All Those Times My Heart Burst From My Chest

Hi! I have a one-shot based off of one of my all time favorite TV shows Boy Meets World! It's an oldie but a goodie. Anyway, long story short, I stumbled across the Pod Meets World podcast and it has reignited my love for the show. I am doing my first ever rewatch as I listen along to the podcast episodes, so this show has been on my mind for a while now and I just need to write something for this fandom. I have never written something Boy Meets World themed before, except maybe a Minjoon one-shot that was inspired by one of the episodes, but beyond that nothing. This one is going to be a ship one-shot, but if you know me, it will come as no surprise at all that this isn't a canon ship. I am a sucker for underrated and non-canon ships. You will never guess what the ship is cause it is so random but for some reason I am so interested in exploring it. The ship in question being Eric x Shawn. It's so random and I was never a shipper of these two, but I stumbled across other fics for this ship and just fell in love. Eric and Shawn have to be my favorite characters from the show, so it makes sense that I would be interested in this super underrated ship. This one is also a special one cause it is my first ever attempt at a 5+1 fic. Can you believe it? All these years of writing fanfic and I have never done one formatted like this. I've been wanting to give it a shot for a while and this ship feels like the perfect one to do it for. This is five times that Eric made Shawn's heart burst from his chest and one time Shawn made Eric's. With that said, I won't make this author's note any longer than it already is and get into the one-shot!

P.S. Continuity for this show is a hot mess, so for the sake of my sanity and this story, Eric is two years older than Cory, Shawn and Topanga

"Okay, boys, it's getting late," Amy says as she enters the living room. Cory and Shawn are sprawled out on the couch. Their eyes are locked on a bad movie flashing on the TV screen and a half eaten bowl of popcorn is propped between them. "Come on, mom," Cory exclaims, "It's Friday."

"It is, but it's getting dark out and Shawn needs to get home," Amy says in her sing-song mom tone.

"He can stay over," Cory reasons.

"Did he ask his parents?" Amy questions.

"He can," Cory responds with a cheeky grin.

"I'll give them a call after the movie finishes," Shawn murmurs, his eyes locked on the screen.

"Give them a call now," Amy says, reaching for the remote and pausing the movie, "They're probably worried." The boys both groan loudly. They share a quick glance before Shawn lets out a sigh and gets up. He purposefully heads towards the kitchen, hoping to get some privacy while he makes the call. He presses the digits of his home phone number as slowly as possible before stiffly bringing his phone to his ear. The phone rings and rings and rings. Shawn crosses his arms over his chest, his lips curling into a frown. He wasn't expecting his parents to answer. They probably were yelling so loudly that they couldn't even hear the phone ring. It didn't change the heavy weight that started pressing in his stomach as soon as he thought about home. His parents had always had their issues, but recently things have been getting worse and worse every day. They never stopped arguing. Their loud voices echoing throughout the trailer park and settling deep within Shawn's bones. He hated it. He wanted nothing more than for it to stop. Not that he would ever voice his feelings to his parents and risk getting dragged into the fight. Whenever that happened, the heavy pit in his stomach would become a black hole that would pull at Shawn endlessly.

That's why he savors the moments that he isn't home. School, a once hated place, has become a short term safe haven. And so what if he has frequented the Matthews' house more often than normal. It's not like anyone has noticed that he has done everything he can to make his stay last longer and longer every time he visits.

Shawn just needs some space. It's completely reasonable.

"What did they say?" Cory chirps, stirring Shawn from his thoughts. He leans against the doorway leading into the kitchen, his mom standing by his side with her hands on his shoulders. Shawn flashes his best friend a grin and nods, "They said I could stay." Cory lets out a cheer and rushes to Shawn's side. He tugs at his arm to bring him back towards the living room so they could finish the movie. Before they can though, Amy stops them, "Are your parents still on the phone, Shawn?"

"Uh, no, they hung up," Shawn says stiffly.

"Let me just call them back then," Amy says.

