Just More

Hello! I am back with an actual ship one-shot this time. My past few have been about platonic relationships and bromances, so I think it's about time I give you an angsty and romantic ship story. And what better than one of my favorite underrated ships...Hyunsung! It's been a while since I last wrote something for this ship, so I hope that you enjoy it. I do remember actually planning out this one-shot. It's basically based on that Hyunsung moment in SKZ Code where Jisung just calls Hyunjin his wife even though they weren't in their like SZK family mode. It's hard to explain, but I think my fellow Stays and Hyunsung lovers know what I'm talking about. With that said, let us get into this story.

Then

Two figures laid side by side on a grassy hill. Their hands interlocked. Their bodies enveloped in shadow. Their faces touched by the moonlight that they stared up at. Their clothes slightly rustled with the passing wind, carrying away their whispered words.

"Make a wish..."

"I wish to find you again."

"Again?"

"In our next life...in another universe..."

"You would want to go through it all again."

"Of course. I would get to experience this beautiful love story all over again."

With those words, the two figures turned to face one another before melding together into one.

Now

Hyunjin hums under his breath as he slips the last of the toys into the chest before closing the lid. He rises out of his squat and starts to walk back towards his desk. His arms are twisted behind his back as he unties the knot of his pink and black colored apron. He calmly slips it over his head and places it over his chair. He sighs as he stretches, loosening up his stiff joints. He then bends down to open up one of the drawers, taking out a large canvas bag and placing it on the desk. He reaches inside and pulls out his phone. He taps at the screen with one hand and uses his other to smooth out his wrinkled clothes. A soft smile appears on his face as he goes through his missed messages. He hums under his breath as he begins to reply. "Hyunjin-ah!" A familiar voice calls out in a sing-song tone.

"Give me a minute, Lixie," Hyunjin says, not even bothering to look up from his device as his fingers continue to fly across his device. Felix's expression turns curious as he steps inside of the small kindergarten classroom. He slowly inches over to his old dance friend, his eyes locked on the device. Hyunjin slowly turns around so that his back is towards Felix, preventing him from seeing over his shoulder. "Come on," Felix sighs, "What are you even doing?"

"Texting," Hyunjin answers.

"Who?" Felix questions.

"None of your business," Hyunjin states as he finishes up and slips his phone into his pocket, "What's up? I didn't know you were coming."

"I wasn't planning to, but a friend of mine actually just gave me two concert tickets cause she and her boyfriend caught the flu," Felix says.

"Whose concert?" Hyunjin asks.

"3RACHA," Felix says. Hyunjin's eyes widen and his mouth drops open in shock. A smile blooms onto Felix's face and he begins to jump excitedly. "Isn't it amazing!?" Felix exclaims, "Like I feel horrible for my friend, but now we get to go to see a group that you listen to like all the time!"

"We're not going," Hyunjin mutters.

"Huh?" Felix frowns, "What are you talking about? Why would you not want to go? You love this group! Why wouldn't you want to see them live and in person!?"

"I just don't want to, Lix," Hyunjin says, "I've had a long week and I want to stay in tonight."

Felix shakes his head, "No, no way. Hwang Hyunjin wants to stay in on a Friday night. He wants to stay in rather than go to a free concert of not just some random artist but one that he listens to twenty-four seven! I don't believe it!" Hyunjin lets out a sigh and shakes his head. He grabs his bag from his desk before making his way towards the doorway. "Hey!" Felix huffs as he rushes to follow his friend. Hyunjin doesn't respond to his freckled friend as he flicks the lights off to the room and exits. Felix follows behind with narrowed eyes as he watches Hyunjin close the door and make his way down the hallway. "Hyunjin," Felix calls out as he jogs to keep up with his friend who seems to be walking faster to get away, "Hyunjin, come on! Hyunjin!" Felix reaches out and grabs onto Hyunjin's hand. He tugs him back, forcing him to face him. Hyunjin's eyes lock on the ground, avoiding Felix's curious gaze. "What is it?" Felix asks, "What's going on?"

"It's nothing," Hyunjin says as he pulls his arm away.

"That's not true," Felix states, "You wouldn't react like this to nothing..."

"I can't go to see them, Lix," Hyunjin says, "It would be too weird."

"Why would it be weird?" Felix questions, "It's not like one of them is an ex or something." Hyunjin presses his lips into a firm line and he starts to walk again. He makes his way towards the exit of the school building without saying a word. Felix's eyes widen slightly and he runs to keep up with his friend, "Is one of them actually your ex?!"

