"I'm thirsty."

"We're almost there Nix. You can wait." Krux replied. His brother groaned. The two made their way up the steps and were let in by Zane. They walked into the kitchen and Nix made his way towards the drinks.

"Oh, they have cream soda." Nix was about to pick one up when Zane stopped him.

"You have to ask Ash. Those are hers."

"Why do I need to ask her?" Nix was cocky about it. Zane moved away from the door frame revealing Ash. Nix quietly apologized once he realized that Ash was expecting. She gave the twin a welcoming smile.

"Go ahead." Ash told him. Nix grabbed a soda and tried to offer her one, but she refused. "No thanks. I'm getting a glass of milk." Ash poured herself a cup.

"Congrats. And why do people have to ask before grabbing a cream soda?" Nix asked.

"Oh, because water, milk, and cream soda are the only beverages that I can stomach right now. Anything else makes me gag."

"Ok. At least two of the three are healthy."

"Yeah. I have to keep up my calcium intake and brush my teeth at least twice a day to keep them from rotting." Ash said.

"That's good. Man I could never imagine being pregnant. How are you holding up though?"

"She's supposed to be on bed rest or at least sitting and relaxing. Ash has a high risk pregnancy." Zane said.

"It wasn't a high risk when Griffin and I first found out." Ash then took a seat. "I have gout and it started flaring up around a month ago. Zane is the one who normally watches me when this happens."

"Zane must be the kindest person you've ever met." Nix told her.

"He is. Unless you piss him off. Then the enemy is in for a world of hurt." Ash and Zane high-fived.

"Make sure you watch your language Ash."

"But Zane, I like swearing." Zane and Krux rolled their eyes, but smiled. The twins left and Ash relaxed.

I like cream soda. And I have some quotes planned for Father's Day soon. Or maybe they'll be really short stories.