"You don't need to do that," Shawn blurts out, "They're okay with me being here. Really." Amy ignores him and holds her hand out for the phone. Shawn tightens his grip on the device and lets out a breath. "They didn't pick up," Shawn murmurs.

Amy sighs, "I'm sorry, Shawn, but I can't let you stay over when your parents don't know."

"Mrs. Matthews..." Shawn pleads.

Amy shakes her head, "You should head home before it gets any darker." Shawn feels his heart drop in his chest. He doesn't want to go home yet. It's still too soon. If he can just have another hour or two, maybe his mom will storm out of the house like last time or their next door neighbor will stop them by banging on the door and yelling at them for being so loud. He can't go home now. Not when they're still fighting. "Can we at least finish the movie first, mom?" Cory asks, "We only have like half an hour left."

"I don't think that's a good idea, Cor. I don't want Shawn walking out by himself so late at night," Amy says, "Why don't you just save it for next time?" Cory lets out a groan and Shawn clenches his hands into tight fists. He tries his best to keep his face neutral, but his racing heart is making it difficult. "I can drive him back home," A familiar voice announces from the stairs. Shawn immediately turns to look in that direction of the voice. His eyes land on Eric, Cory's older brother, as he walks down the remaining steps and nonchalantly opens the fridge to grab a drink. "Are you sure, Eric?" Amy questions.

"Yeah, I don't mind," Eric says as he pops open a soda can and leans nonchalantly against the island, "Go finish your movie and then we'll go."

"Thanks, Eric!" Cory exclaims.

"Yeah...thanks," Shawn mutters as Cory drags him away. Shawn doesn't know what to feel about Eric's offer to drive him home. He's shocked that the older would even volunteer, not that he has a bad relationship with the teen but he is still just the best friend to Eric's annoying little brother. The shock is nothing though compared to the mounting fear bubbling inside of Shawn. Since Eric is driving him back, he'll arrive home even earlier. It didn't matter that he would be wasting some time finishing the movie. He could've prolonged his trip even more if he had walked alone, but since he'll be in a car, he will be back home in less than fifteen minutes.

Shawn bites his lower lip as he sits back down on the couch. He already knows that he won't be able to focus at all on the rest of the movie.

And just as expected, Shawn can barely remember a single scene from the ending of the film. He barely remembers even leaving the Matthews house. His mind spins with worries as he robotically climbs into Eric's car. The pounding of his heart fills the complete silence in the vehicle as Eric begins to drive. He shifts and twitches every couple of seconds with nervous energy as they pass by the streets leading up to the trailer park. His chest clenches at every familiar turn the car makes and each pothole that they run over. He knows it's coming and yet it still feels as if he's suffocating as they get closer and closer. He tenses as they begin to near his home, preparing himself for the wave of anxiety. That is until Eric drives right past the turn leading to the trailer park and continues down an unfamiliar street. Shawn blinks a couple of times in surprise. He turns his head to look behind him to make sure he didn't imagine Eric just driving past his home. "You missed the exit," Shawn says.

"Oh, did I?" Eric exclaims, turning the steering wheel, "Silly me...let me make a U-turn..."

After another thirty minutes of circling around the same area, Eric finally makes the right exit and pulls into the trailer park. It is completely dark out. The lights are off in most of the trailers and not a single voice can be heard. The soft chirping of crickets mix with the cars driving on the nearby highway. Shawn unbuckles his seatbelt and gets out of Eric's car. The anxiety within his chest had completely died down after they looped around the street for the tenth time. "Thanks for dropping me off," Shawn murmurs before closing the car door. He slowly walks back to his trailer, trying to make sense of what had just happened. There's no way that Eric had missed the exit. He knows the way here better than anyone. And even if he had just made a mistake, there's no way he would keep making it that many times. It doesn't make any sense. "Shawn!" Eric calls out to him.

Shawn stops and turns around, "Yea-" He is cut off as something heavy drops onto his head. He lets out a grunt before lifting it up and staring at it.

Eric's leather jacket.