"No," Hyunjin states before pausing for a second and changing his answer, "Yes."

Felix groans, "Which is it!?" Hyunjin doesn't respond as he exits the school building with Felix hot on his tail. He makes his way over to his small car and digs through his bag for his key. "Hyunjin..." Felix huffs.

"It's complicated, Lixie," Hyunjin sighs as he finds his keys and unlocks his vehicle. He clambers inside and Felix does the same. Once they are situated inside the car, the freckled Aussie gives his friend a look, telling him to start talking. Hyunjin leans back in his seat and fidgets nervously. "Do you remember how I told you that I used to be a trainee?" Hyunjin asks.

Felix nods, "Yeah...are you telling me that you trained with 3RACHA?" Hyunjin doesn't answer his question, but his silence is more than enough for a confirmation. Felix completely shifts around to face his friend with wide eyes and a gaping mouth. "You know all of 3RACHA!" Felix shouts, "You dated someone from 3RACHA!"

"Yes, I do and yes, I did. Can you please stop yelling?" Hyunjin says with pink tinged cheeks.

"Sorry," Felix murmurs, "That is so cool though!"

"Yeah, I guess," Hyunjin says.

"Was it not cool?" Felix asks tentatively, "Were they assholes or something? Are they why you left?"

Hyunjin shakes his head, "No, they're amazing. I left cause the company cut me from the debut lineup. I'm not bitter about it or anything. I wasn't made to be an idol. The three of them though are so freaking talented. They deserve every ounce of praise and attention they've been getting. They were impressive back then...and now...they're in a whole other league."

"If that's the case, don't you think it would be nice to see them again?" Felix questions, "Don't you think they would like to see you?"

"Chan hyung and Bin hyung would," Hyunjin muses, "But I can't say the same for Sungie..."

"Is that the ex?" Felix inquires.

Hyunjin nods, "Han Jisung. He...we actually used to fight all the time as trainees. That somehow changed and became affection. We started dating a few months before I was cut and then we decided to go our separate ways. It wasn't a bad breakup. We just knew that he would be busy and that if anyone found out it would mess things up for the group, so we made the decision ourselves. It was for the best even if it hurt to do it."

"Jinnie," Felix says with a pout, "Have you...have you talked to him since?"

"I didn't for a while," Hyunjin admits, "But, these past few months he reached out again and we've been texting."

"Is he the one you were texting when I walked in?" Felix asks with knowing eyes. Hyunjin flushes pink and slowly nods. Felix squeals at that and reaches for his friend's hand. He squeezes it with a big smile on his face, "That is just too cute!"

"Stop it, Lix," Hyunjin sighs, "It doesn't mean anything. We're just texting as friends. I'm still in contact with the other members of 3RACHA too."

"That may be true, but it's Han Jisung you were texting with a smile on your face and it's Han Jisung that makes you blush just by talking about him," Felix rambles excitedly, "You still like him, don't you?"

"It doesn't matter how I feel about him," Hyunjin says, "He...he doesn't feel the same."

"I think he might," Felix says with a knowing look, "I mean...he did reach out to you after a long time and the fact that he is still talking to you means that he does care."

"Yeah, cause we're friends and former trainee buddies," Hyunjin says, "He was probably doing some content where he revisited the old practice rooms and stuff and got nostalgic."

"Or he's been thinking about you for a while and wants to start something again," Felix exclaims, "Come on, Hyunjin! Give yourself some more credit!"

"This is ridiculous, Felix," Hyunjin shakes his head.

"No, it's not!" Felix cries, "It's fate! Don't you see! I got tickets to see the group your crush is in! We can go there tonight and you can talk to him. You can tell him about your feelings and you can rekindle the relationship you had!"

"I can't do that," Hyunjin says

"Why not?" Felix asks.

"Cause it's insane," Hyunjin states, 'It's not possible!"

"Of course, it is!" Felix exclaims.

"I can't just...I...he," Hyunjin stumbles over his words before letting out a loud groan and burying his face into his hands. He doesn't speak for a moment, Felix looking at him with an even expression on his face. "What if he doesn't feel the same?" Hyunjin asks in a quiet tone.

