"Hello there, Ma'am!" Annalise Thompson squeaked, immediately uncomfortable when the door opened. The woman in front of her was her girlfriend's mother, Erin Briar. Annalise didn't like her girlfriend, Diana's, parents. They were rude to her, but she tried not to let them see they bothered her.

Erin gave Annalise a haughty glare. "And why are you here, Miss. Thompson?" She asked. The girl picked at her nails nervously.
"Well, Di wanted to ask me over so we could take care of her rabbit together." She muttered. Erin observed her for a moment, then waved her inside. Annalise hadn't even realized she was holding her breath until she was in the mansion. The girl was never really impressed by wealth or fancy things, but she would admit that the Briar house was pretty.

That was when she spotted Diana standing at the top of the staircase in front of her. The teen was leaning on the railing, her reddish-black hair falling in curls on her shoulders and her piercing blue eyes staring down at Annalise. She was wearing a black t-shirt and pink shorts - a more casual outfit than what she normally wore.

Annalise looked severely overdressed in her outfit - a black sweater with gold tinsel and a white, frilly skirt - and still underdressed in Diana's presence. To her, Diana looked radiant in anything, even if it was just shorts and a t-shirt.

Diana glanced at her mother, said something in Mandarin (that didn't sound very nice), and smiled at Annalise. "Hi! Come on up! I got some strawberries ready!" She said, tapping her cherry-colored nails on the railing. Annalise smiled dazedly and nodded, rushing up the stairs.

The brunette's heart fluttered slightly. Diana smelt like strawberry and vanilla frosting. "You smell pretty." Annalise blurted, attempting to compliment her partner. Diana stared at her for a moment.

"What-?"

Annalise blushed. "Nothing-!" Diana blinked in confusion, but nodded. "Okay, let's just get to my room. Noms is very excited to meet you." She said, smiling slightly.

"Noms?"

Diana paused. "Did I never tell you his name?" She tsked, shaking her head. "My fault, my fault. His name is Noms. He's my little baby." She beamed. Diana spoke of her rabbit - Noms, apparently - as if it were her son. Annalise found that adorable.

"Well, I'm very excited to meet Noms." Annalise thought it was a very cutesy name compared to Diana's much more gothic style.

The two went over to Diana's room. The walls were painted black and a flower-shaped rug was on the dark wooden floors. In the corner of her room was a waist-high metal fence. Colorful toys were scattered in the closed-off area and a tiny wood hut was placed against the wall.

Diana smiled brighter than Annalise saw in a while. "Aw, there's my baby." She squealed, clasping her hands. She grabbed her girlfriend's hand. Annalise flushed. Diana's hands were soft and warm. The ravenette led the other to the fence. "Annalise, this is Noms." She said, gesturing to the mass of fluff on the floor.

Annalise almost screamed in delight. The rabbit on the floor, looking up at her with warm brown eyes, was covered in white and gray fur. His long ears flopped over the sides of his head, and his little paws were placed on the floor politely.

"Hello, Noms!" Annalise greeted, smiling at the rabbit. Diana knelt down, carefully picking her pet up. She held him close to her chest, letting him lean onto her. "I'm very happy to meet you." She continued. The rabbit stared at her for a moment, obviously not replying.

Diana carefully handed Noms to Annalise. "He might get a little skittish, but he's a sweetheart." She smiled.

Annalise steadied herself as she attempted to hold Noms. To her relief, the rabbit rested his head on her sweater, allowing her to hold him. Diana smiled excitedly. "Good, my son likes you." A playful grin crossed her face. "We can get married, then."

Her girlfriend quickly looked at her, her face covered in dark blush. "Huh-!?"

Diana smiled more, laughing at the reaction. "Joking! I'm joking!" She leaned forward, the two's faces close. "Consider it a return for the flirting you tried." Annalise somehow blushed even more. Diana smiled, planting a quick kiss on her cheek. "I love you."

Annalise seemed to crumble into a mess of giggles, turning away from Diana. "Di!" She squeaked, smiling widely. Diana laughed as well. "You're adorable, Annie." She awed, wrapping her hands around Annalise's waist.

The date was perfect to the two. They took care of Noms, who quickly started enjoying Annalise's presence. They ate strawberries together, Diana playfully dabbing whipped cream on the brunette's nose.

The day was bliss. Everything felt right in those moments. They just let themselves feel happy.

(Sorry this took so long, I've just been super busy-)