"Have a good night," Eric shouts as he quickly pulls out of the trailer park before Shawn can question him about the jacket. Shawn watches as the teen leaves with a confused expression on his face. He looks down at the jacket, running his hand over the leather. He slowly throws it over his shoulders and slips it on. It's a bit too large for him, but wearing it warms him to the bone. He admires the jacket for a moment and as he does his heart feels as if it may burst from his chest. It's an odd feeling. Something that Shawn has never felt before, but quickly ignores as he tugs the jacket tighter around himself before turning and walking to his trailer.

Shawn lets out a breath as he leans against the wall next to Feeny's office. It's gutsy, especially when he should be in English class, but Shawn doesn't care.

He can't be in the same room as Jon right now.

When he had first started living with his English teacher, it was because he felt like he was a burden to the Matthews. For a while, things were okay. The two of them got along well for the most part. Jon didn't seem to mind having Shawn around and Shawn felt comfortable in Jon's apartment.

The issue is that with Shawn around came another mouth to feed and more expenses to pay. It was something that Jon wasn't prepared for and as much as he tried to hide it from the teen, Shawn noticed how the responsibility of taking care of him was weighing on Jon.

He knew that this would happen. It was only a matter of time.

Jon would never say it to his face, but Shawn knew deep down that his teacher was getting annoyed with his long-term house guest.

No one wants another kid to take care of. Especially one with as many sharp edges as Shawn.

He's a burden. An inconvenience.

Shawn knows it. And as much as he has accepted it, there's no stopping the empty feeling he has inside from being the odd one out again.

Just then, the door to Feeny's office swings open. Shawn's eyes widen and he tries to scramble away before he is caught cutting class. He is not fast enough though as the person who opened the door spots him instantly. "Shawn?" Eric questions as he steps through the doorway and into the hall. Shawn's nose scrunches up in annoyance as he stops and leans back against the wall. "Hey, Eric..." Shawn says.

"Hey," Eric echoes as he walks over and stands beside him. Shawn's eyes dart to look at Eric for just a moment before flicking away and locking onto the lockers across the hall. He reaches a hand up and brushes his hair back before settling his hands in his pockets nonchalantly. For a moment, neither of them speak. They just stand there side by side, not even looking at each other. It's awkward and, at the same time, somewhat nice. "Wanna hear something funny?" Eric asks, finally breaking the silence.

"Uh...sure..." Shawn shrugs.

"So I was called into Mr. Feeny's office..." Eric says. As he tells his story, a smile blooms on Shawn's face. It's genuine and easy as Eric makes dramatic hand gestures and puts on a very distinct impression of their principal. Before Shawn even knows it, laughter is bubbling from his chest and escaping into the air. Eric breaks into his own fit of giggles, but powers through to the end of his story even if his cheeks start to flush red. "It's crazy, right?" Eric chuckles.

"Yeah, it is," Shawn replies between laughs. Their laughter builds still, mixing together to create this echoing sound that reverberates through the halls and sings like a sweet song in Shawn's ears. He can't remember the last time that he was able to just laugh like this. It was so natural. Eric's story was short and silly, but it had brought Shawn a sense of ease that he hadn't felt in a long while. At this moment, Shawn could laugh without a care in the world. Eric has given him that. The space and the chance to just laugh. It was a medicine that Shawn didn't know he needed, but loved as he and Eric kept laughing and laughing. Even as their giggles began to die down, the smile on Shawn's face remained as did the sparking of his heart coming to life in his chest. "Well, I've better get going," Eric announces after taking a deep breath, "I'll see you around, Shawn." He pushes himself off the wall and starts walking down the hall. "Yeah..." Shawn murmurs as he watches Eric leave, "See you..."

Shawn puts space between himself and the stranger, picking up his pace and walking faster down the sidewalk. The man doesn't take the hint though and continues to follow him. "Come on, babe," The man calls out quickly catching up to Shawn, who even though has perfected a girl's walk hasn't done the same with that walk in heels.