"Jinnie...I get it," Felix says, "It's scary not knowing how he feels, but it's worse never knowing. This is your chance to find out. This is your second shot at being with him. Can you really just let that go? Things didn't work out the first time, but they can this time. You will never know unless you go to the concert tonight." Hyunjin doesn't answer. His face is still completely hidden from view. Felix watches him with a calm and patient expression. After a couple more minutes pass, Hyunjin slowly lifts his head and lets out a shaky breath. "What time is the concert?" He asks.

———————

"Don't tell him," Changbin huffs as he trails after Chan into their shared dressing room.

"He should know," Chan says.

"It's better if he didn't," Changbin states.

"Are you talking about me?" Jisung asks from where he is sprawled out on the couch with his phone in his hands, "Is something going on?" He turns around so that he is facing upright. He flashes the two a curious expression. Chan sighs, "First things first, we need to be on stage in like ten minutes." With those words, Jisung is on his feet. He puts his phone down on the coffee table before bustling towards the door. Chan and Changbin slip out of the dressing room as well. The three walks in a straight line towards the underside of the stage. Their staff float about as they see them passing by, wishing them luck on the show or making final checks on their makeup. "So...what else do you have to tell me?" Jisung questions.

"I don't want to tell you anything," Changbin shakes his head, "It'll just distract you from your performance."

"Please!" Jisung exclaims, "I'm a professional."

"Sure," Changin rolls his eyes.

"Chan hyung!" Jisung whines, looking at the oldest of the trio, "Tell me!" The three duck their heads as they come to the bottom of the stage. They keep low as they walk along the pathway that turns and twists until they come to the center of the stage where a mechanical lift is waiting for them. Their staff are crouched there waiting for them. They hand each of them their mics and help them fix their in-ear headpieces. "Hyunjin is coming to tonight's show," Chan states. Jisung immediately bursts into a fit of giggles. Changbin and Chan both stare at him as if he has three heads. When Jisung meets their eyes, his laughter slowly dies down and his eyes widen. "You're not kidding," Jisung states.

"Nope," Chan says, "He texted me an hour ago."

"He...he's going to be here..." Jisung murmurs, "He's...he's already probably here now..." He continues to talk to himself in a hushed tone. His hand opening and closing around his mic with anxiety. "I told you not to tell him," Changbin sings.

"It would be worse if he spots him in the audience," Chan says before turning to look at Jisung, "Don't try to look for him, okay?"

"You expect me not to?" Jisung asks, "I haven't seen Jinnie in years!"

"We know," Changbin deadpans.

"You'll get to see him," Chan says, "I already invited him backstage after the show."

"Really?" Jisung squeaks.

Chan nods, "So try to keep it together until then, Sung. There's going to be a lot of people out there and it'll be a mess if they see you gazing longingly at Hyunjin."

"You make it seem like I'm a lovesick idiot," Jisung huffs.

"You're drooling just thinking about him," Changbin jests with a smirk.

"And you've already planned out exactly what to say to him," Chan says simply.

"Guys!" Jisung scowls, "I told you earlier...I'm a professional!" Chan and Changbin burst into a fit of laughter. They are cut off by the sound of the PA system announcing some general rules followed by the dimming of the lights and loud cheers. The staff are quick to gesture for them to step onto the lift. They quickly do, bending down and bringing their hands together in a quick cheer. "Okay, we will be going in five!" Someone calls out, "Four! Three! Two! One! Go!" The members of 3RACHA are slowly lifted upwards. They remain still as the crowd starts to scream in excitement. Once they are on the stage, they slowly step away from the platform and to their positions on stage. Jisung forces his head to remain tilted down, so he doesn't dare to peek at the audience. His heart races inside of his chest and anticipation sends tingling sparks down his body. As much as he loves performing, he wants the show to go by as fast as possible. He can deny it to his friends, but he can't lie to himself. He wants to see Hyunjin again. More than anything.

A soft smile appears on his face as the backtrack of their first song starts to play. The shouts from the fans blend with it and Jisung brings his mic up. The lights on stage kick on instantly and Jisung's head snaps up as well. And as soon as it does, his eyes lock immediately on black haired man with sunglasses pushing back his hair. An oversized white button down is draped over his frame and his pink lips are curled slightly upward. His eyes shine brightly with flecks of what Jisung can only describe as stardust in them. Jisung knows that he should look away, but he can't bring himself to do it. He can hear Changbin spitting out his verse with ease and he knows that his part is coming up next. He doesn't know if he'll be able to even utter a single word. His entire being focused solely on Hyunjin. Just then, someone throws their arm around Jisung's shoulder in an attempt to startle him from his stupor. And while it does work for a moment, Jisung finds his gaze drifting in his direction. "What did I say?" Chan questions in a harsh whisper.

