"You cheated, Lucky!" I wined. "No I didn't I won fair and square!" My twin brother yelled, "You're such a cry baby!" With his gray hide and black mane and tail, Lucky was such a jerk and what he had just said infuriated six-year-old me. "I'm telling mom on you!" I said before I started to gallop. "Not if I tell first!" Lucky stated before galloping after me.

I galloped as fast as I could knowing my mom was on the other side of the Ponyville market place. Lucky wasn't to far behind since we both had the same sized legs we both galloped at the same speed, but since I had got an head start there was no way my younger brother could catch up now! . I was just born 4 minutes and 45 seconds before him, which made me superior!

When I saw my mother come into sight I slowed down, "Mom! Mom! Lucky called me a cry baby!"moments later Lucky came up from behind, "We'll she started it! She called me a cheater!" My mother starred at us, putting her hoof near her and swaying it back and forth, signaling us to be quiet. I tilted my head to the side, which was my quiet way to ask why. She pointed towards two of Celestia's guards grabbing a mare by her mane and dragging her into an alley. Everypony in the market place was starring at the mare, who was screaming and begging for help. All my instincts were telling me to help her, I could tell Lucky had the same feeling by the way he looked at me.

As soon as the mare disappeared into the alley the silence only lasted about two seconds then everyone went on with their normal Equestrian lives. I went up to my mother who was at her booth selling not only the best clovers in the city but lucky objects that seem to be bringing in all the money for our family besides my father's work. "Mom, why do she get taken?" Lucky and I asked together as one. "Since Ponyville is in poverty right now it's harder for everyone to pay their taxes. And that mare obviously didn't pay hers." My mother said as she wrapped up another sack full of clovers to sell to a waiting customer. "What happens to her?" I asked out of curiously. "She gets beaten or worse." My mother looked into the sky then back at her clovers for some reason, "Now move along if you don't want the same to happen to us." Mother rushed us away then got back to work.

"Do you want to go check it out?" Lucky asked as soon as we were away from mother. "Of course I do!" I said as we both causally trotted towards the alley where the guards took the unknown mare. I peered around the corner to see it wasn't a mare but a filly a red one, with brown eyes and a black mane.