When Shawn had first agreed to help Cory with this column, he hadn't expected for something like this to happen. It was one thing to dress like a girl and act like one. Now, he's wearing a beautiful dark green dress, a nicely styled wig snug tightly over his head and makeup painting over all his features for a date with another guy. He was actually just on his way to Chubbies for this exact date when he was stopped by some strange man who instantly tried to pick him up.

He was a scrawny man that smelled of something foul. The only thing that stunk worse would be his personality. He kept making crude comments about Shawn's appearance and wouldn't stop trying to touch him. Thankfully, Shawn has been able to avoid each of his advances with a well-timed step to the side. His actions only seemed to anger the strange man though who Shawn could tell was getting annoyed. He only hoped that he could get to Chubbies before anything bad happened.

"I can rock your world, babe," The man crones, "Just give me a chance..." Shawn's face contorts with disgust as he wraps his arms around his body like a protective armor. He keeps his head down as he continues walking, praying silently for this man to just leave him alone. "Hey!" The man snaps, "Are you listening to me?" Shawn can hear the fury building in each of his words. He's going to lose it. Shawn's eyes flit up to look at the glowing sign above the doorway of Chubbies. He's so close. He can make it. Cory and Topanga are waiting for him inside. He just needs to get away from crazy. Before he can even make a run for it though, the stranger shouts again, "You should be lucky that I even approached you! I am a catch!" His hand comes at Shawn in slow motion. The teen knows it's too late for him to avoid his touch this time. He's screwed. He tenses just as the man is going to grab him, but the hand never comes any closer.

Shawn's eyes widen in shock as Eric, appearing seemingly out of nowhere, snatches the stranger's wrist. The man howls in pain and curses drip from his mouth one after another. He tries to break free from his grasp, but Eric's hold is strong. "Get out of here, creep," Eric says in a stern tone as he pushes the man away. The man stumbles backwards, but is quick to recover. His head snaps up and he fixates a glare in Eric's direction. His hands curl into fists and he takes a step forward as if he is going to fight, but stops when he sees Eric daring him to try. He hesitates for a moment before scoffing and darting off.

Shawn immediately lets out a breath that he hadn't even realized he had been holding. Eric turns to face him with a concerned expression on his face, "Are you okay?" He reaches a tentative hand up and hovers above Shawn's chin. His eyes flick to meet Shawn's who slowly nods his head. He can feel his heart pressing against his chest as Eric gently clasps his chin and observes him for any injuries. "I'm fine," Shawn murmurs, trying to calm his racing heart, "He didn't touch me."

"Good," Eric nods as he moves his hand away. Shawn shivers slightly as the part of his face that Eric had touched tingles with undying sparks. His heart still strains against his chest, but Shawn attributes all these weird feelings to anxiety over what he just experienced. He forces himself to take a deep breath, which seems to do the trick and calm him down. "You're heading to Chubbies, yeah?" Eric questions, "Let me walk you there."

"You don't have to," Shawn says, "It's only a block away."

"I want to," Eric states.

Shawn can't argue with that. He relents and nods his head. Eric smiles softly at him and gestures for him to walk before him. Shawn does exactly that. His heels click lightly against the sidewalk as he calmly starts to move again. Eric easily falls into step beside him. A comfortable distance between them as they walk side by side towards Chubbies. "Thank you," Shawn says, "For what you did..."

"No need to thank me. I'm just glad you're safe," Eric replies.

Shawn sighs, "Yeah, I didn't expect all this craziness to happen when I dressed up like this."

"Listen...I know that you're trying to help out Cory and all and you need to stay in character or whatever....but don't be afraid to push back and say no," Eric says, "You deserve to be treated right...and I mean as both this persona....and as Shawn." They come to a stop right outside Chubbies and Shawn turns to look at Eric. His words still echoing in his ears along with the sound of his heart once again racing deep inside of his chest.

"Hey, it's me," Eric calls out.

"Come in," Shawn replies. The door to Shawn's new room cracks open as Eric comes in back first with a bunch of bags in his hand. He plops them all on the ground next to where Shawn is tugging a fitted sheet over his mattress. "What's all this?" Shawn asks.