"I didn't look for him," Jisung responds, "I just...he just appeared."

Chan sighs, "You know that your part is coming up soon, right?"

"Yeah..." Jisung murmurs.

"Are you going to be able to do it?" Chan asks, "Or are you going to keep staring at him?" Jisung doesn't know how to answer. His lips pressing into a firm line as he switches his mic from one hand to the other. As his verse comes to the end, Changbin rushes over to his side and nudges his side. He flashes him an expectant look as he continues to rap. Jisung's eyes still wander towards the audience, but thanks to Chan and Changbin, no one seems to think that he is looking at anyone specific. The members of 3RACHA flash wide smiles towards their fans and wave. For just a second, their eyes land on Hyunjin. Changbin and Chan both silently beg their old friend to get Jisung to focus. A small laugh seems to bubble from Hyunjin's lips as he watches them. It sends shivers down Jisung's spine. "Finish making your goo goo eyes at each other," Chan hisses, "And then sing your verse."

Jisung stiffly nods his head as his eyes immediately lock with Hyunjin. His lips curl into an even wider smile as his heart sings deep in his chest. He can tell that his ex feels the same way as his cheeks flush pink. Jisung raises his hand up and waves, a gesture that is easily hidden as all the fans believe is directed at them. Hyunjin understands though that it is solely for him. He nods and mouths words that Jisung can easily detect, "Shine for me, Han Jisung." With that, Jisung brings his mic up and begins his verse with his heart in every word.

———————

Jisung paces back and forth in the dressing room. He is wearing a black sweatshirt and a tan beanie tucked over his head. Just then, the door opens and Jisung immediately looks up. Chan and Changbin walk in, chatting about some movie that they want to watch. Jisung huffs loudly before tearing his gaze away and pacing again. "Sit down, Jisung," Changbin says, "He'll be here in a few minutes."

"You said that a few minutes ago," Jisung frowns.

"He's right, Sungie," Chan says as he walks over to him. He grabs onto his shoulders and guides him around towards the couch. He forces him down before taking a seat beside him. "You just put on a show and I know for a fact that you haven't even taken a sip of water," Chan says, reaching over to grab a bottle of water from the floor, "You can't see Hyunjin if you pass out before he even gets backstage." Jisung sighs as he takes the water bottle from Chan's hand. He uncaps it and begins to chug it. As the liquid hits his throat, he begins to realize how much he needed it. He's been so focused on Hyunjin that he completely forgot to take care of himself. After finishing pretty much the entire bottle, he pulls it away and caps it again. He places it on the coffee table in front of him. "Thanks, hyung," Jisung murmurs.

Chan smiles, "You're welcome." Jisung starts to open his mouth to say something, but is cut off by the sound of loud knocking. The door is cracked open and one of their managers sticks their head through the doorway. "Hwang Hyunjin and his friend are here," He says before stepping to the side to reveal two young men. Jisung's eyes widen as he stares at his ex walks into his dressing room. He thought that he was stunning before, but seeing him this close is something else entirely. Jisung's entire body freezes. His heart sings in his chest and he can feel his voice get stuck in his throat. The entire world seems to move in slow motion as a warm smile blooms on Hyunjin's face. "Hi guys, long time no see," He says in his melodic and soft tone that sends chills down Jisung's body.

"Jinnie," Changbin says as he makes his way over. He is quick to envelop him into a tight hug. Hyunjin returns it without even a second thought. "How have you been, Bin hyung?" Hyunjin asks.

"Good," Changbin says, "I've missed having you around."

"Really?" Hyunjin questions.

"Of course," Changbin says, "You better come see us more often. It's been too long."

"I'll try my best," Hyunjin grins as they separate from the hug. His eyes immediately land on Chan, who stretches his arms outward, waiting for a hug. "There's my second favorite Aussie," Hyunjin says as he walks towards the oldest 3RACHA member. Chan brings him close for a quick hug before pulling away, grasping onto Hyunjin's forearms. He scans him up and down in a protective manner before nodding his head. "What do you mean second favorite?" Chan asks as he ruffles Hyunjin's hair.

