Reaching to Each Other

Hello! I am back with another BTS one-shot. I'm really excited for this one. It's set up in a past tense, legend type style. I got inspiration from some trees that were in my cousins backyard. Yeah, I know, weird place to find inspiration. Still, I hope that you enjoy this one-shot. Let's get into it.

Let me tell you a story. One that tells of darkness and of heroes to battle it. One that ends or does it. One that starts, a long time ago, when there was darkness in the world. Evil that spread like a plague. Wherever you would turn, it would be present. There was no escape to it. Everyone had to live like this. Bleak. Dreary. Tired. Horrible. Lives of misery. The citizens tried to bring light. Brightness. Hope. To their land. But, they failed. And they were brought into deeper darkness. The leaders promoted it. The hatred. Pain. Violence. Whenever hope was attempted to be spread, the dark enforcers would come. They would rid the joy from the people. The natural good that came in everyone. And so, this continued. The terribleness of this life. The fights and the tears. The blood and the cries of agony. No escape. From the horrors of the world. Of their lives. That they wished would just end. Because heaven was their escape. And because even hell seemed better than their current place of living.

It seemed never ending. At least it was. Until they came. Seven young men. With light in their eyes. With power at their fingertips. With hope to give. And love to spread. They became a symbol of what was good. They became the freedom fighters. They became the ones that could save them all from the darkness.

And they did. Each with an ability of their own. Each using said ability to save lives. Bring joy. Spread hope. And with that, positivity flowed into the world. The day seemed brighter. It all seemed brighter. Because of the seven. The seven men, who risked their lives. To battle the dark enforcers. Who did all they could to help those in bad situations. To show everyone that there was still a chance for something better. That no matter how dark it may seem, it could all go away when the light was turned on.

There were struggles. Times where the people lost hope. Because everyone loses battles. The seven were no exception. The people feared losing their heroes. But, the seven assured them they were fine. That they were not going anywhere. The times where things turned south is when they used it. The rumored ability. The one that made this group even more special. It is a mere legend it even existed. A mere legend that these seven existed. But, still, the seven had this power. Something stronger than their own individual abilities. Something that was used when things started going wrong. When it seemed like they may not make it. They would link hands. Holding tightly to each other. And some inner power, would emerge. It was like a bright light. A shining beacon of all that was right with the world. And it didn't die out. Their hands remained linked and the light got stronger. Until it bathed the world in light. In hope. In positivity. In love. Something that could only be generated by the seven.

It worked. The seven brought change to the world. The darkness shoved into a tiny box and locked away. There were times where it came back, but the seven handled it swiftly and easily. Peace came to the world. For the first time in a while, the people felt safe. They felt happy. They began to relax, knowing things would be alright. Thanks to the seven.

But, even if there is light, there are shadows. Where the darkness can linger. And it did. It lingered. It waited, until the perfect time. It grew in strength. Enough strength that may have given them an upper hand. Against the seven. A chance. To defeat them. To bring the darkness back.

It happened instantly. It all came back. With a snap of a finger. With a blink of an eye. The darkness covered the land. The people were in shock, but calmed rather quickly. Thinking that the seven could stop this. That the darkness would be gone as soon as it had arrived. But, it was not. The seven tried. But, it did not work. They used their power and it failed. They interlocked hands and it did nothing. Except flicker and then die. The seven were forced to retreat. Run away. Hide from the darkness.

It is said that an old man gifted the seven a book, after their first successful conquest. It was only to be opened on the darkest of days and used in the bleakest of times. The seven took the book with thankful looks. And shelved it away. Keeping it for the day where things were looking bad. And that day. Was today. When the dark came back with even more strength. Something that even the seven were no match for. When they fled, they instantly opened the book. Knowing it was their only hope. Their only chance at a brighter future.

The book spoke of sacrifice. Of a one chance to change it all. But, at a cost. A cost that all seven must agree to. One that may end in disaster. Or one that solidifies them as legends. The seven did not need to ponder it long. Knowing what they had to do. Not worried of the danger. Not bothered by their lives being at risk. Not caring about being legends. But, knowing that they had to do this. To save lives. To bring what they had always fought for.

And so, they gathered in an empty field. Hands interlocked once more. Standing in a circle, their gazes not faltering from each other. The book in the center, open to a certain page. The seven with smiles on their faces, whispering words. Together. Quickly. Smoothly. The same words. Again and again. Our time for a second chance. Our power for the greater good. Our souls for light. Our lives for love.

No one knows what happened next. But, the darkness was gone. And so were the seven. The people were overjoyed when the darkness faded. But, confused. They knew that the seven were to thank. They always were. Yet, they didn't know where the seven was. It was almost like they disappeared. Like they never existed in the first place. The people searched. For the seven. For their saviors. They did not find anything. Nothing, except for seven trees in an open field. Seven trees that look as if their branches are holding each other.

People came up with stories. Theories as to what happened to the seven. Some ended with the seven dying. Others with them going away to spend the rest of their lives in solitude. The one that most believe, the one I tell you now, is that they became the trees. The seven trees in the open field that protect the world. The ones that link hands. Branches. Some call it silly. To believe seven young men became shrubbery. Some believe it full-heartedly. That the seven became something else. Another form in order to protect them best. It is up to you what you believe. And if you were wondering, the trees, the seven trees are still there. Still protecting the light. Bringing love. Still, reaching to each other.

End! That's all I have for you today. This could honestly become a full length story, so tell me what you think about that in the comments below. Please also vote, follow me, add this story to your library, and check out my Romance One-shots. Until next time, lovelies!