"It's for you," Eric states simply.

"I didn't ask for anything," Shawn says with a confused expression on his face.

"I know," Eric shrugs as he kneels down to the ground and starts to rifle through the bags of stuff he bought. Shawn watches Eric, thinking to himself for the nth time how surprising it was that they are now roommates. When Shawn had first ran into his half-brother Jack, he never expected to be moving in with him. Much less moving in with him and his best friend's older brother. It was such a weird thing. After all, Shawn and Jack are basically strangers. On the other hand, Eric has known Shawn since he was in elementary school. And even though Shawn did spend a lot of time at the Matthews house, it was one thing to visit and another to be living somewhat permanently with the older. It was definitely going to take some getting used to, but with Eric around Shawn already feels a bit more at ease. It feels a little less daunting to be staying in the same place as Jack when he knows there's a familiar face nearby.

"I got your favorites," Eric announces as he waves a packaged candy in front of Shawn's face. He then proceeds to take a stack of cookies out and places them neatly along the wall. "I don't think Jack is much of a snack guy. He looks like someone really into health and wellness so lets hide junk food in our rooms," Eric says. He proceeds to push the snacks into Shawn's closet except for one bag of chips, which he opens up and offers to Shawn. The teen takes it and quickly pops a chip into his mouth. He then tilts the bag in Eric's direction. The older reaches inside and grabs a handful. He eats a bunch before stopping suddenly.

"Oh! Oh!" His eyes widen in excitement as he remembers something, "I also got some movies and TV shows on disc!" Eric quickly shoves the rest of the chips in his hands into his mouth before digging through the bags again. He pulls out a bunch of DVDs and stacks them in a tower. Shawn doesn't see all of them, but he can catch his favorite cop dramas and I'm Blowing Up Your Head Part 10 amongst them. "You got a lot of stuff," Shawn murmurs, his eyes flicking back and forth from the pile of junk food sitting in his closet and the building made up of DVDs.

"Yup!" Eric smiles, "And that is not all, my friend! You're really going to like this last one." He turns around, shielding his last purchase from Shawn. The room echoes with the loud rustling of plastic as Eric tugs the bag off of a medium sized box. He wraps his arms around it before quickly whirling around, "Ta da!" Shawn blinks a couple of times in surprise. His brow furrowing even more in confusion. Eric is holding a brand new radio with a built in top-loading CD player. "It's for you," Eric says, pushing the box into Shawn's lap.

"I don't need a CD player though," Shawn states.

"Yes, you do," Eric says simply, "How else will you listen to your Sounds of the Trailer Park CD."

"What Sounds of the Trailer Park CD?" Shawn questions.

"This one," Eric replies, placing a CD in a hard plastic case on top of the radio box. Shawn looks down at the items in his arms and then up at Eric. "I don't...I don't understand...I'm grateful, but why did you get them?" He flashes Eric a quizzical expression, waiting for him to explain. The older simply shrugs and leans back nonchalantly, "I remember you mentioned that it was hard for you to sleep when you stayed with Turner cause of how quiet it was compared to the trailer park."

"You...you remembered that?" Shawn says in shock.

"Of course," Eric says, "I remember a lot about you." Shawn's face instantly warms as his entire body feels like it's been electrified. His heart thumps in his chest like crazy. If it raced any more, he is sure it would bust straight through his chest like it is nothing more than thin paper mache. "I know that these past few years...you've sorta been living everywhere," Eric explains, "Now that you're here and we're going to be roommates, I kinda hoped that maybe you could see this place as somewhere safe...or maybe even home." Shawn's eyes flick to meet Eric's. He doesn't speak, unable to fully put his thoughts into words. Every word from Eric is purposeful and sincere. It's dizzying and overwhelming. In a good way. "And I know that isn't an easy thing and all and you may never see this place like that," Eric blurts out, scratching the back of his neck, "But...if anything I hope that these things will make it easier for you to live here."

