Island 3

*knock knock knock*

        "(Y/N)-San...its Komaeda-kun."

"Come in!" You shout to him from your seated position at your work desk.

Nagito opened the door to your cottage and walked inside as you greeted him from the other side of the room, motioning for him to come over and sit wherever he would like. Nagito observed the room carefully and sat comfortably on your bed as you rose from your seat and offered him a beverage.
"Ah...so this is your workspace." He said, walking over to the desk and running his delicate slender fingers along the bindings of each book and feeling the different textures of the covers of your sketchbooks. "Amazing..." He let out under his breath. You smiled awkwardly and shyly as he curiously looked at your books.

"I-I wouldn't look at my drawings though Komaeda..." You stammered out embarrassed of your own work.

He turned around and looked at you curiously.

"Why not?" He questioned. "I bet your drawings are absolutely amazing! Please! Let me see how much talent such a girl like you possesses!

Wondering about his tone, you hesitantly allow him as he starts flipping through the pages.

"Incredible. They're all so lifelike!" He said excitedly as he examined the drawings. "(Y/N)-San..." He said turning his head to look in your eyes. "These are absolutely beautiful..."

You blushed and smiled wide.

             "T-thanks Komaeda-kun..."

He nods smiling and walks over to you, grabbing ahold of your hands and holding them close to his chest.

"You possess so much brightly shining hope! Please! Allow me to be your stepping stone to reach a greater power! A greater hope! I want to aid you in becoming your best! Please let me!

Your expression immediately turned from happy and shy to sad and worried at his troubled words.

"Stepping stone...Komaeda-kun...no...you're not a stepping stone for me and will never use you like that. You're my friend."

Nagito looked at you scared and in shock.

             "F-friend...?"

The worried boy changed his expression as quickly as it came, going back to all smiles and joy as he giggles and let's my hands go.

             "Please, (Y/N)...such trash as I-"

"Just stop..." You interrupt and go to sit on your bed,  Nagito turning to look at you and walking over to sit next to you.

You look down in despair and silently curse yourself out.

"You don't know what you're talking about Komaeda-kun...you're not trash at all...please don't say that..."

Nagito opened his mouth to say something but shut his mouth and just smiled.

           "Well thank you..."

Nagito sighed.

"Ko...?" You call quietly for him.

He turns his head and blinks innocently letting you tell what you needed to say.

"Please...you can trust me...and trust you...why I want to ask this...do you have it too?" You look down and say, crossing your arms and holding your body up against itself tightly.

Nagito tilts his head then smiles and chuckles sweetly.

             "Depression?"

You nod silently and dig your head further into your knees. Nagito chuckles and sighs. That's not a discussion we need to have now. I'm perfectly okay (Y/N). The worst thing you can do is worry about a person like me." Nagito smiles at you and tilts his head cutely. "So, how was your breakfast this morning? I hope that ungodly thing Hiyoko made didn't ruin your day with its unbearable despair."

You laugh slightly.

"It was in good heart. She tried. Breakfast was lonely as usual for me. How was breakfast for you?" You asked him attempting to make conversation.

He nodded and continued looking around the room in awe of everything.

"Komaeda-kun....Ko...dude you okay?" You questioned awkwardly in an attempt to snap him out of his trance.

"O-oh, my deepest apologies for scanning the room (Y/N)-San." He told you after coming back to earth. "Breakfast was good thank you. We have to talk however."

You nodded and he opened his mouth to continue.

"Had you been aware of the monobeasts that are guarding the other islands?"

"Ah! Yes! Why, are they gone?! Can we leave?!!" You raised your voice at the question.

Nagito chuckled and got up from your bed and paced around the room.

"Not quite." He began. "Well, at breakfast, Monomi came by and explained how she had defeated the second monobeasts for us all. We are now allowed to explore the next island."

"Oh," you said in slight disappointment, however kept optimistic. "I guess I should go and check it out then. Have you been there yet?" You asked curiously.

Nagito shakes his head and smiles at you.

"I was actually waiting for you to be honest."

You smile and take his arm and head for the door as he blushes slightly from the foreign contact and follows along.

                   "Let's go then!"
----------------------------------------------

You and Nagito spend a while exploring the newly discovered island uncovering a hospital, club, motel, theater, and what appeared to be a electronics market street. Along the way you and Nagito talked to many of the other remaining students and finally came to an end of their exploring at the theater.

