Basically Angel as her name says is an angel but a fallen one and that's how Eclipse found her.

Angel had fallen straight down from Heaven and crash landed into earth damaging her severely. She had multiple cuts, scrapes, bruises, and had even broken her delicate feathered angel wings.

So Angel was basically just laying in the middle of a snowy forest badly injured. She was lucky Eclipse was out walking and had found the fallen angel wolf or she could have died (again).

So since Eclipse isn't necessarily an evil demon he picked up the damaged angel werewolf and took her back home to nurse her back to health where they later fell in love and even had kids named Juniper and Nightshade. Because of they're parents both Juniper and Nightshade were born as half angel wolf half demon wolf.