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"I'm coming!" Topanga calls from the bedroom of her and Cory's apartment. She makes her way towards the front door as quickly as possible.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Which is clearly not fast enough for whoever is waiting on the other side of the door. Topanga's face contorts with annoyance as the knocking continues. "I said I was coming!" Topanga snaps as she reaches the front door. She proceeds to unlock it.

Bang! Bang!

Topanga whips open the door before the person outside can slam on it again. She stares at her impatient guest, whose eyes dart nervously and breathes heavily as if he had just sprinted over. "Shawn?" Topanga questions.

"Can I come in?" Shawn questions.

"Yeah..." Topanga says, her face contorting with confusion. She steps to the side allowing for Shawn to enter the apartment. He steps through the doorway and immediately begins to pace anxiously in front of the small couch. "Cory isn't here," Topanga says as she closes and locks the door, "He has a class."

"I know. It's a good thing he's not," Shawn states, "I actually want to talk to you."

"Oh?" Topanga echoes. Her eyebrows raise in surprise. Shawn stops pacing for a second. He looks at Topanga and opens his mouth as if he is about to speak, but no sound comes out. He stands there with his mouth open for a couple of seconds before starting to pace again. "Okay..." Topanga says, "Why don't we sit down?" She walks over to Shawn and places comforting hands on his arms. She guides him to the couch where Shawn stiffly sits down. Topanga sits next to him and flashes a small comforting smile in his direction, "Take a deep breath and tell me whenever you're ready." Shawn heeds her advice, taking in a breath of air and slowly letting it out in an attempt to calm down. And while it did help, the next words out of his mouth still come out in a rush of nonsense, "IthinkIlikeEric!"

"Huh?" Topanga says in a confused tone.

Shawn takes another breath and repeats himself, "I think I like Eric."

"Eric...Eric...as in Eric, Eric?" Topanga echoes. Shawn nods her head, but even with that Topanga still questions her friend. "Like Cory's older brother, Eric....as in our Eric...Eric Matthews, Eric?" Topanga rambles with wide eyes.

"Yes!" Shawn exclaims before leaning back on the couch and letting out an exaggerated sigh, "I was in the student union and it was really crowded, but I really needed a coffee, so I waited. I had no idea that Eric was there and I doubt he saw me either at first, but when I finally got my drink and I turned around...we just...found each other...our eyes met even though we stood on opposite sides of the room...and then Eric...he just smiled at me. He didn't do anything else...he just smiled and my heart started racing and it felt like it was going to explode out of me!" His hand finds its way towards his chest as if just recalling the moment is bringing back the feeling he had experienced in the student union. "Here's the thing....I don't think that this is the first time this has happened either," Shawn says, "I've felt this way around Eric before, but I never put it together...I never knew what this feeling was...but now I...I know that I like Eric. I like him a lot." Shawn turns to look at Topanga, who doesn't say a word. As the apartment falls into silence, Shawn quickly sits up anxiously and runs a hand through his hair, "It's weird, isn't it?"

"No," Topanga says automatically.

"It is," Shawn huffs.

"No, it's not," Topanga says in a firmer tone. She looks at Shawn for a moment and flashes him a smile. She then reaches for his hand and squeezes it encouragingly. "I think that out of all the people you could have a crush on, I'm glad that it's Eric," Topanga says, "He's a good guy."

"Yeah..." Shawn murmurs, a smile shyly peaking out on his face as he thinks of the older. Topanga can't help but grin at his reaction. She's never seen her friend like this before. It's sweet to see how much Eric means to him. "Are you going to tell him?" Topanga asks.

"No," Shawn states.

"Shawn..." Topanga says.

"It's not worth it, Topanga," Shawn shakes his head, "He doesn't feel the same way that I feel about him." With that said, Shawn's mood drops. He slumps back into the couch again and his face goes blank. Topanga looks at him with concern, but doesn't say a word. She simply interlocks their arms and leans her head on his shoulder.