"Sorry, hyung, but Lixie took your top spot," Hyunjin says as he swats the older's hand away and begins to comb through his hair. He gestures towards his freckled friend, who blushes as Chan and Changbin both look at him. Felix waves and smiles at the two. "Hi, it's nice to meet you," He says, "I'm Felix."

"You're from Australia?" Chan asks in a hopeful tone. Felix nods. Chan grins as he immediately moves to stand in front of him. "You and I have a lot to talk about," Chan states with wide eyes.

"Oh, yeah!" Felix exclaims, catching on right away, "Do you want to step out for a bit?"

"Sure!" Chan says as he grabs onto Changbin's arm, "Come with us, Bin-ah." He drags the muscular rapper towards the door much to his chagrin. Hyunjin watches them with an amused expression as they try to slip out 'discreetly'. They exit one after the other with Felix leaving last and flashing him a knowing look. Hyunjin nods his head in understanding as his freckled friend disappears from view. He watches and waits until the door has completely shut before turning around to face Jisung. The quokka looking young man still has a dazed expression on his face. His eyes are filled with fondness that makes Hyunjin's heart warm. "Aren't you going to say hi to me?" Hyunjin asks.

"Hi," Jisung breathes. Hyunjin giggles as he walks over and takes a seat beside his ex-boyfriend. "Your...I...just...wow..." Jisung stutters a bunch of random words. Hyunjin bursts into another fit of laughter that makes Jisung's cheeks flush pink. "It's good to see you again too, Sungie," Hyunjin says.

"I can't believe you're actually here," Jisung murmurs.

"I wouldn't have been if it weren't for Felix," Hyunjin admits, "But, I'm glad I am."

"Me too," Jisung says, "Texting you is great and all, but I've missed talking to you face to face."

"Same," Hyunjin states. The two easily fall into a steady conversation. They pick up where they left off in their texts to one another before reminiscing about the past. Their conversation drifts around, but never becomes dull. They speak about the important things. And the nonsensical ones. Wide smiles bloom on their faces and laughter fills the air.

Without even meaning to, their bodies gravitate closer together. They completely face one another, their legs becoming slightly tangled together. Hyunjin leans slightly against the couch, propping himself up with his elbow. Jisung speaks avidly with his hands moving as he describes a funny moment during their tour. His eyes flick to the side to see Hyunjin's reaction every once and a while. As he tells the best part of the story, Hyunjin bursts into laughter. His head is thrown back and he covers his mouth as he giggles. He tilts over leaning against Jisung's shoulder as he laughs so hard that he forgets to breathe. Jisung's heart thumps loudly at the action. He glances down at Hyunjin, whose hair becomes messy as it presses against Jisung's side. Hyunjin's eyes flick up and immediately lock with Jisung.

Both young men still. Neither say a word as they look at one another with wide eyes. The room becomes entirely silent except for the soft hum of the air conditioning. They remain like this for a long time before Jisung clears his throat and the two separate. Hyunjin sits up and repositions himself. He tries to slide away, but Jisung stops him with a soft hand on top of his own. Hyunjin stills and looks up at Jisung who smiles at him. Jisung slowly shifts around so that his legs are crossed in front of him and he is fully facing Hyunjin. The other is quick to copy the position. "When I...when I saw you in the audience today, I lost my mind a bit," Jisung murmurs, "All I could focus on was you..."

"Sungie..." Hyunjin breathes.

"You were just so beautiful," Jisung says, "There was so much happening, but my eyes could only find you. It's crazy...isn't it?"

"No," Hyunjin says as he begins to link their fingers together, "It isn't." Jisung glances down at their hands. He can feel his face start to warm and his entire body buzzes with thrill. "Jisung...I actually came here to talk to you about something," Hyunjin says.

"What is it?" Jisung asks.

"I know that we broke up, but it was never cause we stopped loving each other," Hyunjin says in a slow tone, "And texting you all this time has sort of reminded me of that fact."

"What are you trying to say?" Jisung questions.

"I like you, Jisung-ah," Hyunjin states, "I like you a lot and I...I was hoping that we could try things again."

"I...I would love that," Jisung murmurs, "But..."

"But?" Hyunjin echoes.

"We can't," Jisung says, avoiding his eyes.

"Why?" Hyunjin asks in a stiff tone.

