Cabin Pony: Chapter 1: One Big Storm

For some reason, I titled this story "Cabin Pony #2" even though it seemed like the first one. I think there was a first one, but it was on Microsoft Word, not Google Docs, so I can't access it. I wrote this in second grade. At some point, I edited it and added on more. You can tell when reading it that some of it was written later.

Cabin  Pony  #  2

Chapter 1

One  Big  Storm

Once upon a time there was a girl named Anna. She lived with her mom,  dad, and sister. Anna was 7 years old. Mom was 47 years  old. Maria was 5 years old. Dad was 57 years old. (Yes, the parents are ten years apart. It's alright.)

After Anna woke up, she would look  out of her  window and  see the herd of wild cabin ponies and her horse, Daffodil, who was in the stable. Anna had named the wild ponies. Their names were Sunset, Spaghetti, Cory, Flory, Pinky, Purplicious, Grassy, Leafy, Dark Grassy, Dark  Leafy, Sky, Watery, Dark Sky, Dark Watery, and Blue Due. (I don't even know where Blue Due came from 😂)

Sunset was the herd leader. He was blue with a red mane and tail.

Spaghetti was the lead mare. She was a red long-tailed pony with a yellow mane and tail.

Cory was a newborn filly. She was gray with a light blue
mane and tail.

Flory was a newborn filly. She was light blue with
a gray mane and tail. Pinky was a pink long tailed pony with a pink mane and tail. She was a filly.

Purplicious was a filly. She was purple with a purple mane and tail.

Grassy was a colt. He was light green with a green mane and tail.

Leafy was a colt. He was green with a light green mane and tail.

Dark Grassy was a colt. He was green with a dark green mane and tail.

Dark Leafy was a colt. He was dark green with a green mane and tail.

Sky was a colt. He was light blue with a blue mane and tail.

Watery  is  a  colt. (Present tense now...?) He  is  blue  with  a  light  blue  mane
and  tail.

Dark  sky  is  a  filly.[a  female  foal]  She  is  light  blue  with a dark  blue  mane  and  tail.

Dark  watery  is   a  filly.  She  is  dark
blue with  a  light  blue  mane  and  tail.  [the  ponies  have  hooves
the  same color  as  their  manes  and  tails]

Blue  Due  is  a  stallion.  [A  male horse.  Sunset  is  a  stallion  too.]  He  is  light  blue  with
a  brown mane  and  tail.

Daffodil  is  a  mare.[A  female  horse.]
She is  white with  a  white  mane  and  tail.[Daffodil  has  hooves
that  are  black.]

The cabin ponies were usually in Anna’s backyard, but on
Saturday morning when she looked out of her window they weren’t there!  Anna ran downstairs, ate her breakfast, and went outside.

Maria came out. She asked, “What are you doing?”

“I can’t tell you,” said Anna. “Go back inside.” Maria went back inside. Then Sunset came. Anna was surprised. She followed Sunset, and a few hours later Anna found the rest of the herd.

They were all gathered around the lead mare, Spaghetti. Daffodil, Anna’s horse, was there also. Anna cautiously went forward, knowing the wild herd might not let her any closer.

She was surprised to find that they let her in. She peered over Spaghetti’s shoulder to find her laying down with a newborn foal at her side! She gasped.

Spaghetti was now standing and trying to get the foal to do the same. Anna couldn't help but notice that he looked like a big version of a robin.

“Robin,” she said. “I wonder if Spaghetti would approve of that name.” She tried it out and the pink and yellow mare whinnied in approval. She then turned around and began to lick her foal dry.

Sunset’s ears swiveled forward as he heard a rumble of thunder. The blue and red stallion was on high alert, watching for any danger that could cause harm to his herd.

The rumbles gradually grew louder and closer as Anna admired Robin. When a loud boom! startled the herd, Sunset knew it was time to lead his herd to safety.

He let out an ear-splitting trumpet that echoed through the clearing. The herd ran and followed him. Anna mounted Daffodil and went the same way.

But  poor   Robin  was  left  behind,  with  a  storm  coming!

The  rain  soaked  his  brown  body,  red  belly,  red  mane,  red  tail,  and
red  little  hooves.

The  next  day,  when  Spaghetti  woke up, she realized
that Robin was missing! His little body surely couldn’t  survive such a humongous storm as this one! She took a huge risk and set out to find him alone.

Later, Sunset woke up. He saw that both Robin and his mother were missing! He neighed loudly, causing everyone to wake up. Daffodil started wandering around. She found some footprints and whinnied.

“What is it girl?” Anna asked. She gasped. “Footprints! Spaghetti’s footprints! Good job, Daffodil!”

Actually, the footprints were made by a different horse. They went the opposite direction that Spaghetti had gone. Anna mounted Daffodil and followed them. The herd followed her.

*Cringe* Well, there ya go! See you next chapter (if you decide to keep reading 😂) Also, Daffodil was the first horse oc I created, and I used her character in a bunch of other stuff- well, most of the stories were in my head, but still!
