Hours
This was the mid-quel to My Darling. It was under performing and I didn't find it all that good, it was rushed, and too short. And thus, it is here.

"Arthur, I'm not hero. I'm just another person stumbling around trying to find the answers to everything." I looked to him. "At least I know the answer to happiness." I gave him a weak smile to cheer him and get him to write. To makes things just a bit better. "Get to sleep. You need it."
"Alright." It wasn't too long until I heard him snoring. It was soothing to listen to. It wasn't too long before I drifted off.
I woke up before the sun came up to go to work. I made sure not to bother Arthur while getting out of bed. While getting ready I stopped at the mirror sitting in front of the bed. It was the little things I noticed.
I was slouching a bit. There were very noticeable bags under my eyes going along with the same tired look I always have. My hair was a tangled mess tied up so I looked at least a bit presentable. I noticed I was looking a bit thin. I'm a mess.
"Francis," I turned around to find Arthur wide awake. "You have to stop judging yourself. You look fine."
"I know." He crawled over to the edge of the bed and pulled me closer to whisper.
"You're beautiful no matter what. Remember that." He pulled me in for a kiss. A sudden energy surged through me. All I could do was give a weak smile when he pulled away. "Now get to work. I promise I'll try hard today."
"Of course." With that I was out the door and out into the cool morning on my way to what I dreaded most but with Arthur in mind, I didn't really care.

I came home tired as always. I found Arthur at his desk staring at blank paper.
"Arthur."
"Hm?"
"How long have you been there?"
"Don't know." I sighed and went to lay down for a bit. He came a few minutes later basically collapsing on the bed. "I'm sorry."
"Why?"
"I couldn't do it." His voice barely above a whisper.
"That's fine. Just keep trying."
"I can't-"
"Yes, you can." I looked at him. "Promise me that you will try." There was some silence until he answered.
"I promise."
"Good!" I gave a weak smile with it immediately disappearing. We sat there for a while in the comfortable silence until he spoke up.
"Sometimes I wonder what it's like walking a day in your shoes."
"Really?"
"It's just a thought."
"What if you put on my pajamas and walked in my dreams instead. If you walked a day in my shoes you would understand that there's nothing to make anything hurt less. If you did walk in my dreams it would make all that pain go away for awhile." I gave another weak smile.
"I may consider..." He had a playful tone that lightened my heart. I decided to say something as playful.
"It's too late, you're already there." I heard him chuckle which seemed to give me energy to pull him closer. Enjoying the embrace, I whispered a few simple words before letting the both of us drift into sleep.
I promise we'll get through this...