"I...I don't think it'll be worth it," Jisung states, "I'm a performer. I have fans and the company has rules. If they find out..." He trails off after that. His heart twists inside his chest, protesting against his every word. He does his best to keep his face neutral even as his emotions reach a boiling point inside of him. He slowly pulls his hand away from Hyunjin. The cool air-conditioned air burning his skin. He can feel Hyunjin's eyes land on him and he can only imagine the expression written on his face. It makes his chest ache. "I get it," Hyunjin whispers. Jisung's head lifts up, looking right into his ex's eyes. There are no tears in them. They shine purely with understanding and care. It makes Jisung's entire body feel heavy. "Hyunjin..." Jisung breathes, "I'm sorry..."

Hyunjin smiles, "Don't be..."

———————

Felix watches Hyunjin with a wary expression on his face. After leaving the concert venue, the ride back to their home was unnaturally quiet. Hyunjin's face remained even and didn't give even a hint of what happened between him and Jisung. Felix had a feeling that it didn't go well though, especially as they enter their shared apartment and Hyunjin makes a beeline for the kitchen. He emerges seconds later with a tin of freshly baked brownies tucked in his arm. Tears trickle down his cheeks, but he doesn't even make a single sound as he cries. "Hyunjin," Felix says with a concerned expression. He rushes up to his friend and begins to wipe away his tears. He then reaches for the tin and gently pulls it away, setting it onto the counter top. Hyunjin's lips quiver and his arms fall slack to his sides. "It's okay," Felix murmurs as he wraps his friend into a tight hug, "It's okay..." Hyunjin shakes his head, not uttering a single word. Felix runs his hand up and down his back, slowly lowering them to the ground. They stay like this for a bit. Hyunjin crying silently and Felix holding him tight. Surprisingly, it's Hyunjin who pulls away first. He takes in a shaky breath as he leans against the cabinet. "I never should have gone to the concert," Hyunjin murmurs.

"Was it bad?" Felix asks.

"It wasn't good," Hyunjin says.

"Did he...reject you?" Felix questions.

Hyunjin nods before letting out a dry laugh, "It wasn't even cause he didn't like me still."

"Then why...oh..." Felix murmurs, figuring out the reason why himself.

"Yeah..." Hyunjin says in a dejected tone. The room falls silent for a moment

"Well, you just need to try again," Felix states, "Tell him that you don't care about those things."

"Are you crazy, Lix?" Hyunjin questions, "I can't confess again just to get denied. I...I don't think I'll manage."

"I'm sure that if you just try to talk to him-" Felix starts

"I don't want to, Felix!" Hyunjin snaps. Felix's eyes widen in surprise at his sudden outburst. At the sight of his friend's stunned expression, Hyunjin is quick to lower his head and try to calm himself down. "This is my decision to make," Hyunjin breathes, "Not yours."

"I know that, Jinnie, and I don't want to push you..." Felix says, "But, I really think that if you just tried one more time that things could work out."

Hyunjin shakes his head, "Why do you care so much?"

"I'm your friend," Felix states.

"So, you should be pushing me to move on or something. Tell me to meet other guys! That sort of thing," Hyunjin says, "Why are you so set on me trying to work things out with Jisung?"

"I'm not," Felix murmurs. Hyunjin flashes him a deadpan expression. Felix huffs as he leans back. He bites his lip, trying to decide what to say. Hyunjin eyes him with an expectant look. "I just know that the two of you would be a really nice couple," Felix states.

"And how would you know that? You just met Jisung a couple of hours ago," Hyunjin retorts.

Felix sighs, "Cause I saw it..."

"What?" Hyunjin questions.

"You know how my grandma helps people by peering into their past lives...well I have that ability too," Felix explains.

"Something like that isn't possible," Hyunjin frowns.

"Would I really make something like that up?" Felix questions. Hyunjin opens his mouth before closing it a second later. He nods his head and lets out a breath. "You saw my past life?" Hyunjin asks, "And Jisung's too?"

"I saw both of your lives. Your life together," Felix says, "You were a happy and loving couple. Everyday was filled with smiles and laughter. You complemented each other so well. It was a heartwarming sight. I can't help but want something that beautiful to happen again in this life too."

"Just cause it happened then, doesn't mean that it can or is supposed to happen now," Hyunjin murmurs, "Maybe in this life, we're just not meant to be..."

"No way! There's no way you would've met up like this if you weren't supposed to be together!" Felix exclaims, "The chances of us ever meeting the people we shared a life with in the past again is slim. The fact that you have means something, Hyunjin!"

