Chapter 12
(March 7, 2016)
I think of ways I can escape. They did say, when I arrived here, that if someone didn't feel safe with me here, they could take me home. Maybe Adam would come get me by 11 tonight? Most likely not.
Maybe my new mate could come get me? No, I wouldn't know what they look like to know.
'We need out, and fast! The scientists are on their way to this room.' Trinidy said.
'I'm thinking! Do you have any ideas?' I ask.
'No' She whimpers.
Great. Scientists are on their way to take me, and I have no way out.
Then I remember my strength. I could punch a window, but it'd still hurt, and I'd bleed.
I pull the curtain up and look out. I see the forest, which is about 50 yards from here. If I can get out the window, I can run to the forest and hide.
I hear footsteps running toward me, so I act quickly.
I grab my sketchbook with my right hand, and ran up to the window. I punched the window hard, with my left hand, and the window broke. An alarm sounded outside my room, so I ran quickly out. I put the sketchbook in my mouth and shifted.
I ran to the forest as fast as I could, and made it to the middle in less than 30 seconds.
I close my eyes and shift back. I can smell them behind me, about 20 yards back.
I climb the tree closest to me, and take the sketchbook from my mouth.
I think back to what Mom said. I have a mate somewhere near me. I sniff for any other werewolf, but smell... a human? The scent is stronger than an average human.
I know it's my mate, but even a mates scent isn't as strong as this.
It smells like an ocean, but with a hint of apple? I don't know, but it smells amazing.
I jump to another tree nearby, and to a few others as well. The scent gets stronger.
Trinidy is going berserk, but I can understand why. I'm actually happy, right now, myself.
I hop to a branch above me, and see someone through the treetops. This person looks like someone I know. But I can't place my finger on it.
So, my mate, she's an angel. Not just to me, but really. She is a real angel! I stare in amazement, not able to look away.
She looks at me. And I cannot believe my own eyes. It's my best friend. She has always been there for me when I needed her. She was the only one who knew my darkest secrets, except for the werewolf one.
I don't think she likes me that way, but she had to have known. I don't know.
"Hey, Bexly, how have you been?" I ask.
"Hi, Meisei, I've been pretty good." She says.
I stumble and barely catch myself. I quickly let go of the branch, because my hand is in so much pain.
"M-Meisei? What's wrong, and why do you have glass shards in your hand?" She asks, sounding very worried. She flew down and caught me.
"I kinda, might've punched a window to get out." I say in pain.
"We have to find you some aloe ." I look at her in confusion. "It's a plant for healing burns, bites, cuts, and even scrapes. We just have to find some. I think there are some in this forest, but we have to look."
"Ok, but, I think if I can get the shards out, my hand will heal itself."
"What do you mean?"
"The one thing I haven't told you, about myself, is..." I pause.
"Is what, Meisei?"
"I'm... a werewolf. I wanted to tell you, but I'm not allowed to. It's a rule within the werewolf community."
"Oh, okay. What's wrong with that?"
"Nothing, I guess. But I need you to help me get these shards out of my hand."
"Okay, are you ready?"
"Not really, but okay."
"1... 2... 3!" She yanked one out. I covered my mouth with my other hand before I screamed.
Ten more shards later and they were all out. I watched my hand as it slowly, but quickly, healed itself.
"Thank you." I said. "My hand feels so much better now. We need to cut this short, though. I need to get... home."
"Welcome, and what's wrong with going home?" Bexly asked.
"The people who were coming after me, they'll have my information. Address and all... but then again, I didn't give my address. I gave the schools address. So they'll know where to look for me. I can't live at my home anymore. I can't go to school anymore. What do I do?"
"Well, we could move to another state."
"But I am not going to leave Adam and my church."
"Okay. What do you suggest, then?"
"We can move to a town close by. I can go to a different school."
As I finished saying that we heard footsteps underneath us. Along with voices saying, "I heard her, this way!" "I see the glass, she's this way!" And other things like that.
"Let's go." Bexly whispers.
And with that she picked me up and we flew away.
Hello everyone. I'm sorry that I took a break. I couldn't stay away from this book, I love it way to much! Also, soon I will be making an Episode story about this. MUCH less reading, but it all makes more sense here. Keep an eye out for when I post a link on my page on Wattpad.
What do you think of this book?
Well, until next time,