"Komaeda-kun! Over here!" You call for him as he looks at a movie poster skeptically that was located on the bottom right side of the theater near the door leading to a screening of a movie Monokuma had made titled "The Wizard of Monomi."

Nagito and you stared down at the concession stand in front of you two holding items such as snacks like hot dogs, pop corn, and assorted sodas as well as a Monokuma sticker that read "sorry for being born an idiot" and a burlap tote bag with Monomi's face on the bottom right corner.

"Puhuhuhu! Welcome, one and all!" You heard behind the two of you. Turning around, you see little Monokuma standing there happily with his hands on his stomach looking up at you. "Are you here to see a screening of my amazing film, "The Wizard of Monomi?!" Or are you for now admiring my wonderful merchandise I have for sale?!"

Just as you go to speak, Nagito steps in front of you and puts his arms out cutting you off and beginning to speak.

"Ah. Hello Monokuma" Nagito started. "I'm just guessing this is another one of your "motives", isn't it? Just like the "Twilight Syndrome" game."

Monokuma laughed.

"Oh my! And I was just about to give you a complimentary ticket, too!" He says in a sarcastic way. "But, I can't allow you not to see it! It's a movie I made myself, after all! Then again...if no one sees it, I'll feel like you're shutting me out!"

You finally stepped forward and put a hand on the soon-to-be ranting Nagito.

"I bet it's no better than the game if you made it!"

Monokuma laughs again.

"That game was shoddy work, I'll give you that. But this time it's my true masterpiece!" He says optimistically. "Anyway, as long as I don't permit it, not watching isn't an option!"

You sighed and mumbled an "of course" under your breath as Nagito turns to you and grabs your arm hastily causing you both to blush slightly.

"Come on (Y/N)..." He says to you now walking you both to the door of the screening room. "Let's just watch it. It's probably important anyways."

"Upupu! Right this way!"

----------------------------------------------(You can skip this part if you would like. Literally all it is is a word-for-word transcript of the movie from the game)

----------------------------------------------

*BANG*

Hajime and Monokuma whipped their heads around only to reveal you and Nagito walking moodily out of the screening room. Monokuma's expression instantly lit up.

"Ah, Komaeda-kun! (Y/N)-San! May I have my questionnaire back?" Monokuma asked in an raised tone.

You covered your face and groaned as Nagito stepped forward to speak.

"Questionnaire? Are you serious...?" Nagito let out in a slightly angered tone. "That was so boring I felt I was being tortured. The last few minutes felt like weeks."

Monokuma just stood there.

"Oh...and (Y/N)-sa-" he began but was cut off by you.

"That movie was absolute horse shit."

"U-ummm...." Monokuma said turning around and putting his paw to his chin as if he was thinking. "Well... That's what art is like, y'know. Work that doesn't challenge common sense has no right to be called art." He turns around again and faces you. "You would know that, wouldn't you (Y/N)-San, half being the ultimate artist and all."

You sigh and Nagito speaks up again.

"I was so sure it was going to be the next motive, but it wasn't anything like that. I'm disappointed on so many levels..." He expresses in a down way.

You nod.

"Me too. That was pure hell..."

Nagito nods in agreement and sighs.

"... It was so boring I'm exhausted. If I could've paid money to avoid this experience, I would've gladly done so... "

Hajime's ahoge twitches and he turns around looking at the both of us.

"Hey...Komaeda-kun, just for reference... if you had to pay 1.5 million yen in order not to see it-"

Nagito cut him off.

"I'd do it a second."

Hajime looked surprised at the quick answer but brushed it off and gets back to looking around.

"That was terrible." Nagito says again turning to face you. "But I had fun being with you." He smiles. "Thanks for accompanying me today!"

You smile back at him slightly blushing.

"Thank you for accompanying me! It was fun!"

Nagito nods and begins to walk with you to exit the building.

"Hey, look at the time." Nagito states looking at the clock on his handbook. "I don't know if you heard yet, however, Fuyuhiko is in the hospital just a few buildings down. Sonia-San wanted us all to go see him this morning. Though I'm the least fit to go, I still believe it would be good to go and show our support."

You smile.

"We should go and show our support. Let's go."