"Or it's just a random coincidence that means nothing," Hyunjin says dryly as he pushes himself to his feet. He rubs at his eyes before grabbing the container of brownies and putting them away. Felix watches him with an upset expression on his face. "I appreciate you trying, Lix," Hyunjin states, "But, even knowing this, I don't think this is going to work." He then turns and walks out of the kitchen and towards his bedroom. Felix quickly scrambles to his feet and rushes after his friend. "Hyunjin, wait!" He calls.

Hyunjin turns around and asks in a whispered voice, "What?"

"You're right," Felix states, "This life isn't just a repeat of your past one. That's not the way these things work, but I still think that you should talk to Jisung again. I'm not saying to have the exact same relationship as last time. I'm saying to make a love story of your own in this life. One that fits for you." Hyunjin blinks a couple of times. His lips pressing into a firm line as he considers those words. "I want to, but I can't," Hyunjin murmurs, "It's not enough for us to just like one another. Not with the lives we're living in this lifetime. Not when Jisung isn't willing to try too." With those words, he turns back around and slips into his room.

———————

"Come in," Jisung calls as someone knocks on his hotel room door. He can hear whoever it is enter and shuffle their way inside. He rolls over from his position on the bed before sitting up to greet his guest. "What's up?" Jisung asks, his words trailing off when he sees who stands before him. Chan and Felix stare at him with disappointment on their faces. "Hey...Felix? Right?" Jisung says in an awkwardly tone, "What are you going here? Is..."

"Hyunjin isn't here," Felix states, "Why would he be when you turned him down?" Jisung opens his mouth to speak before closing it less than a second later. He looks down in shame. "I'm not here to yell at you," Felix says simply, "Even if I should as Hyunjin's best friend."

"Oh..." Jisung murmurs quietly.

"He's going to try and talk some sense into you," Chan sighs, "I'll leave you to it." The 3RACHA leader slips out of the hotel room without another word. Felix and Jisung look at one another awkwardly. The room quickly falling silent. Jisung shifts around in his bed before quietly asking, "Did Hyunjin tell you everything?" Felix nods as he goes to take a seat at the small armchair in the corner of the room. "He was upset, wasn't he?" Jisung questions, "He was hiding it in front of me, but I could tell that I broke his heart."

Felix shakes his head, "You didn't break anything. Hyunjin knows why you turned him down. He understands why. And that upset him...that's what broke him."

"I still feel like it's my fault," Jisung scoffs. Felix remains silent. Jisung then glanced over at him to which the freckled Aussie shrugs. "I'm not going to deny it," Felix states, "It didn't help that you didn't even try."

"Try what?" Jisung asks.

"What else?" Felix retorts before speaking in a serious tone, "You didn't even try to make things work. I get why you split the first time. You were young and at an unstable point in your career. You did what others before you had done. You did what you were told would be best. But now? Now you have more power than you think. And yet you still backed down."

"I..." Jisung stutters, "There's just...what if...there's...there's so much that could go wrong."

"And so much that could go perfectly right," Felixy states.

"More often than not, in my field of work, it's the former," Jisung grits his teeth.

"Well, then are you just going to give up on Hyunjin entirely?" Felix asks in a harsh manner, "Is that what you want?"

"Of course not! I don't want this! I just have no other choice!" Jisung huffs.

"You always have a choice!" Felix exclaims, "You are just to scared to face the consequences of that choice."

"Wouldn't you be?" Jisung hisses with an annoyed expression, "I've worked so hard...Changbin hyung and Chan hyung worked so hard. Our staff have dedicated hours upon hours to push us to where we are today! I can't be selfish and just rip that away by taking this risk. And what if people find out! What's going to happen then? Hyunjin could be in danger! People will attack him endlessly! The fans will riot! The company will pull dirty tricks. And that! That will truly break him!"

"And what if none of that happens?" Felix asks.

"What?" Jisung echoes.

"You are focusing solely on the worst-case scenarios," Felix states, "The what ifs that end in disaster, but what about the ones with the happy ending? What if you go and you start a relationship with Hyunjin? What if you spend the best moments of your life with him? What if you tell the world about your relationship and they support you? What if you can have it all and so much more?!"

"That's a pipe dream," Jisung shakes his head, "I can't just let what ifs and possibilities determine my actions."

"You can't?" Felix asks with a raised eyebrow. Jisung falls quiet as he begins to realize his words. His eyes widen and he slouches into the pillow on his bed. His chest aches as his mind immediately wanders to Hyunjin. He's been such an idiot. He looks over to Felix, who looks at him with an expectant expression. Jisung takes a deep breath and nods his head. He's going to fix this. He has to.