———————

Eric rises from where he has been busy working on the ground for the past hour and a half. He lets out a breath and admires his handiwork. He nods to himself. "Hey, Shawn!" Eric shouts.

"Yeah!?" Shawn calls back from somewhere in their new apartment.

"Can you come to the living room?" Eric asks.

"Sure, give me a sec!" Shawn replies. Eric lets out a breath and leans against their thrifted couch. His eyes wander around their tiny home that they've been working on making theirs. When they had first followed Cory and Topanga to New York, they had never planned to become roommates again. But after a few months of mooching off of his little brother and his wife, Eric had decided it was time to find a place of his own. Thankfully, Shawn was willing to tag along which definitely helped because although he did have a steady job, his meager paycheck made it difficult to cover the cost of living in the city. Even with Shawn though, their place was still sort of cramped. They only had one room, but it was big enough for them to put two small beds in and share. Their tiny bathroom was taking some getting used to, while their kitchen, living room, and office space sort of is all the same area. Nonetheless, it was slowly starting to become like home. They had filled it with a few personal items they had brought from Philly and everything else they bought from garage sales. Eric and Shawn were even beginning to fall into a sort of rhythm with making dinner and cleaning the apartment. All in all, things were going pretty well. "What's up?" Shawn questions as he appears at the doorway leading to the living room. Eric immediately shoots to his feet and stands in front of his surprise for Shawn, "Close your eyes!"

"Why?" Shawn asks.

"Just do it!" Eric exclaims. Shawn lets out a breath before begrudgingly closing his eyes. As soon as they are shut, he raises his arms in a dramatic manner as if to ask well why am I doing this before letting them drop to his side. Eric smiles as he makes his way over to Shawn. He grasps his forearms and carefully guides him right in front of his surprise. "Keep them closed," Eric calls as he lets go of Shawn and walks back to where he was standing before, "Okay...now open them!" Shawn's eyes immediately open and as they do Eric dramatically slides to the side. "May I present to you, Mr. Shawn Hunter's brand new desk!" Eric cheers, making jazz hands, "Perfect for writing poetry and stories in complete comfort!"

Shawn's jaw drops in shock, "This is amazing!"

"Do you like it?" Eric asks.

"I love it," Shawn says, walking over to the desk, "I've been wanting to get one, but I could never find one that fit my price range or was the right size...how did you..."

Eric shrugs, "My co-worker had an old one. I took it and cleaned it up a bit. Refinished the wood and painted it...changed one of the legs that was a bit wobbly and even added some drawers so you can put pencils or notebooks."

"I don't even know what to say...this is just unbelievable," Shawn says, "I can't believe that you put this together yourself..." He flashes him a wide grin as he continues to admire the desk. His hands run along the smooth wood and he tugs at each of the drawers one after another. Eric watches him with a smile of his own. It's been a while since he's seen Shawn get this excited. It was a thrilling sight. It gets even better when Shawn turns to look at him. His eyes shine bright as he says in the most sincere tone, "Thank you so much, Eric." Shawn immediately walks over to the older and throws his arms around him. Eric's eyes widen in surprise, but he doesn't hesitate to hug him back. And as they embrace, Eric can feel his heart start to pound against his chest.

And that's it. My contribution to a very underrated ship. I think it may be the most underrated ship that I've ever written for, which is crazy to me. Even though it is super underrated, I have plans to write a full length story for this ship based off of this one-shot. It would basically follow the gang in New York and be like this if we had another season of BMW or if we had a spin off show or basically my way of retconning Girl Meets World (do not get me started on this show...). I have so many ideas in my head and I also really want to write like a bromance fic for Shawn and Jack too, cause we got jipped out of an angsty and amazing brotherly bond showcased between the two. I know it doesn't really fit for a sitcom but I would have loved to see it. If you would be interested in seeing more BMW centric fics from me, please let me know in the comments below! While you are at it, I would appreciate it if you could please vote, follow me, add this story to your library, and check out my other one-shot book to read my BMW themed Minjoon one-shot. Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great rest of your day!
