work room. There was desk and a balcony that lead outside. This must be where Malachi....I opened the door and walked to the railing. When I turned I saw a ghostly. "Ah!" I jumped and the man smiled.

"Thank you....please take good care of Malachi." The man said and then disappeared.