Hyunjin hums under his breath as he sips from his mug steaming of warm coffee. He is dressed in his pajamas, having just woken up. His roommate had left the apartment not too long ago to run some errands. Hyunjin stayed behind to enact his goal of lounging around and watching movies all weekend long. He starts to make his way towards the couch when the doorbell rings. Hyunjin frowns before slowly making his way towards the front door. He calmly unlocks it before pulling it open with a wide flourish. "Did you forget something..." Hyunjin starts before trailing off when he recognizes that it isn't his roommate but actually his ex, "What are you doing here?"

"I need to talk to you," Jisung states. He is wearing a big leather jacket and a matching black mask. His hair flops over his forehead and he bounces on his heels with nervous energy. "I have to get to work," Hyunjin says stiffly, trying to keep his eyes locked on his ex's own.

"It's the weekend," Jisung deadpans.

Hyunjin coughs and straightens his back, "You have to get to work."

"Soundcheck is hours away from now," Jisung says, "Can't get rid of me that easily." Hyunjin purses his lips together as his ex flashes him a breadwinning grin. He sighs before stepping to the side and gesturing inside. "Come in," Hyunjin says. Jisung doesn't hesitate to quickly enter the apartment. He slips his shoes off as Hyunjin closes the door and locks back up. "Do you want anything to drink?" Hyunjin asks.

"I'm okay," Jisung murmurs. Hyunjin nods as he makes his way back towards the living room. Jisung slowly follows behind him with a nervous expression on his face. Hyunjin doesn't seem to notice though as he plops onto the couch and leans into the cushions. Jisung hovers, unsure of whether or not to sit down. "What did you want to talk about?" Hyunjin questions as he pats the couch.

"Us," Jisung replies as he lowers to sit beside him.

"There isn't an us," Hyunjin states, "Hasn't been for years..."

"I want that to change," Jisung says.

"Why?" Hyunjin questions.

"Cause I realized that I was letting my fears control me," Jisung explains, "I was so worried about everything that could go wrong that I didn't even think about any of the things that could go right."

"Jisung..." Hyunjin breathes.

"I don't know what's going to happen if we try again, but I just I don't care anymore," Jisung exclaims, "I love you, Hyunjin. And I want to be with you." Hyunjin doesn't speak. He just stares right at Jisung with slightly parted lips. His fingers twitching at his side. "I know I have no right to ask you to accept me," Jisung says, "Especially after I told you no, but I..."

"Yes," Hyunjin blurts out.

"W-what?" Jisung stutters.

"Yes, let's try again," Hyunjin repeats.

"Are you sure?" Jisung asks with an empathetic expression.

"I'm not sure about anything honestly," Hyunjin laughs, "Except that I really like you and that I want to try." His cheeks flush a light pink and his eyes shine with affection. His lips curl into a soft smile that makes Jisung's heart skip a beat. He leans slightly towards the rapper as if to invite him to come closer. Jisung's heart races in his chest and he lets his eyes take in Hyunjin. His entire body warms as he finds himself in awe over the man. Jisung's body moves without even thinking. He pounces on him, pushing him flat against the couch. Hyunjin lets out a gasp as Jisung looms over him with a smirk on his face. His hand cups his neck, the other settling on his hip. Hyunjin's own hand reaches up to touch Jisung's cheek. The rapper leans into the touch, humming softly under his breath. Hyunjin lets out a giggle, an action that makes Jisung fall in love all over again. He doesn't hesitate to close the distance between them, but before he can even press their lips against one another, he is stopped by four words. "Give me a second," Hyunjin says, pulling away and reaching into his pocket. He takes out his phone and begins to tap on the screen. Jisung's brow furrows as he looks at his boyfriend with confusion. "What are you doing?" Jisung asks.

"Texting Felix," Hyunjin answers.

"Come on, baby!" Jisung whines.

"Hey, if it weren't for Felix, we wouldn't be here right now," Hyunjin says, his eyes on the screen.

"Should I kiss him instead?" Jisung deadpans.

Hyunjin swats at his arm, "Stop being so impatient."

"Stop texting and kiss me already!" Jisung exclaims.

"Okay, okay..." Hyunjin says as he finishes his message and hits send. The second he puts his phone down, he is met instantly with lips against his.
