Percy POV, somewhere in Manhattan:
"You look like you're related to me." I said.
"Well, actually I look more like your step father Paul, but with green eyes. He consented to pretend I'm his son and my mother recently passed so I'm now living with him permanently. Although I'm not sure how. Your trainer, Chiron was it? Yeah he said that it had something to do with the mist thingy that will make it seem like I've been Paul's son the whole time."
I felt like my jaw was on the floor. This was the craziest idea I've had since I lived at camp, and trust me when I say I've quite some crazy ideas. I stared at Loki for a lot longer than I wanted to.
"So you're coming to school with me."
"Yup."
"Do they expect you to pull some shit that makes me responsible in the eyes of that Fury guy? Because I have a life I'd like to keep."
"Not going to pull anything. I'm here to protect you I suppose. There are going to be a lot more enemies after you than monsters from the Underworld." I laughed.
"You can't be serious. Most demigods consider me almost a full god with what I can do and all of my training. You think I can't handle myself?"
"It wasn't like I had a choice. I didn't want to be cooped up in a box for the remainder of my life. If I could do this without failure, they'd lessen my sentence."
"This is insane! You can't come to school with me! What are you going to do during that time? Better yet, what are you going to while I'm at swim practice and the aquarium?" I was getting more pissed off the more I thought about Loki following me like a puppy everywhere I went.
"I suppose I'll go to classes and do homework where you practice and just stay here while you're out. They put some sort of shock contraption into my skin, I don't think I could do anything anyways." He said distastefully.
"Di Immortales" I swore. "Where's Annabeth when you need her?"
Loki stuffed his hands in his pockets awkwardly. It seemed he wasn't too fond of the idea either. I sat on the edge of my bed and sighed. I thought about the situation like Annabeth would, and saw their point. I'm seventeen, a junior in high school, and only trained to fight monsters. My only weapon couldn't even harm mortals. I needed someone to have my back. I just wished they would have gone with someone else, despite Loki being the only one unbothered by changing appearances.
"They said I'm a year above you, whatever that means." I looked up at him. They made him in charge of me?
"Wonderful. Guess we're stuck in this situation. You get the trundle and I'm assuming you'll just make your clothes change or whatever. The only things you can't do are flash to and from school, harm people, hangout at the aquarium while I'm working, interfere with anything having to do with Annabeth, and cheat on homework and quizzes." I said. Loki nodded in agreement. I turned back to my assignment, finishing what I needed to do for tomorrow.
I'd have to call Annabeth about the new situation, and see what the policy of having boys in dorms were. We couldn't really sleep together with Loki in the room. That was what I was thinking about instead of sleeping for the entire night.
